  • Yeah, the job would've been alot better in 40 than 45.

  • Willie certainly did quite a job.

  • Also a re Recording On The Album Cult Classic from 1994.

  • The Cult affirms-

  • Junkers Juno 004!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    RAWK!!!

  • MENPHIS BELLE :DDDDDDDD

  • Great song I Liked it, i only I've hear from Blue Oyster Cult was "The Reaper"

  • Yes SwordofDivision - this one is the Öystermen's hardest hitters. They have a slightly different version they use these days (the second chorus omitted and the lead-in to the ending is slightly different) but they still play it live. The performance at LI Coliseum of 7/27/2011 clocked in at 3:47.

  • Damn, this song rocks!

  • Me 262 ..Prince of Turbo Jet..junkers jummo 104....blasts from R4M Quartets in my snout.....must these Englishmen live that I might die.

Bombers at 12 o clock high....

Saw the Cult live in England three times in the 70s...nothing like them ..what a great experience

  • Theres no reward for failure but death...so watch in your mirrors..keep me on the flight path.

  • great video!!! <3

  • i'd like this tune a little better if the words were easier to sing along to. i love it in concert these days with jules on the drums. great job on the vid.

  • the line "like some heavy metal fruit" is the birth of the term "heavy metal"

  • @oliverthecat666 The term Heavy Metal was first heard in Steppenwolf's classic song: Born To Be Wild. I like smoke and lightning

    Heavy metal thunder

    Racing in the wind

And the feeling that I'm under

  • long live BOC

  • Awesome song about an awesome plane! Which reminds me I have an airfix Me 262 I've still not put together yet.

  • 12 people feel like they can second-guess a bunch of jews in finding Nazis offensive, and not crediting them with crediting a rocking war plane.

  • All these 'Englishmen' are American.

  • Hip stuff, cats! Solid!

  • Great tour. I saw them in 1974 before Christmas at the Long Beach Arena and T. Rex was scheduled to open up.

    Marc cancelled due to illness.

I was on the floor about 5 feet from the stage , back then it was festival seating. Awesome performance!!

The 2 LP live set On your feet or on your knees was derived from this tour and a number of songs originated from the L.B. Arena.

    Great stuff!!!

  • ME 262 - One good reason to be thankful Germany got strapped for cash toward the end of WW2. They were harshing our mellow and we played catch up ONLY after taking and buying off some of their BRAINWORKS, yes ?

  • Another great BÖC track.

  • I worked with an older inspector back in the 70's who was a gunner in a B-17. This song came out then, and I asked him (Clyde) if he ever was in combat against the ME -262. His eyes glazed over and after a very long time of him looking away he said "yes" , they were too fast for our gunners to lead and when they hit our formations ,Fortresses were going down all around him.

  • I love Hitler's jet plane because of these nice Jewish boys from Long Island. How fucked up is that?

  • Let's see Lady Gaga cover this one! Yeeah boy!

  • This song is awesome!

ME 262's were mostly used as dive bombers. My Dad was wounded when the building he was in was bombed. The 262 needed much more developement. Engines only lasted 40 hours. Pilots didn't get much training. Heavy bombers came over daily by the thousands. The 262 is just an interesting foot note and had no affect on the war.

  • @pef286

Interesting and broad statement. I am sure the majority of people would disagree with you. If the ME-262 came out even months before it did, Germany would have probably won the war. The ME-262 dominated everything in the skies.

  • @TheTK9787 Not really dude. Green pilots and the unreliability of new technology would have made it a no factor for much longer. Even if it would have caused a stalemate there was this thing called the Manhattan Project. Quite possibly it would have been Berlin first, not Hiroshima.

    Anyhow, enjoy the song..........

  • @fligemon And how could they deliver such bombs if they had such planes defending?

  • @TheTK9787 Couple things to think of here. # 1 would have been to use the B-29. Never introduced to the European Theater, it was pressurized and would have been tough to bring down. # 2 would have been to use the RAF for a night mission. Riskier but remember that there was no guarantee on the Bomb working anyhow.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheTK9787 They built 1,200 but only 300 were ever used, Hitler insisted that they were used as fighter/bombers, a role they weren't suited to as they were too fast to bomb accurately and couldn't carry much bombload.

They claimed over 500 kills for ME262s, but that's almost certainly hugely exaggerated, and very few survived the war, bacsue they were difficult to fly, hard to land, had unreliable engines, and a huge accident rate.

