Walk in fields of gold and green Lay beside the silver stream Know you stand upon God's fair land You're an Englishman Churchill, Nelson and Rupert Bear Peerless, noble and true Rhubarb crumble, Trafalgar Square English all the way through Maypoles, midges, humpback bridges John and Paul, George and Ringo Long shall they abide To the Lord we pray Sing their names with pride As we cast all cares away On this GOLDEN DAY
Where the storm clouds gather dark There beats fast an English heart Take the spirit of times gone by Hold it in your eye Stonehenge, Python and seaside days Richard Briers, my Mum Big Ben, Botham, the Shakespeare plays Icons every one Church bells, custard, English mustard Morecambe & Wise and Bingo Long shall they abide To the Lord we pray Sing these words with pride as we cast alll fears away on this GOLDEN DAY Away, away, away. @EnglishWatcher
Have you listened to there'll always be an England? I think not. It has almost nothing to do with England, it's a song mainly about Britain.
