There's a better way for Mac users, and SAFARI users. (Safari works on both Mac and PC.) All you need to do is bring up the activity window, look for the youtube window, and alt+click on the file that's the video.

If that's too confusing, I have a video on it.

Lol, this doesn't work. You're just embedding a shortcut to the video on a notepad, you're not actually saving it to your computer. It can still only be opened via the internet.

It works exactly as he said it would work. its just a quicker way of accessing the video without having to log onto youTube or a way to pass on videos embedded in an emails etc.. This is nothing special. YouTube allows this.
