Obama will unify the nation: Really? We are so divided right now that fights break out whenever politics are discussed.
I'm sick of stupid bitter white republican racist idiots on youtube saying oh she just supported him because he's black
90% (not 60, but 90) of blacks normally vote for the Democrats even before Obama
howcome they don't mention that over 90% of white southerners voted McCain. I guess that's not bias but blacks voting Obama is. And SO THE HELL WHAT if a black woman is happy that a black man is president. He is the first one, the last 43 were white. I think she has the fuckin right to be happy.
What the hell does Oprah know? The Presidential Campaign was decided strictly on race. Also no Republican could have won after the deplorable Bush years. Hope and change are nice slogans but for all Obama's talk not a lot has REALLY changed.
@tvaddict69, it was NEVER about race. It was on experience, strength and leadership. Obama has none. He's very charismatic, but it's just a show. There are far better black candidates (eg: Colin Powell, Condi Rice, Mike Steele), but the nation picked the WRONG one.
Barak Obama is Bush 2.0. Wake up you sheep!! Pay attention!! They're just figure heads!!! Obama stands for Wall street elites, not the poor!! He sends the poor to die in a country that did NOTHING to us, and while unemployment is at record highs and tent cities and hunger are rampant in our country rewards Wall street crooks with record bonuses!!

All Roads Lead To Oprah! If it weren't for her then Obama wouldn't be President right now. Oprah, who's perhaps the world's most influential person, must have absolute faith to have put everything on the line for this guy, so I for one am expecting great things from President Obama!!!
Why the fuck are we praising obama for being the first black presedent? THAT MEANS NOTHING, no, he is the 44th AMERICAN president. There is no black, there is no white, for people to point out these differences proves them to be prejudice towards one "race" or the other. There is only one race, and that is the human race.
Black white brown yellow, we are all people right? What is the difference besides physical attributes?

"I'm a woman of color you are a woman of color", wow race trumped this election. Lets forget about the fact that he agreed with the bailout, he voted for FISA, voted to extend the patriot act, cosponsored the global poverty act which would commit 865 billion dollars to the UN, and appointed uberzionist Rahm Emanuel as chief of staff. Geez people really our brainwashed, oh well I guess we deserve the "leaders" we get. Hopefully 2012 people will shut off their TV's and think for themselves.
I would like to add, that just because your not pro-obama doesn't mean your a racist hater. He wasn't the man I wanted for the job. I myself do not like the majority of his policies, and that is why he didn't receive my vote. however he is the new president to be, and I will not bash him for being the new leader of our country whether I like him or not. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
Oprah, you supported a man who supports murdering the most innocent and defenseless on earth, the unborn. You now have blood on your hands along with Obama. I will not acknowledge him as president, only as a sinner as you now are. Many people voted for him for color only. Who cares about color? Did they forget God? Did you? Color and politics over the lives of the unborn. Shame on AMERICA>
you fools! kiss america goodbye, lemmings!osam...obama binladen will make this a communist country and you emptyhead dumbocraps are responsible for destroying liberty.
Let's Just Take a Minute to Notice that the Haters need to feel like they're in the majority so the same individual signs up for multiple youtube accounts in order spew duplicate tirades of hate, anger and not so thinly veiled comments of racism. (If you look at their profiles--their racism is more blatantly out in the open).
GettingtotheTruth. Thanks to media streams like this we can openly share the truth and not only get propaganda. America is in bad shape. We went through eight long and hard years. Finally a breath of fresh air.
But White America simply considers you black if you have a single drop of African blood. So yes, according to that definition Obama is black. The fact that now everybody is talking about the white side of the family is because some white folks feel more comfortable with a new president that also has white blood. Of course, his victory will change a lot the perception of race in this country.
I am of mixed race and proud of my African,Spanish,French and Portuguese roots. I understand Obama because when you are of mixed race you have people in your family you love in all colors and shapes. I had two lovely Grandmas one black and the other one white.
Now, it is time to get over the skin issue. This election was not about skin color for the majority of Americans (parents of this younger & more tolerant color blinded generation)
Obama is an unknown. I disagree about his ideals, didn't like his associations and think he is divisive.I really do not give a rat's butt about Oprah anymore because she is a typical Hollywood hypocrit. I remember she was leaving the country in 2004 when Pres. Bush got re-elected. She suffers from PDS as well.
wow how interesting for centuries society said if there was one drop of "black blood" then u r black...throughout the primaries Obama was black as well as during the election now that he has won suddenly the acknowledgment of of his mixed heritage should be noted rofl make up your minds...why is he called black bc usually it has been the black community that accepts ppl of all races and caucasians who would not traditionally..and why is "commie pinko" to raise one's social consciousness?
LOL. Good point. I noticed that too. It's funny how NOW folks all of a sudden wanna start mentioning, "you know his mom is white. so he is half white too"
Excellent & accurate point Sponge315, in Apartheid South Africa, Jim Crow America, pre Race Relations Act in UK if you looked Black then most Whites didn't want to know & shunned any association with you. But since Obama's win I've never heard so many White people so proud to mention that this African-American man is half White. Perhaps that's a good thing, maybe it signifies changing attitudes & growth, but if he were just an ordinary senator, I doubt we'd be hearing about his mixed heritage!