  • @pef286 --------------- "Well, you be my witness, how red were the skies

When the Fortresses flew for the very last time

    It was dark over Westphalia

    In April of '45....."

  • Transmaniacon MC...And Then Came The Last Days Of May...CITIES ON FLAME!!!!!!!!!!! Too many to count. Buck Dharma!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • BLUE OYSTER CULT IS FREAKIN AWESOME!

  • Awesome job! I've seen one of the repro planes fly and it is just mind boggling! Thanks for bringing a kick ass song and great foota

    ge together

  • Great job with the vid !!!!

  • what is the name of the footage of the man in the ME 262?

  • Dude I don't know what to say.....I am dumbfounded. You are a genius and the edited video you did for this is some of the best I have ever seen done to one of the best songs ever written. You should be hired by anyone in the industry who needs a video coordinator or editor. WOW!!!!!

  • this is a great song..and the video is awesome for it

  • In the prescense of another world. You guess the things unguessed...In the fullness of another world, there is no emptiness...In the prescence of another world a dreadful knowledge comes. How time and space will modulate and earthly things be done.

  • im tengly oveer heaR

  • love this song jew boys singing about a nazi jet

  • @quahog900 And had it not been for Hitler's meddling, said Nazi jet could have turned the tide for the Germans in WWII. Not saying it's right or wrong, but the plane was that good.

  • @DinsdalePiranha67

If Hitler hadn't been obsessed with offensive weapons, and listened to others, Nazi Germany would have been destroying entire Allied bomber formations with SAM sites early in the war. Germany was able to produce hundreds of in a week (I think it was) when they were low on resources and industry, at the end of the war.

Many thousands of smaller SAMS could hae been made back when the industry and resources were intact. How much difference on decision can make.

  • @hildemel Don't mess with Spiny Norman the Giant Hedgehog..........

  • Cool!

Could have slipped that right into "HEAVY METAL"

  • Death from Above!

  • yes very well edited, well done !!! "VERY INTERESTING"

  • My God, cool video! You made the video just like how I see the song in my head.

  • GLORY TO DER LUFTWAFFE......

  • @1942PANTHERV

    Its "die" not "der".

  • cool vid mate

  • BOC SENSACIONAL!!!

  • whats happening in the picture at 1:12

  • The anit-aircraft guns in the last few frames are actually British-crewed Bofors, but apart from that, excellent vid!

(Hmm. "see these ENGLISH planes go burn", when most of the ME-262's kills were in daylight against Americans? Ah well, I suppose an American band can't sing about "see these yankee planes go BURN!" in front of a domestic crowd...)

  • wow, when I was a kid and had this album, I was like, who writes and composes awesome r&r bout a jet...and the whole album re secret treaties.....contrast this to BOC's later shite when they were a supergroup.....money corrupts absolutely....the 70's were the flower from the first froth of the 60's....where is this creativitiy now...it's all....imitation.....inspire yourselves youth of today....COMMENT AND CREATE TIMELESS MUSIC....OVER AND OUT

  • Good vid man

  • This is like something Iron miaden would write. Ill listen to anything with military history references

  • THANK GOD GERMANY LOST. NOW EUROPE CAN TURN SHIT-BROWN AND LOSE EVERYTHING, AND I MEAN EVERYTHING. WHITE PEOPLE ARE MIXED WITH NEANDERTHALS AND SINCE THESE ARE EXTINCT, CANNOT EVER BE CREATED AGAIN. DUE TO THE NEANDERTHAL CROSS-BREEDING, THEY ARE 400,000 THOUSAND YEARS DIFFERENT FROM AFRICANS. A SEPARATE SPECIES IN FACT.

  • Wouldn't you know it? Everyone commenting on the video footage and not the song! This is my FAVORITE BOC song....NOT "Don't Fear The Reaper" (as awesome as that one is). Put this on a cranked stereo system (not your rinky dink I-Pod) and you'll wanna start breaking your furniture! And wouldn't you know it....this one NEVER gets radio play. Douchebag radio programmers!

  • @MattHatter How the hell can you have a favorite Blue Oyster Cult song? There are so many awesome songs from them it's hard for me to have top 10 list. I live so many of there songs.

  • @raiiderhead That is true. Perhaps I should have said this is my favorite BOC song from their "Black and White" period....the first three albums. This and "Flaming Telepaths." Oh and "Before The Kiss, A Redcap." And "The Red And Black." And "Hot Rails To Hell." And...well you get the picture.

  • @MattHatter Great songs. You sure are a big BOC fan just like me. Enjoy there great music dude.

