The only time you could ever fire in First Person mode in the original PSX MGS was on that machine gun.

You'd have to wait for MGS2 to shoot in first person mode.

yes, you are in fact thinking of the crappy GC release "The Twin Snakes".

The PSX version is far superior, however. The voice acting in the GC isn't as good as the original PSX.

tts and the original are both good games and they are superior in diffirent areas. mgs1 has an overall amazing score but has horrible graphics. tts has ok music and really good graphics (for the cube I mean.) they both have their points when one feels more epic than the other. mgs1 cut scenes I felt went too fast and well tts is unrealisticly slow. gameplay depends on how difficult you want it to be. they are both good games.
