To clarify, I'm not comparing Rubio to Lebron. I'm saying that he getting the phenom type once in a generation type hype that a Lebron got. And I simply do not believe that to be case. The pg position is too deep this decade. Steve nash without a jumper but with slightly better D is a very good player, not a phenom.

chris ford has already clarified that Rubio will be going 2nd or at worst case 3rd overall to OKC. now I live in OKC and talk to people associated with the THunda..and basically some expect OKC to trade the pick (which is the only scenario that Rubio drops out the top 3), personally, I'm hoping Okc drafts rubio and plays him as a backup pg to Russell Westbrook and work him into the rotation. ex. D Rose and K Hinrich at Chicago. by no means does the average fan know more than Chad Ford ofESPN

Well in a sense he's a test bed for athletes who want to be professionals fast without having to go through school. Europe can be good and you have to be ready. I'm glad the experiment worked for Brandon and hopefully he's more prepared to work as a pro come draft day.

Ricky Rubio is simply another good point guard. I'm not buying phenom hype. That means he's in the class as a Lebron, Yao, Oden can't miss prospect range. And if he was he would be the clear cut number. Just another good player.

ok, I can assure u he's a phenom. is he LEbron or Yao, or ODen? no. he's better than ODen. Greg Oden is a bust and I KNEW he was going to be a bust. Lebron is a top 10 all time NBA player so now he's not that. He's closer to the sTeve nash / Jason Kidd type range. what PG is like Lebron?  other than Magic? really? I've scouted him and lots other credible scouts have profiled him on numerious occasions. they all say...that he will be a STAR. trust me u don't know more than the scouts

LOL, dude is a good player, might even turn into a star. But he is OVERHYPED. A phenom is the unquestioned number 1 pick no matter WHO is in the draft, no matter who the team picking has. You're essentially calling Rubio the best pg prospect this decade. Please...the pg position is so deep. Rubio is probably gonna go 4th. That doesn't say can't miss prospect to me. And you're foolish for claiming a 21 year old player a bust. Injuries slowed Oden down.

pflaw...let's get our facts straight. when they say phenom....that doesn't mean # 1 pick. a phenom can be a late 1st round pick. it simply means someone who is phenomenal. Ex. KG was a phenom for coming out of HS straight into the NBA even though he was the 5th overall pick. whether he was 1st or 5th didn't make him any less a phenom. same with Rubio. he's a phenom for playing since age 14and having a stellarpg skillset. and in regards to his draft positionhe will be a top 3 pick PERIOD.

Pro ball at 14 is not big deal when we talk about how it will translate. It's a big deal for HYPE...prospect wise no. D-Rose played one year of college and lit it up. Big deal..if you want to call him a young phenom/prodigy fine. He's a european phenom..and just another good young NBA prospect/ :)

Jennings didn't call him a bust, he said he was over hyped. And Kobe and Paul did praise Rubio, just as they praised Durant, Mayo, and Rose when they met up with the US Select team. Nobody is saying Rubio sucks, just overhyped as a prospect.

His rookie year in the EuroLeague was at age 16, he started playing pro in Spain at 14. No doubt an accomplishment, however that does not make him a better NBA prospect, as say a Derrick Rose. Euroleague as we have seen, does not automatically translate to the NBA,

rubio is guaranteed on his skill set to be the kind of guy that is like a steve nash type of balla. I would say...um 70% of Nash. so he won't be the # 1 guy on a team. if rubio is your # 1 option u are fuked. he's more of a # 2 or # 3 option kinda like a tony parker type a dude. parker isn't really a # 1 option type dude, but basically rubio won't be a guy u have to worry about. that's why he will be picked at # 2 or 3 and overall above B Jennings. I've known about him since APr 2007