  • @MattHatter I do play it from time to time n my radio show on BCFM 93.2fm Bristol UK. Its my fave BOC track too. And you have done a good job on the video.

  • @stashyjon My hat is off to you sir!

  • If Hitler had won the war, we wouldn't have Lord Obama in the White House.

    Makes you think, lol.

  • Well done!

  • 25 bombers they ripped...

  • Where can I find the comics shown in this video?

  • Awesome song, awesome lyrics, awesome job on the video, I'd send it to M-TV(...once upon a time of M-TV, that is).

  • unser luftwaffe vor wunderbar!!

  • God damn Goering to hell! The fat pussy!

  • this was my teenage theme song....we called ourselves the agents of fortune..I was "the german jet".saw BOC 4 times (2 w/ lazer ahow) saw SWU 9 times in small s.f. clubs now THATS ROCK-N-ROLL!!!

  • you had to admire these men..they flew against incredible odd to protect thier country......and they flew with honor.

  • @1942PANTHERV yeah especially over guernica, spain and warsaw poland. awesomeness assfag.

  • Really coll riff

  • ...There is no reward, but death to fly one of the greatest planes of all the times...

  • @kimmoj9

Sure, especially if you throttle up too quick, hehehe.

  • The Me262 was the first operational jet fighter, not the first jet fighter. The Heinkel 280 was the first jet fighter, but it was not chosen for mass production for many reasons. It's centrifugal flow engines were not as efficient as the 262's axial flow engines, and Ernst Heinkel was not a Nazi party member. Also, the Messerschmitt mas more aerodynamically advanced with it's swept wings. By the way the Me262 was way past the prototype stage, it was mass produced in many versions.

  • the ME 262 was the first official jet ever created athough it was only a protoype it had high preformance and marked a new era in air combat. the 262 designed at an early part in the war but was created at a much later time at which point was not of any use to the German command as for Goering he was a fat idiot one of Hitlers worst commanders.

  • He. British children of Odin - the Jewish Manovar ))))

  • Goering was a WWI icon... Who lived still(ei sanonut vastaan).... Me-262 was an another sad story of luftwaffe...

  • Goering was a fat cunt.

  • It was still in the prototype phase - technically and tactically speaking - but way ahead of its time. I always held the mass bombing raids on cities as gross war crimes -

  • It ended the War THEY started!!!!!!! Go spend a few years in a consontration camp.

  • "consontration" ? English major eh?

  • I is a col age grad u ate!

  • This is the very best BÖC song of all the time...

  • The Porsche 911 of warplanes?

  • No, the Porsche doesn't need a engine overhaul every 40 hours!

  • Great lyrics set to kick ass music...these guys are in a league of their own.Never mindless, always enlightening, surely intellegent above most standards.BOC is ROCK!!!!

  • Junkers jumo 004- this engine powered our jets in the korean war

  • Check out a real model in the Smithsonian national air and space museum in DC

  • Actually it was the bombing of Berlin that made Hilter stopped the aerial attacks on England.

  • The plane wasn't effective, achieving 150 kills versus 100 losses. The engines were not reliable and getting hits on bombers while moving so fast was difficult for the inexperienced pilots; if the ME-262 slowed down to take better aim it became a target for bomber and fighter machine guns.

  • *509 to 100

  • @bluelake07 The 100 losses are a little misleading. The plane was vulnerable at takeoff and at landing and the P-51's hung aroung the airfields just waiting for one either taking off or returning. The problem was that it took a while to jet the plane up to full speed (540mph). The P-51 couldn't deal with it and it's 4 30mm cannon at full throttle.

  • thanks, great video, BOC opened my eyes to ME262 and other history

if you google ME262 you can learn more about this great machine, there are a few restored and replicas with videos of them flying

when our guys first saw these they shit their pants, luckily Hitler was insane and suffering from Parkinsons, he was convinced it was a ground war, if they had many of these we would have lost

  • No hay nada mejor que el mejor heavy metal le haga un tributo al mejor caza. larga vida a la NWOBHM y Me 262. Ale

  • Cool video, i liked it a lot! I actually learned what an ME-262 is because of this song. I was in jr high school when I first started getting into BOC music and the title was a bit different and inquiring minds gotta know.

Hitler was really an idiot, he had some unreal weaponry and misused them, like the ME-262, thank God he was too....

  • I will have to disagree, the Messerschmidt 262 scored almost 600 kills, with only 100 losses -- the only problem was that it was too late for an invincible fighter, Deutschland needed long-range bombers.

