  • What nazi BS were these preachers talking...It's the language of suppressive power, not the language of the divine. They even did it to their own kind, as many Irish Canadian boys have experienced, who were sexually assaulted and raped in boarding schools. As were native kids. ;(

  • SHAME!

  • I am (was ?) a christian.. Maybe a true one, or a bad one. Never believed to be something superior..not selfish, neither greedy. I believe in The Great Spirit too. I call him: "He, who has many names".. And I feel so confused and ashamed. Never heard before about Boarding Schools.. To me, looks like a never-spoken Holocaust. And now I am fighting to break that Media's silence and let people know.

  • There's two kinds of christians

Ones like these that still exist to this day.

I have a bow an arrow for them..

Then others who call themselves a Christian,

who really does belive in The Great Spirit

who are not selfish, greedy, collecting possessions,& don't worship idols,

they help their Brothers & Sisters...Lane*

  • christians are nothing but assholes if they would see that thier belief are no different from the native american no of that would have even happened it was the native americans country 1st and the goverment has no right to force them to doing things thier way just becuase it's different

  • man that shit pisses me off so much. =( how can people be so stupid. =*( i wish i could go back in time and stop things from happening and change how history went.

  • The Tuscarora and many other tribe's kids was sold into slavery during the early 1700's at the brafferton boarding school.

  • The brafferton and Fort Christianna was the first boarding schools, started in the late 1600's...many tribes today call the descendants from them two boardings "not native" simply because they forgot their native idenity due to them two boarding schools...it is sad so many tribes today ridicule boarding school descendants for simply trying to reclaim their identity.

  • And they called us savages?

  • So well done but ohh so sad!

  • To this day, the same religious organization hides behind our laws and are exempt from prosecution for violating children. They do this behind doors like they did back then, but now they stand in front of the media before millions and preach humility. People eat it up, except its not only native children that have suffered.

  • True that.

  • What a compelling film! America keeps the ugly history a secret, but until these stories are told there can be no healing. My own grandfather bore the coachwhip scars from Chillocco boarding school. He had pins stuck through his tongue when he tried to speak his lanugage. I speak our language proudly without fear because my language was bought and paid for with my grandfather's flesh. We shall not forget.

  • i think its not religion that tells them to do horrible acts its people who have hatred within themselves and project it onto others, either way its wrong

  • there is a saying that fits about what is shown here .. (very real ) its not jesus I fear .. but his followers ...

  • please read above

  • its so messed up the things that religion have caused. man made religion. if christians would just realize that the god they worship is the same as the great spirit and most religions are looking for that same god or creator. i believe if we are worshiping or talking to the creator and in good heart then we are all talking to the same god. all over the world all just want to know him. but the evil things done "in the name of god" are just messed up. the creator would never do these things.

  • Hey thanx for sending me this clip. I was so pissed at the end of it, a damn priest. Atleast it was a honest discription. Religions, catholism, cristianity and any other denomination has been mans worst phillosophy. They forced a religion on our people that they themselves were braking every law on it. I have abandon the catholic relgions and belive and pray to the great spirit and to my ancestors. I will not pray to a cross or any other thing that was forced on our people..

  • This is horrific the peoples whom do or did this are not safe in whom or wat they are that is why they try take away the faith and beliefs and cultures of these beautiful peolpe whom unlike the bullies are happy n cvontent with whom they are and wer they come from we can only pray for there lost souls n creator will judge them ! thank you for sharing this my friend

  • that was deep, my mother went to a boarding school and has been through alot. One day my mother will tell me her story when she wants to, i know there is still alot of pain within her and she still carries it with her.

  • Im not a church goer but I know that even Jesus would be ANGRY at his priests for the bad things the churches have done over history. I see Jesus as a good man, but I see the church as a seperate thing with just a small overlap. Those priests responsible are the real savages! First Nations are the real people...Earth people..the Oyate.

  • i am a menominee from the 'termination generation'. i was re-educated by my white family. they sent me to an indian boarding school. i learned more about being indian and less about being the way they were. at least once their plan back-fired! i pray for all of those who suffered and who are still suffering the effects of re-education. may they learn to walk in beauty for all the terrible things they had to endure.

  • Very powerful, very painful. All in the name of "Christianity"? No, that was just a blanket term used for acts of brutality. "Was" used. IS used is more like it. Thank you for making this film. It is important to speak for the ones who were silenced so horrifically.

    Peace & Respect.

  • My Great Grandparents Went To Indian Boarding School..rip Mitata Kesalul!..Atleast in this movie the parent runs back....in reality..there was no parents at all...If i had the power To change all this..I swear i would...love and prayers to all who have lost brothers,sisters,cousins,friends,Family..Tahoe..

  • my grandparents went to an indian boarding school in canada, our family still feels the pain after soo many years

  • Pilameyo, Ryan, this video, while shockingly brutal, needed to be in the front, my parents were sent to Holy Rosary Indian Boarding School and told stories similiar in nature to this one. Great job!

  • This video is right on. What was done to children in the name of God & Religion, IS an atrosity. We now as a Nation need to help those who suffered from these atrosities. We also need to be Modern Day Warriors & make it known to ALL about the First Nations Peoples, of these past & continuing present crimes against our people. Please pass this video along to family & friends. As NARF site states; "When good men do nothing; evil thrives." OhitikaWin

  • Alright! This video was very good, right up there with "Where The Spirit Lives". Remember all Anishinaabeg (Dine) who lived in board schools. I am going to tell people about your video.

  • Right on!

    Thank you for your comments.
