I think you should've mentioned that the shoulder straps, as well as the belt are interchangeable. I love this pack, but even with how comfortable it was, I has trouble getting the right fit. Not the pack's problem, but mine. I have a short torso, which meant a size small was perfect for me. But I have a big chest, and wide hips, so the REI employee's changed the straps for me, from a small to a medium size strap, with the small size pack. Then it fit me like a glove!
@Ramiel77 Thanks for the suggestion. There's so much to discuss with this pack I was bound to forget something. I'll add an annotation that mentions this.
@elizacastle I would recommend you take a look at Gregory's Deva packs. They have the same suspension system and almost the same pocket layout as the Baltoro, but they are designed specifically for the ladies.
But if you are set on the Baltoro I'm sure it would still work well for you. Just be sure you get the right frame size (S or M in your case). Trying them on in person at a store would be good too if you have that option. Then you can dial in the perfect pack/size for you. Hope that helps!
@ColoradoCamper Thank you so much!! I appreciate for the help. I will make sure to check in store first and the Gregory's Deva might be the one to pick if it does fits me as you explained. :)
You should be able to get a great deal if you buy the older version (like mine). Backcountry and Sierra Trading Post have the older versions on sale at the moment and both sites have great return policies in case you don't like the fit. As long as you get the right frame size I'm sure you will love the pack.
@JuiceBox801 I'm 5'11 and vary between 185-200lbs and mine is a size L. You might try a medium. If you live near an REI store they can size you up and get you the right fit. I'm sure one of the sizes will fit you but the L is a tad big for me so start with a M. Cheers!
