My gosh!! This could be our bird - Elvis!! Says the same things right down to the roar!! I haven't put many videos on YouTube, but I will start!! He's great!!
What methods did you use to train her to talk? I have a young grey and I am gettig a Blue and Gold Macaw in 4 months. My Grey is a year old and has not started to say any words yet. At least nothing that I can make out. :)
Since she was 4 weeks old she has been coming to work with me. Everyone in the office always talks to her like she is a person, we even take the time to explain things to her. Her first word was at 4 months old, I was handfeeding her in the kitchen and my boss came in to help and she looked at him and told him "hello", she has not shut up since then. Give your bird time, he will talk when he is ready.
i love the roar that is too cute, i was thinking of getting a macaw next year, im getting a african grey he gets to come home in two weeks, the breeder also breeds blue and gold macaws so she knows i want one. i think your is soo cool
Wonderful to see such a well loved and well taken care of bird. I was thrilled to read that you take him to work with you. The socialization you expose him to now will last a lifetime. I wish you a long, healthy, happy life together!!!!!!
what a cutie pie! my baby green wing is 14 months and he only say "hello" "craker?' " hi big boy" your b&g learned quickly its probably because you have other birds. when bentley went to a friends house for the week end. he came back saying "craker?' . anyway nice video!
What a Beautiful Birdie! Blue & Golds are very rare on the pet market in Austraila do to import regulataions and you will pay a fortune for them here about $9,000. I love the 70's tune in the background, Iam a BIG FAN of the 1970's, Great generation!
Depends where you buy or adopt them from. They can range anywhere from $1,200 to $15,000 depending on the species of macaw that you get. And this is just for the bird.
we also have a blue & gold .. love him to death! your bird is a great talker!

i can't believe she can say all that after only 10 months! a lot of birds don't start talking that much until after at least 18 months...

I am lucky to be owned by such a smart baby. She said her first word when she was 4 months old. She's 16 months old now and talks even more.

She does her best talking while Hubby listens to his classic rock stations.

Thanks, now if we can only get her to be quiet for 5 seconds...LOL
playfulkitty14 5 years ago
Yeah...good luck with that. :)
My B&G is 2 1/2 years old, and he isn't even quiet when he is eating. He talks into the food bowl because he likes the muffled sound of it.
