  • still driving?

  • @mattyg219 Not at the moment... have had a break to have children... and I am living in Sweden. I plan to do it again one day here though : ) Not sure if it will be easier or harder here?! The roads are less complicated and a lot less busy.... but I'm not sure if the actual job is any different.

  • @hellagoodella oh ok i drive trucks in australia not to bad like to drive trucks all over the world one day

  • what the hell is a lorry? you mean a rig?you brits always have some funny words...

  • Ok, lets check out the birther.

  • just seen this video. Well done for 4 years ago! I passed my class 1 a year ago and just cant get any work. Nobody will take me on until I have had my license for 2 years, even if I dont sit in another artic. Crazy. thankfuly I have a class 2 job getting experience. I'm not that far from you either. I am very close to Northampton.

  • Haa ha... yeah Can you imagine what it was like for me when I passed my class 2 when I was 22... had only been driving a car for 2 months. Most companies laughed at me because no one wanted to insure anyone under 25.. or a employ a girl that "looks" like she cant unload lorries!

In the end driver hire got me a job with DHL.. and they just sent one of the driver hire guys out with me the first time to make sure I was ok... then I managed to get other jobs.

  • -continued..

Now is not a great time for lorry driving... theres hardly anywork!.. I think somsone said I'd never been out of work with a class 1 licence?!... haha.... ummm!

  • people have said that to me too but they lie!!! lol

Do you have any work at the mo? I know of a company that has lots of class 2 agency staff at the mo. Half the drivers are agency. Thankfuly I am full time though. Wont say who or where in a public typing area. pm me if you like though. I'm not far from Northampton, infact, I drove around it enough times yesterday!

  • Good to see other girls trucking, im only 5.3 and 50 kgs, have driven kenworths, freightliners, and macks, luv it all, luv backing in docks, tying my loads down, pulling up at lights and perving on the fellas in the smaller trucks next to me ha ha ha, etc etc etc. its tough when ya only small tho hey. but its all good. Keep on trucking:)

  • Haha Awesome!!!

You must be stronger than me then... I tried trucking in Canada... and couldn't manage to tie the load down!.. i tried to tighten the strap by pulling on the bar.. and my feet were off the ground kicking in the air!

  • lol, yes my feet would go off the ground so i learnt to throw my weight back down on the bar, that would tighten it brilliantly. I have had a go at doggn and chain'n loads, but i reckon the men can keep that one, too bloody dangerous hey.

  • thanks for sharing. good luck to her... however, the video flickering is giving me a headache, so I'm off now...

  • haha yeah sorry about that... had to video it from the TV!

  • Why cant there be more sexy lady truckers in america? You go girl!

  • I actually just made myself laugh watching this... omg i was so nervous.. it was filmed live... i cant believe i said that i use two hands to change gear... i meant getting it in reverse! lol uhhhhh the shame! lol

  • articulated lorries?!?!?!lol thats hilarious

  • Come give our 'lorries' down here in aus a try, that'd be a eye opener for you.

Congrats btw, i am a driver here in aus and it's great to see the stereotypical mould being broken.

Have travelled with a few women drivers and i must say they can be far more professional on the job.

  • Haha yeah i HEARD that you can clean up driving those road trains?!? I Think i could handle that... i just couldnt hack the spiders in aus!! haha

  • Haha I don't really look like that anymore now either... trucking has had its toll! hahaha just kidding.. i guess my face is the same...(but 4 years older) but the blonde is gone! ;o)

  • not many u.s. truckers that look like that!lol

  • Give her a bigger lorry! 40 tonnes is 20 too little.

  • well its not a hard job is it, sit on ya arse eating yorky bars. easy

  • I disagree for Yorkies arent for girls!

  • well done sara my wife is a lot like you.she has been doing hgv (class 1)for 5 years now and is 27 years old now allso blond and slim+ 5"2 and her name is sarah.and from mansfield notts keep your eye out for her in a purple scania for a company called UDG. she is as all most as good as me ha ha.

  • YES! I love seeing cute young women coming into the industry. Even John is 1000 times better looking than the average North American trucker. 300lbs and poor hygeine, lol.

  • Get ready for 15 hour days and never getting home girl.Sorry , but that's how it is now.

  • So WHAT?

I am a truckdriver since 1996 and I still love my job very much.

Yes, you make long days but that is the way it is. And I think most driverS KNOW what they are gettin' in to.
