I believe that predestination and free-will coexist.
Imagine life to be like getting on a bus. The bus will make all of it's predetermined stops and eventually get to it's final destination. You however, have the free will to sit wherever you want to, to talk to whomever you choose to.
Also this one: We start at point A and eventually get to point B, which is the end. Along the way there are road markers which we must confront, or life-changing events put there for our growth.
