  • Id never buy one of these :x

  • Kl! Well if you happen to come across one within your producing/improve it would be kl to include it in a new ti demo vid. It would be a dream to own one of these gorgeous machines :) but i always try and use the orch hit sound in my songs so I'd love to hear what they sound like incase i don't have to buy a seporate sound module for them :) Keep playing loving the vids :)

  • Loving the vids does the ti come with any orch hit related sounds?

  • @ArtyGirlZiggy15 It literally comes with more than a couple of thousand presets - I am sure there are some in there somewhere!

  • @keybdwizrd Does the Access Virus TI2 Desktop (rack) come with the same amount presets?! Is it the same sounds as the polar?! I'm really looking to buy one but I just need some clarity! Their website is useless!!

  • @prettdboy Sorry, but I don't know anything about the specs of the TI2. My guess is that it would have at least the same number, and probably more. Also, I can tell you that the Viruses have been backwards compatible in terms of presets - the TI contains many presets that originated with the Virus A, B, and C models.

  • @prettdboy it comes with the same amount presets but even more room for other sounds (there's 4 more ROMS in the TI2 waiting to be filled). Probably the same sounds as the first TI model. If they're not on the machine, the installer anyways installs them on your computer as "TI 1 Factory Backup" (and TI2 Factory Backup" and other sets)

  • @keybdwizrd are you serious , it has a couple of thousand patches ? WoW !

  • Gary Numan praises this synth in the video 'Gary Numan Telekon mini tour-Stage set up' for its ability to recreate any sound from the past . He does say it's his own opinion, but it's high praise from one of the original synth experts and the video is well worth looking at for his very practical approach to things. As he says why carry extra gear with you if you're not going to play it much, just record the sound you need and leave the gear behind, and using new tehnology is more reliable.

  • I disagree on it being able to produce a wide range of sounds. Every single patch sounds the same. It's that sameness of sound that digital has that fatigues the ear after not so long of time. It's cold and lifeless. Not one change in timbre on this synth. Not one.

  • hey i just got my ti2 :) any nice websites to download or buy crazy sounds? or know of how to contact any sound designers?

  • The last time I checked there were many banks of sounds available for free download at the Access website. Keep in mind that patches from earlier Virus models are compatible with the TI.

  • That being said, the TI comes with like 2,000 sounds... It could take years to explore them all....

  • Mr keybdwizrd, I'm interested to know what you think of the Virus TI2.

  • I don't have, nor have I played the newer model. I guess it has more polyphony and maybe a few more features. Perhaps I should read up on it.

  • Ah cool.

On a different note, I soooo wish I had purchased this instead of the Little Phatty :-(

  • what is the difference between the VIRUS TI2 and the VIRUS TI2 POLAR ?

  • The TI is available in three version - the desktop, the Polar (37 keys) and the keyboard version (61 keys). See the Access website.

  • I was thinking of getting a Virus Ti2 but then again I know and can hear the fatness of the prophet you had. Can you make as complex things in the prophet as in the Virus for example trance, techno, house and so on? Or is it better to stick with the virus. I am asking you because you have them so, I will probably buy both further down the road but the thing is which one to start with. I have a Virus C so I am not virusless =). Really appreciate the demos and you have nice taste in synths.

  • Being digital, and supporting several different types of synthesis, the Virus is capable of creating an extremely wide variety of sounds. It is also 16-part multi-timbral, with 16 completely separate multi-effects processors on board. This makes it very different from the Prophet, which is analog, is not multi-timbral, and has no effects at all. It does, however, offer the rich analog tone that many people find lacking in digital synths.

  • hey, just a quick question: how you you make videos with such good quality (i.e. how do you record directly an audio signal when videotaping?)

    thanks for the great videos

  • I have a firewire Canopus ADVC-100 converter box that I originally bought to transfer old home movies into my computer. It has separate audio and video inputs. So I run the video out of a Sony camcorder into the Canopus box, and a stereo feed from my keyboard mixer into it as well. Apple's iMovie program records the audio/video coming in from the Canopus box, so presto, I get videos with audio recorded directly into the computer. Hope this makes sense.

  • yes ... thanks very much for your undivided attention and unreal videos!

  • Thanks for these great demo!

I'm wondering what's the difference between the VIRUS TI and the VIRUS TI POLAR (except the color and the number of keys lol!)

They are both the same price...wich one should i choose?

    Thanx a lot

  • The synthesizers are identical except for the color and number of keys. I bought the Polar because I thought it looked cool.

  • haha! thanx

  • i think I'd get the polar just because it only had three octaves. Makes it seem cooler and more portable. How are the keys by the way? Are they as good as a DX7's? I'm saving up for this baby right now

  • theres also the desktop, really portable and same big sound. im getting my ti2 polar soon :) i cant wait

  • Yeah, i'd get the desktop, but I like the immediacy of having a keyboard too.

I got the blofeld desktop, and it's really cool, but I hate having to hook it up to a keyboard every time I use it.

  • I'd tell you something else...if you were to package all of these virus ti demo vids on disc, I would gladly pay for them....

  • Are these stock patches? I have a Virus Polar TI rack and LOVE the presets. The only thing that bothers me about Access is that they don't have a printed preset list. Yes, programming is fun, but I don't have the time to program, so I just tweak the presets.

  • the manual has a list in the appendix

at least the online one does

  • why dont you mail me that so i can make some ripping screaming hard patches i will mail it back

    Prometheus

  • the virus does sound amazing, I'm planning on picking either a virus t1 desktop or a roland v synth xt, which would u suggest.?.

  • I have no experience with the V Synth....

  • I've heard that the V-Synth XT:s touch screen is really bad. I'd go for the Virus.

  • thanks kekker12, I just went in for the virus ti.. Yea its an aaamazing board.i felt that the touch was a little funny too on the vsynth. But the gt sure looks promising.

  • Ideally I want the TI rack module but with Polar colors. My room's not big enough for so many keys.

  • Don't suppose patches made on the Virus C, can be ported over to the TI? if so that will be really handy

  • will i get more fun from this Ti ( is it a polar ? ) than my radias , just need this answering to get me to buy one.thank you .

    kbdwzd

  • I don't have much experience with the Radias - played one in a store once for about 20 minutes. Personally, I thought it seemed like lots of fun and would like to have one myself. That being said, the TI comes with more than 2,000 presets, different synthesis types, multi-effects for each of 16 multi parts, and sounds great. But it's expensive. Perhaps you should buy a used Virus A, B, or C first...if you like the Virus sound then trade up to a TI.

  • Dust Storm is awesome :O

  • Yeah I like that one too.

  • Yes, you can hook up a sustain pedal, and yes, you can run it through effects.

  • hey hope this doesnt sound like a dumb question but i'm thinking about getting one of these, and i just need to know if it allows you to hook up a sustain pedal and/or other effects.. i have a moog analog delay and 12 stage phaser for my guitar and i was wondering if it'll work with this bad boy.. thanks- john

  • I'm not sure if you'll need any extra effects, there's a lot already built in, programmable too, to some degree.

  • pretty cool patches

  • love the spin cycle one, do you have any of the samples available for d/l?

  • amazing choice of patches I really like the first one which can be used for very soft songs but can also be used in agressive songs
