A SCOTSMAN INVENTED A LIFETIME BATTERY IN TORONTO IN THE 60'S.HE GOT SO MUCH PROBLEMS FROM GOVT AND INDUSTRY, THAT HE RETURNED TO SCOTLAND. HIS LAST WORDS ON LEAVING, ''well, screw you"
Such as cellphone batteries, laptop batteries, and so on? Sure, there are a lot of batteries in an EV car, but how many cellphone and laptop batteries do you think the world goes through in 5 to 10 years time?
If it takes 5 hp(I'm not actually sure how much it will take so this is a low estimate) to maintain a speed of 60 mph and this car can go 300 miles on a charge and given that the motors are 90% efficient then in order to charge this car in an hour you'd need access to an outlet that could feed at least 175Amps at 120V in order to be able to charge the car in an hour. What is this lady smoking? Most house holds have an electrical service capable of producing only 110 amps total.
She said that it depends on how you're charging it, not that all households are currently (get it, currently? :P) able to charge it in one hour.
With some of the batteries that are out there today with even higher energy densities and lower internal resistances (such as LiPos), you can actually fully charge them in about 15 minutes. I know, I've done it. But, you are talking about a lot of amps...
Taken from the Bonus material on the DVD 'Who Killed the Electric car'. As mentioned earlier you can now get a 10 minute charge on electric cars with new technology, see phoenixmotorcars dot com

Yeah we do...if Tesla Roadster is bought up by Big Oil I´ll probably kill myself. Seriously, without electric cars we´re fuckin doomed.