  • if hitler would have intorduced the ME-262 and other weaponry earlier in the war, you would be speaking German right now.

  • LOL. If he hadn't misused the Me 262 like he did, things would be a LOT different.

  • Blue Oyster Cult; they're more than just "more cowbell"!!!!

  • true... not to say they didnt set a good example for aspiring bands... if a song doesnt work, add cowbell! "ive got a fever and the only cure is more cowbell!" i live by those words...

  • The me-262 may not seem so scary now, but back in the 1940s there was nothing more scary to a bomber crew over Berlin.

    Great tribute, great song!

  • so sad i missed these guys live tonight!

  • re.:"thinking man's band", the 'critics' came up with that mr. "HO,HO,HO." i grew up in the seventies junior. i like the song. thanks.

  • khalithistle,The man who is anybody and who does anything is surely going to be criticized, vilified, and misunderstood. This is part of the penalty for greatness, and evey man understands, too, that it is no proof of greatness. hey, thanks for your comments!

  • The front view profile of those jets were pure evil. Looked like flying sharks out of Hell.

  • Fuckin Fantastic!

  • images in vid enbellished very well also...Rock On!!!

  • i finally read the lyrics to this masterpiece...after what, 35 yrs?!! these guys did their homework! its no wonder they were dubbed "the thinking man's band." modern day troubadours. a story well told men!

  • it doesnt take much "thinking" to read a book about ww2 aircraft then regurgitate trivia. 8-year-old boys do it all the time

"thinking man's band", ho ho. this is goofy 70s idiot-rock at its most hilariously banal. homer simpson's music

  • true i guess... but then again, you could say the same about someone who goes and buys a police scanner to get lyrics for a rap... only difference is, these guys dont suck at making music... besides, idiot-rock? listen to Hinder or Buckcherry... well, dude-rock i guess... whats the difference though?

  • Really liked what you did with the footage to Blue Oyster Cult's Great Recording.

    Thanks !

  • The Englishmen flew after nightfall, Americans under the sun, better for cameras; lovely war.

  • The english flew at night for two reasons: 1) it was an added layer of protection against fighters and 2) it was psychologically considered more effective against the populace even if it didn't offer the same strategic value. The Americans decided that the best route to victory would be high precision against specific military targets. The goal was was to maximize the attacks on the military targets the populace was not primary concern.

  • No argument here. The Lancaster was very vulnerable too; and the Brits were worn out too, flailing away since '39 I guess?

  • war isn't lovely

  • That was intended as a dark sarcasm for goodness sakes. I thought it was obvious, guess not, my apologies.

  • English? All American bombers I see. It was a war wasn't it?

  • everyone simmer down and just enjoy a well put together video and a classic song, of my favorites.

  • it was a beautiful aircraft, tho. too little, too late.

  • the prototype me-262 with the tail wheel had trouble GETTING OFF THE GROUND because the exhaust from the junkers jumo 004 over the rear horizontal stabilizers caused the rear end to stay earth bound. killed many on takeoff. you had to hit the brkes to throw the rear end up.try LANDING with THAT problem. and as fast as it was, all you had to do is wait for him to overtake you, then hit the .50 cals. BOOM!

  • cuddlefish (sic): FUCK YOU! texasfathead, erlaciTG: what part of " Nice to see all those allied bombers blown to bits, killing all the crews (hopefully)" are you havin trouble with? screw you, im from texas. and im 48

  • edslides Sir you are a TRUE DUMBASS I have no idea what you are talking about .....LOL

  • Nice to see all those allied bombers blown to bits, killing all the crews (hopefully). That makes this video worthwhile twice over. Thanks a lot for this!!

  • who won THAT war, bitch? i notice you wrote this comment in English. that speaks volumes. and while were on the subject, that aircraft killed more of its own pilots than all the ALLIED pilots combined. especially the earlier tail dragger variant. and i wont even go into the me-163 comet.

so much for german engineering, huh? germany got what was coming to it because they deserved it. if most germans didnt agree with hitler, THEY should have taken him out. (they tried)

  • God youre off with your facts man. And this is obviously a technical subject I don't think the original comment had the intention of saying thank god they died.

Anyway if americans hated Bush so much why didn't they stopped him

    (they tried) :)

  • English is based on the ROMAN character set. The Icenians (Ancient English) had a different character set but it was wiped out after the Romans took over Britain.

