Interesting, will this possibly be offered to the public? Little really new about it though,it's just the Hiller flying platform from the mid 50's. The military has looked into many versions of these but from what I've seen and read, the limitations on them were too many in comparison to their capabilities.
Still, to offer it to the public would be another thing.
Have 2 parachutes .. one for you and one for your flying machine. Have a balloon take you to altitude .. release balloon and see how this behaves at altitude. Practice recovering from an inversion. Alternatively, have a cantilevered hook overhanging the Grand Canyon. Some such post-flight hook-up scenario. Save on a having to have to carry a big chute (added weight) for the machine. Don't forget yours tho!
fucking terrible and take that as a compliment as it is a billion times better then the bullshit I have seen on here tonight thanks and good work or something :)
What a noisy contraption. They're still using a motor and propeller blades. They should try using a turbine engine instead. It will lift 35 times its own weight.
@ConnecticutSavvy In this case either not enough power or there is an insurance problem about experimental craft of this type. In 1955 you built for the Army not for private usage. I have noticed a lot of the hover tech craft either had a cable to make sure it didn't crash or low hover to make sure damage or injury was as low as possible. However this particular design which looks exactly like the Hiller which had a service ceiling of 35 to 40 feet.
This is nothing but a copy of the Hiller Flying platform built back in the mid 50's, but not a very good copy. The orginal had a ceiling of 5,000 feet and was very stable with a flight range of 50 miles. The two counter rotation props at the bottom made it stable that it could not flip much like a gyoscope. The army gave it a thumbs down because of noise, but at one time the forest service considered it for search and rescue as well as fire service.
It has its uses I see the bloke in background 1.14-1.25 picking up the trash blown to the gutters. mmm might just have invented new stadium cleaner!!!

poor bastard test pilot must have been shitting in his pants. if his foot were to slip he's gone. they should have him sitting and protected. lower center of gravity and short stubby control surfaces new lightweight materals could make this work pretty well. you'd get tired of holding on like that quickly
But you gladly sit in a metal box on four wheels and let yourself be propelled to speeds that can make a pancake out of you. And they often do that to many people. Nice. Just keep following the herd...
Hi, all things are possible that we can dream up because we can only imagine what we have been exposed to . The rub comes when we must pay the price . Famous last words, "Watch This" , have been on the lips of many a fine showman.
@Kenabis82 Exactly!!! My question has always been,....where is all the technology and all the equipment from all those many years of studies and research?????? That,...that is a very good question I feel!
@44skins Knowledge is power my friend and the 'bad guys' IE the people that bought America (international bankers) will not allow this to be 'free knowlege' Look up -President John F Kennedy Secret Society Speech- its the one that got him killed.
@Kenabis82 WOW,...That speech was really telling. One has to be really stupid not to see what he was talking about. I am amazed that there is still people who think little ol' Lee Harvey Oswald did the whole thing! Geee whizzzzz! Thanks so much for the info.I know all about the Builderburgs and Illuminati. I know they run the military. So, they are sitting on all the "toys!"
This would be more stable if the pilot was underneath.Lower center of gravity etc.You could still have the pilot on top but you would need a larger diametre platform with co-axial blades spinning opposite directions. These go way back to the 50s.
Oh I should have mentioned if the pilot was underneath to have long stilt like legs with landing pads or feet.Which would hold the Platform when it lands. I was mainly refering to the low center of gravity problem of having a pilot standing on top. With a height of 6 feet and 200 pounds making it wobble. If you look at the twin ducted fans that engineers are working on now.The fans are at neck level with the pilot dangling. This is the plume idea.
dddreptiles, I'm sure you could build something better right? These are average people building their own machines. They're not the government with huge budgets to build their own W.A.S.P. Give them a break.
No, it's real video, no dirt being kicked up because the ground is clean. Look at the shadow, moving with the vehicle. It's real. No big flipping deal, but it's real.
