  • Ceiling fans on dimmers? Absolutely not. It can damage the motor or cause many safety hazards even a fire.

  • If you're going to wire a ceiling fan so as for the light and fan to be controlled by a wall switch, you really should use a regular switch. You can always control the fan and light settings via the pull chains.
