hang techniques

Just came across this instrument today and i am so amazed by it. I have been playing guitar for 8 yrs and was thinking of starting to learn piano but once i saw this thing, the piano idea went right out the window. I am getting me one of these things real soon.

@AnvariNation no i think there should be a free way to be expressive on the hang maybe with some guidelines about the limitations of the metal....

@AnvariNation yes WAY too hard... i used to hit the hang very hard before i understood how to play (then i met sabina and felix) now i usually play very gently!!

they are created in switzerland,there they cost like 400€...

The ebay hang drum you say is a rare version, thats why it costs 3000.

Hi blacksnowcat, your information is only correct regarding Switzerland,

Hangs are handmade in Bern / Switzerland by only two persons. They are just able to produce max. 400 Hangs per year. That's what makes used Hangs rare and expensive.

The price for a new Hang is about 1200.- Euro and the waiting time is one year or even more.

I've been on Youtube for only a few minutes today and I've somehow come across these hang drum vids. I want one of these instruments badlY.

Funny how he was playing a quasi-hiphop sound and his hands move similarly to how some rap artists do when they perform...
