Texas state troopers are the best of the best: courteous, well-trained, and committed. My hat is off to the 3000 currently serving the Lone Star State, and I salute those that have been killed in the line of duty. I have always wanted to be with DPS, and someday soon I will. Thats not always true on writing you up everytime. I got stopped 2 years ago in Como, Tx. 6 over the speed limit of 55, I was very curteous and so was the Trooper. Got a written warning and a "Have a nice day" and off I went. It's all in your attitude...

i know texas rangers do criminal investigation but what else do they do? i.e. highway patrol? and also, do they have their own unique form of transportation or do they drive a state troopers car? gonna be a texas ranger when i get older

And I believe that the gun laws should stay just like they are, the second amendment of the US Constitution says the right to own and bare arms for the ability to 1) provide for yourself and 2) revolt against government when needed. No its absolutely not a dumb question. Troopers are Cops, but they are for the Highway Patrol so instead of patrolling inside the city and stuff they stick to the highways. They can patrol in the city but they dont most of the time. And hey I want to visit Scotland one day.

Yes I do. 1)All summer long by Kid Rock 2)Life is a Highway by Rascal Flatts 3)Beer for my horses by Toby Keith. The reason i made this idea to u is b/c i like the THP! And so fare u r the only 1 has brought the right idea for trooper tribute (in my eyes for wht it is suppose to be) . I live in Alabama and here isn't that much country (land & feel wise).But out in Texas i feel more alive there than what i do here. So anyway thanks for ur comment back.

yall both are misinformed why dont you go ask a local trooper there is only one of my dads troopers who even went to college y dont you call ur local dps office and ask if you can subsitute college for jailor time or military time instead of takin 1 troopers opinon that apparently dosent know what he is talkin about

Nobody said you had to go to college, he was saying that if you did not have military,jail, or past peace officer expirience that you had to have 90 hours of college now.

thanks for posting this vid my family has been in dps troopers forever 3 of my uncles are sergents in the nac aera and i willbe following in there footsteps
p.s. you dont have to have 60 college hours you can substitute it with 2 years military or 3 years as a jailer or prison guard
