Put your money in local banks that are healthy. Keep at least $1,000 in cash at home. buy as much silver as you can reasonably afford. Have a stash of food, water, fuel, extra blankets, etc. Not a big deal. Just slowly aquire a few extra things and be ready to protect your family.

Assuming that the US dollar does not crash and become worthless, $1000 is not going to get you very far. The banks are paying practically nothing in interest, so why keep it in the bank anyway? I keep $20K - 30K cash in my safe at all times... and lots of pre-1964 silver coins just in case.

I agree absolutely. I keep quite a stash myself and why keep it in a bank? I was actually trying to offer some "Wisdom" (LOL) to this guy who doesnt have what we have and not discourage him since I started just where he is today a few years ago. Man, I wish I could say I have confidence things will improve, but.....you'd have to be blind not to see what is going on. Im a little nervous about using deadly force....Im sure I would be able to exercise prudent tactics on those that come attempting to do harm...but its the guys wearing the uniforms that concern me. They have much bigger toys than my 308. Its easy to say or write that I would be a tough guy in the face of that, but its difficult to take a persons life or engage an enemy to the point someone will die or become seriously injured.
