  • My 98 z28 has a lid, filter, smooth bellow, flowmaster exhaust, and black zr1's with 315 nitto 555r's for shoes with a 3.42 gear (had the auto swap done miss the 6-speed) and a good tune no stall and best with auto was 14.2 @ 98 in vegas would do a mid 13 in pheonix

  • WAIT, ARE YOU SAYING MY CAR WITH LID, HEADERS, TRANS MOUNT, 3.23'S, BADASS TUNE, AND RAIDALS WILL PROBABLY RUN 12.8? Sorry for caps im just so damn excited to see what my car will do.

  • you are lose 20 hp to 10 hp on chrome rims aluminum rims are batter

i know the chrome are nicer but whene you are race put aluminum rims

thats what i do for my camaro ss 2001 but my newer camaro 2010 is nicer

    check out my video

  • funny same mods that I had when I was bolt-on made about the same power. never really went to the track though, good vid!

  • Pretty nice. There's a douche on youtube hat should see this. He swears an LS1 CAN NOT make it into the 12's w/o a cam even though I have a video of my '01 WS6 running a 12.9 with nothing more than an airlid, a cat-back, and some Street ET's. The LS series are great motors especially considering that they use cam under/push rod technology. Awesome bolt-on only run.

  • Nice quarter mile numbers man! Is the mods you listed, all you have? And are you running drag radials? Im pullin 326 wrhp with no longtubes and im trying to figure out what to expect in the quarter mile..

  • Auto or 6spd?

  • 12.68 in the 1/4 is a 8.13 in the 1/8th..

  • ill remember that formula. how you came about such a precise number? I have no idea. but its good for a laugh i guess

  • u have stock 3.42's?

  • my 2000 SS (auto) 3.23 gears had a 2.02 60ft, and a 8.64 @84 mph in the 1/8 BONE STOCK. what was the 1/8 mile time for this pass?

  • Holy cow. That other car smoked you. What was that?

  • @cptnoremac someone who put tens of thousands into the car while the camaro mabey had 10k put into it

it obviously wasnt a fair race lol the camaro dude was just showing one of his best passes in a long time from now his camaro will be looking a running like the other car

  • The gears are a little difference, if you're trying to find out what gears your car has put the car in drive (not overdrive) and go 70 mph. If your RPMs are 2,730 rpms you have 2.73 gears. 3230 RPMs at 70 mph would be 3.23 gears

  • pfft no

  • It is a Camaro thing

  • my tundra has 4.30 supposedly and it doesnt turn close to that in 3rd gear(2002 tundra)

neither does my chevy which has 4.10

it has to do with tires as well

  • It's a Camaro thing

  • lol im sorry i was thinking of axle ratio haha

    sorry

  • the gears in your tranny make the diff, tires have very little to do with it, unless you go 35inch+

  • oh trust me yes they do

  • 96 dodge ram 4x4, 95 gmc z71 (37's), 2005 chev z71, 2000 z71 tahoe. they all had 285's or 33's other than the gmc it had 37's and it was the only one i could tell much diff in, even racing trucks before and after bigger tires i couldnt tell much diff

  • eh, my trucks have 275 and they are i think 32 not sure

but between the tundra and chevy its a huge difference

    and also on my camaro

  • thats because a 275 is a 20 inch wheel right?

  • Im not trying to be annoying but the 8th one in mine is a "G" That shop owner said mine was the slower one or whatever, the 2002 trans am my mom had was a lot touchier to drive and felt faster than the z28 but it may have just been me.

Its the ls-1 so I dont know.

I used to see camaro's all the time but now it seems its rare to see an ss or a z28 around here.

  • sorry i meant to say G is for v8. the only thing that could make a little difference is the gears in the rear end, for autos some had 2.73 and others had 3.23 the 3.23 are a little faster. and i wouldn't trust that shop owner or take my car their if he said your car had a distributor.

  • whats the 8th letter in your vin? Ive been told it shows which distributor the car has. I believe the faster one is a "P" and the slower one is a "G"?

It was an owner of a shop so I would hope he knew what he was talking about mine has the slower one he said. Might be why the non ram air trans am is rated 5 hp better than my z28?

  • well our cars dont have distributors they use coil packs which are fired by the pcm, not sure what he was talking about. i can look up somewhere what the 8th number means.

  • p is just the code for the engine it means 5.7 liter v8, if you had any other letter it would be a v6

  • let me know if you want to trade the chrome wheels for the aluminum ones :D

I dont know how much it would cost to get those wheels

  • I have chrome zr1 wheels now, definitely dont want aluminum. i think i sold mine for 325 with bald tires.

  • you run it while it was stock?

my 01 is stock and runs 14.4 at 98 mph

it wasnt on full premium fuel and I took off from idle on an automatic

I ran it 2 passes waited for a third but a car left oil down the track

12.6 is impressive compared to what mine did, about 12-13 mph faster and almost 2 seconds with not much done to it

  • Yeah i wasnt expexting 12s just a low 13 second pass. Mine ran a 13.8 stock. You probably just need a little practice my first run was a 14 something cause i spun too much. and it would be good to use premium fuel.

  • ha, we have the exact same boltons, the only difference is im a 02 and an ss. I havent been to the track since I put everything on, but now I cant wait

  • Yeah you need to go its a ton of fun. but to get good numbers i think you have to go in the fall. I ran these in 60 degree weather and moderate kinda low humidity so it turned out pretty good.

  • 12secz28 He shut down early so he wouldn't blow his engine. Nice car buddy.

  • ha yeah i know. and thanks

wish i would have been up against a stock c5 vette or something so i could look fast. lol

  • You're an auto right? If so you could take about half a second off your time with a torque convertor. But nice run regardless!

  • yeah i have been thinking about doing that but dont want to be too hard on the rear end. but yeah if i got a torque converter, gears and slicks i could possibly be running 11s. I'm gonna save up and at the end of the summer ill either get a bike or more stuff for my car, maybe forced induction.

  • yeah, even the slower car was pretty fast.

  • well that was fair

  • hah yeah i wish i would of been up against the gt500 i raced later on. he beat me but mt et was faster, i was a lil slow off the line.

  • I've had that happen to. Those race cars look like they're shot out of a cannon when you're right beside them.

  • nice run..........ls1 cars rock

  • damn !! did u hit the gas !! lol

  • ha yeah it was just test and tune though, just trying to get some times and happened to go up against an 8 second car and he even shut down early lol.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA UNFAIRR!!!!

  • woow