  • Comment removed

  • to edslides: the tail dragger variant of ME-262 was a PROTOTYPE! it never got into production. all production variants had the new landing gear.

the only problem the 262 had was its engines, which had a very short lifespan.(that was because junkers didn't have the right materials like nickle and aluminum to use)

there were over a thousand me-262s produced, but only about 300 made it to the front lines. and all me-262s together have about 530 confirmed kills. i'd say the me-262 WAS a SUCCESS!

  • Means also that the Allied Strategic Bombing is a success. The real problem is Hitler insistance of making Me-262 a ground attack fighter. Had all Me-262 be made into an interceptor, the Allies might have to call off the daylight bombings.

  • what the hell is wrong with you kid?

I was born and riased in Germany but you don't see me cheering on the Nazi's

  • you answered your own reply. im not anti-germany, im anti hitler. and if you didnt get it the first time. HE DID SAY "Nice to see all those allied bombers blown to bits, killing all the crews (hopefully)" what part of that comment is giving you so much trouble? as for bush, ya got me. i hate to say it, but it boils down to laziness on the part of the american people. i can honestly say, i think we have finally got the point.

  • Great clip . Well done

  • Great job!! Horrific subject matter, but great song & vid.

  • This is amazing. Thank you for the images. What else can I say.

  • thankyou this video is great you tube rocks wow 2 years ago it was hard to git the "obscure" stuff, heaven!

  • When this kind of fun went out of rnr, well, that was that.

  • Seriously.

What a genius topic for a song!

  • Ivan the Terribl'es PwN3d Russia, I am a decendant of him and straight family blood line connected. I currently live in the States but soon hope to return to Russia to take back the throne that belongs to me.

  • whats with the comics?

  • Love the song. Loved the vid. Keep it up.

  • "Hitler's on the phone from Berlin says I'm gonna make you a star." That's an odd sentiment.

  • Great song anyway...the video is a yawner though. Saw BOC several times... first time at a high school dance as the Soft White Underbelly in the early 70's for like $2.50. Buck plays like a bastard still...

  • (impressed)

Are you an Albanian suffering under the yoke of King Zog?

  • Awesome plane/band thx, a big fan of both. The band still tours, saw them in Binghamton NY USA last week. Thx for info on plane at Dayton, and for a well constructed video. SWEET!

  • I bought Secret Treaties in 1975. This was my favorite song on the album. I saw a ME-262 on display in the The Deutsches Museum in Munich, Germany. They also have one on display at the U.S. Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio. What a cool plane for its time. Thanks for putting together a great video!

  • Where did you find the comic boards for the song?

  • Mach schnell--drop the bombs!

  • Germany lost TWO world wars you stupid fuck. Learned anything yet? Didn't think so! LOL

  • "must these Englishmen live that I might die?"

absolute all time classic! man..great video great song....great band! thats Rockin Roll!

  • exelent video very good work man

  • Great vid. Where did you get the comic book images with the lyrics?

  • Nice vid. Lucky 'Allied Air' only had half a dozen or so 262's on their six instead of 40. Imagine seeing a swarm of those beasties homing in. Bet they would have shit themselves...

  • гаси амерзительных уебков

  • AWESOME AS EVER!

Sam mate you are a LEGEND!!

Just nicked back a watch it again!!

Ooooo Rooooo Stormbird262 Phil downunda in Oz!

  • Those first three BOC albums were fantastic. Nothing in the world sounds the same.

  • You made this video?!? Talent.

  • he is talented. now, i wish he'd get to work on a vid for hot rails to hell...lol

  • look what stalin did to the east with his communist system! and look what the west did to the western civilisation! they made us work for the rich capitalists, for shit money, fucken free masons

  • very original. blame the jews. idiot.

  • nice song

  • Cool video

  • You lost the war Nazifag, get over it. The Germans did.

  • BOC IS GREAT!!!!

  • stalin wasnt trying to take over all of europe (yet) and he wasnt practicing geonocide. Churchill said he would sign a pact with the devil to win the war, it was that important. we needed rusia to win, otherwise, as i said before, we would currently be speaking german and praising the "eternal 3rd Reich". good ridance, of hitler and stalin! USA!

  • While Hitler might well have won the war if he hadn't gotten the USSR into it...Stalin was EVERY BIT as bad as Hitler. He bullied his own people into "respecting" him, and he killed 14 MILLION of them in the process, while sending countless more to the gulags in the East (read: Siberia). If killing 14 million people isn't genocide...

  • Stalin did kill more people then Hitler in the end, but if it wasnt for his programs to make the proper weapons need to protect the country. We may have lost the war because USSR helped and without his harsh programs they would have been an easy take over
