My best friend and i were watching a NBA game on TNT in the game room it was dark and his baby was in the room in a baby walker. I noticed the baby interacting with something. The baby would laugh and make facial expressions as if someone had his attention. But when i looked at what the baby was looking at all i saw was the darkness of the room. I told his dad and he saw what was going on too. We knew there was something there the babys full attention was on it. Babies are able to see

Everything you saw in this movie exists in reality. Curses, Ouija boards etc, seance of dead spirits will conjuor up deamons or evil spritis not all the time but opens up that portal for anything to come across. If she had faith and was blessed by the Holy Spirit then the old lady would of never been successfull in cursing her.

@Halpin2006 You're right that she isn't a bad person. It's hardly uncommon, though, for very bad things happen to good people in fiction. I think the goal of making the victim a "sometimes decent" young girl is to make it easier for the audience to identify with her and thereby make the "scary" aspect of the film more real. If she was a total jerk, no one would really mind if she was sent on her way to be tormented for all eternity.

This movie was everything that's wrong with shitty horror movies. When I heard it being compared to Evil Dead I damn near shat my pants. Nothing but half-ass emotionless acting, bad attempts at jump scares, and of course the "surprise" twist ending, except nothing about the movie is good enough to illicit a continuation. Quite possibly one of the most idiotic and out-of-nowhere examples of Diabolus ex Machina, and what a sad way to end what was otherwise one of the shining examples of the horror genre.
I think Ash from Army of Darkness should have shown up just after she got dragged down, grabbed Justin Long's character by the back of the shirt and said "C'mon, monkey boy... we're goin' in after her! Pucker up!" Then he satchel explosives the hellgate and they both dive in. THEN you can end the film! =]

Sam, or whoever (maybe me), should do a sequel to this film. In the sequel, her boyfriend should work with the gypsies to confront the Lamia once again, this time ultimately destroying the Lamia! After this, the demon is obliged to return its extorted victims, including Christine. Then Christine is returned to Earth, marries her boyfriend in a beautiful church, and resumes her living as a healthy born-again Christian woman, never to return to Hell again.

Compare Christine to most other criminals, she is not a bad person at all, just someone who got the misfortune of a wicked gypsy woman. I hate to think of Christine dragged to Hell WHILE STILL ALIVE and then burning in Hell for such a feeble act of unfairness. It's Ken Lay who should be dragged to Hell!
Therefore, I think they should make a sequel to this movie to bring her back!

@Halpin2006 You're right that she isn't a bad person. It's hardly uncommon, though, for very bad things happen to good people in fiction. I think the goal of making the victim a "sometimes decent" young girl is to make it easier for the audience to identify with her and thereby make the "scary" aspect of the film more real. If she was a total jerk, no one would really mind if she was sent on her way to be tormented for all eternity.

This movie was everything that's wrong with shitty horror movies. When I heard it being compared to Evil Dead I damn near shat my pants. Nothing but half-ass emotionless acting, bad attempts at jump scares, and of course the "surprise" twist ending, except nothing about the movie is good enough to illicit a continuation. The only comedy was how bad it was. By the time I was done I felt like the fact Sam Raimi wrote and directed it was just some tag line to sell this.

Out of context, this scene was BEYOND scary and definitely perfect for a horror movie. But in the context of the movie it was a total ripoff. After everything that happened, it honestly seemed like Christine had succeeded in lifting the curse on her, but then the writers basically say "Haha, you lose!" and she gets taken to hell anyway. She deserved everything that happened to her. She was an evil person. The 'hero' of this movie was actually the avenging demon, and the victim is the little old lady who this terrible person screwed over. The movie is a hell of a lot more fun the second time you watch it if you bear this in mind. She's basically tortured for being an evil person throughout the movie.
