actually the squirrel monkey of the manuel antonio area is namedf red backed squirrel monkey just a little variation of scientiffic name, so the scientiffic name of the one he mentioned is saimirri orestedii, but the red backed is saimirii orestedii citrinelus
Great footage of the Mono Titi. Just came back mid Nov-mid Dec. 2009. Manuel Antonio to built up! Tico's have to reclaim their land. Was there 20 years ago - when the monkeys would come down to the beach - only in the National Park do you see that to-day. Beautiful country will return - but somewhere not so commercial
Suggest you get rid of your smoozy music. Let's hear them and the birds in the background
@brandy4boots Thanx and you're right, definitely BUILT up to say the least. Sorry about the smoozy music, but it wouldn't be birds in the background, it would have been trucks.
I hate going to Manuel Antonio ... there is too many tourist, TOO MANY buildings, too many people not caring about the animals, TOO MANY condos, too many people not caring about the eco system, TOO MANY giant hotels, too many people not caring about anything other then making a quick buck, and did I mention TOO MANY buildings. okay, now that I got all that off my chest... I hope the squirrel monkeys survive the invasion of modern day life in Manuel Antonio.
We saw a group / tribe / bunch;-) of these guys crossing the road between Quepos and Matapalo where the bridge construction is going on. They were fast. I couldn't get any good photos. Good job bois~~~~

scjason420 2 years ago
