Those who abuse others in some form generally were abused themselves, whether that is sexual abuse, alcohol/drug abuse, emotional abuse, or whatever. That doesn't mean, necessarily that they are not redeemed. It's a symptom they have unfinished emotional business that needs taken care of. Such is the condition of our fallen world. Jesus said he didn't come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. But, it may have been wise to remove this minister from a position of authority .

I attended this church for years when growing up, and my Dad gave all kinds of dollar amounts to this ministry. When he passed away, the church didn't even put his name in the church bulletin.

Stanley is not the liar and heretic that an Osteen/Warren/Graham/Meyer/Hag­ee is, but he does preach some heresy, indeed.

I believe God ordains certain individuals to preach his word, hence Dr. Stanley's educative background, therefore I'd say you're the arrogant one proposing to sport more knowledge than Dr. Stanley who is deciphering God's word more precisely than you can no doubt. Get over it.

@OneSteveUnderGod My heretical friend, God's Word is not hidden from us. "Seek and ye shall find." is applicable to all, not to some. We are NOT to rest our eternal hope on what a stranger tells us but instead on what God has told us all.

I'm not impressed with a PhD, and besides, most seminaries today are bastions for heresy, just like many churches are. You sickeningly are putting your personal feelings for someone ahead of promoting God's Word.

That's the major point of the doctrine: unconditional eternal security.

1) Healing - emotional health is important for physical health, but beyond that, "healing" should primarily include professionals (e.g. a doctor)

2) Miracles - sorry, miracles (e.g. violation of physics) just don't happen, ever.

3) Prophecy - uh huh... like the end is immenent - any day now...

4) Diverse kinds of tongues, Interpretation - uh, huh...

The blanket of deception is so thick, through love we can use these gifts to change peoples lives through the power of the Holy Spirit! Even though many of us have these gifts and operate in them if we don't have love and don't operate in love these gifts will not do anyone any good. I need to focus on my love walk daily.
