I am not that young. I grew up watching the Osmonds. I was there when this song came out. I am not trying to be sarcastic but can you tell me what I do not get. Really I would like to know. I am not trying to be rude or anything I just really want to know.

John Otway was a punk back in the 1970s and refused to take anything seriously and still to this day his shows are ridiculous and stupid and we love em. Perhaps its an English thing, we love extracting the urine. See his 'House of the Rising Sun' for another example of english humour at its best.

It's not a synth, it's a theremin. Type it into Wikipedia for a bit more info :)
