@VALVe629 Not if economic efficiency is one of your criteria. It's heavily subsidized by tax dollars and still doesn't come close to being as cheap a fossil fuels.
@PaulMH87 No need to get nasty sir, I saw one else commented on the Victory and these are both ships from the same time period, I do hope you do not have to argue to some one over a keyboard on such a little thing, if you where upset you could of asked me to remove the comments which have seen to offend you, which I can see they have. No need to argue over the internet over a video.
Ahh I stand corrected, He indeed said "...afloat in the world." Aye this is true Victory is in a dry dock and has not sailed for some time. Please forgive me for not realizing this before posting my previous comment
HMS Victory is the oldest ship still in comission? Its just in dry dock, if it was put back in the water it'd be the oldest active ship in comission.. USS consistution is just a technicality.
the victory is still in commission she just sits in dry dock wich is why the victory is the oldest commissioned war ship.if she was put back in to the water the uss constitution would lose its title of oldest commissioned war ship still afloat.
@Truthseekerfinder Museum piece! Victory's the royal navies 2nd flagship and could be called up to fight at anytime, not that you'd do that though, these kind of ships would be ripped apart by modern ships.
actually wind is an excellent alternative energy source

I wonder...when the last drops of oil are sucked dry from the crust of the Earth, will these beauties rule the seas once again?
samdogdamndog2 6 months ago
@samdogdamndog2 I doubt it because we would find an alternative source of energy by the time we run out.

uss constitution was a symbol of revolution n liberty... while hms victory represent greed n relentless drive for conquest...

i hate when people comparing constitution with that shitty victory... it just like comparing battleship and cruiser... silly mon...

She has nothing on HMS Victory

@Bassplayer2735 victory is a ship-of-the-line class while constitution is a frigate... what do you expect?

I'd hardly call the USS Constitution "a technicality".
I didn't put down the Victory. No need to attempt to do so on the storied USS Constitution.
And frankly, I don't care which is the oldest.
Truthseekerfinder 2 years ago
HMS Victory still floats.. so its kind of silly to say its the oldest comissioned warship afloat in the world..
TowerHamletsNeil 2 years ago
Yes, the HMS Victory still "floats".
The USS Constitution is still in ACTIVE US Navy commission.
Shes's not just a museum piece, like the Victory.