If you are American, Nine times out of Ten you are mixed. Lets get real. America is in crisis & a person of color didn't do it. So color is clearly not the issue. We have World Leaders that openly Won't Shake our current President Bush's Hand At G20 Summit.
So EVERY LEADER is not working with our leader of eight long & hard years. A lot of voters gave Bush the vote to come back when he clearly had messed up. OBAMA's a breath of fresh air.
He has mentioned on several occasions that he is of mixed descent and he championed his white Grandmother. He is a person that can bridge the gap, others brown and peach are the ones trying to pull him to one side or the other. The fact remains that people see him as black. I see him as human.
I don't even care about if he's black or not as much as I am sick of everyone making such a big deal about Obama's race and people who voted for him JUST because of it! Why does everything have to be about race? MLK and supporters in Selma, Montgomery, and B'ham already made history and gave blacks the equality everyone deserves. Shoot, blacks often have advantages in today's society. Why can't we finalize equality and be "colorblind" when we look at others?
why does mentioning his race bother you so much? What in you feels uncomfortable? Better that we ignore the elephant in the room and just say he won because he's the best man for the job? I'm thinking in a perfect America without the savage history of racism and slavery, we'd be able to have that type of conversation. And despite what you think happened in the 60's MLK didn't give "blacks the equality everyone deserves."
It's funny how people like to say Obama is 'only half black', like him having a black parent doesn't mean anything. Not only is it insulting, it's degrading to say a bi-racial person is 'only half x'. It doesn't matter if Obama is half black, a quarter, or 1/16th black. He faces all of the trials our society forces upon it's black citizens, and to deny that is ignorant.
Since when did this big fat bag of hot air become America's voice. Ok, again, the reason why BO Rocks Obama won this election was because of the current economy, not , NOT, NOOOTTT, because any shift to some kind of commie pinko socialistic ideas this big fat, rich asses cow seems to think!!
The reason why we continue to call him BLACK is because according to the laws of this nation anyone with more then 16% of African blood is indeed a BLACK AMERICAN in the country. Now while we're recently started recognizing bi-racial as another ethnic group, we all know for a fact the USA will continue to see a Black man as he's been viewed his whole life. Don't try to take this away from us. Our President's Black!!!
Exactly! I bet you if Obama took your mom out on a date Egoguitar, you would say your mom's dating a "black" man!! Don't try to downgrade the "black" issue, it does no good. Barack has been a black man all his life and now that he's President, people are coming out and saying "Well, he's not REALLY black". What? Are you kidding me?? Throw him in the deep south, high north, due east, or extreme west... Obama is BLACK.
Correct, Obama is indeed not a Black man. We do not choose our race - our parents do! However, the fantasy that we now have a Black president is so strong that most people do not want to know the truth.
I think that a lot of people on this blog have missed the point of this video. It's not about Oprah's eyelashes, religious beliefs, or how fat she looks. It's about her excitement for where America is going. Bush has sent this country to hell in a hand basket and he have the nerve to try to decide whether Obama is Black or Bi-racial? That's the least of our concerns. What about our unemployment rate or the troops in Iraq? Let's stop being superficial and start being real with ourselves!
Be careful what you say about someone else regarding death. You may not agree with what she says, but to which death is very harsh. Karma has a way of coming back and seeking revenge on you.
listen... call her a puppeter, slave, hoe, worker, w/e, MATTER IS, other WHITE presidental nominees in the past have had CORPORATIONS endorse them, so dont talk about this one woman who support the first black president, shyt, she aint support him on the show, be happy, have a nice black presidents day.
obama is not black u dumbass ppl he's half white his stupid black father abandoned him when he was a baby his WHITE mother raised him thats y he turned out the way he did
how petty can you get. His father is Kenyan you dumbass. If that don't make him black what does? And also his father was an articulate, dynamic, intelligent individual. He's a product of both parents like everyone else, dumbass
hes biracial. but in America and hes black. and unless you're black or have any kind of black in you what so ever you will never understand that to some retards who only see color will only see you as black to them. thats it. not biracial, multicultural, but black. but i do understand what you are saying and as a biracial American i know from personal experience.
i love how white people are claiming him as white just because his mothers white. hes not the way he is just because of his mother, but also his step-family in Kenya. ya know that country in Africa. yeah.
What the hell? the fucker hasn't even done anything remarkable in his lifetime, how the hell is suddenly Jesus reincarnated? Nothing quite like blind ambition. When he walks on water and saves the country with one fell swoop of his hand then I will believe the hype but until then....he hasn't done shit yet so NO KUDO'S FOR YOU UNTIL YOU FULFILL THE PROPHECY
hasn't done anything remarkable? have u ever been to harvard. Oh wait, do you have a degree? Oh wait, have you finished college. Imma give u the benefit of the doubt that you have a GED, so i think he has done alot in his lifetime, thank you, have a nice black presidents day.
I am graduating spring from MIT you moron and just because I am does not mean I should be regarded as the walking messiah. I give credit where credit is due. I am not about to jump the gun like all of these other dullards. When he fulfills the expectations of leading the world into a new age of enlightenment and prosperity then guess what;? I will hang his poster right up there with Gandhi, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
I know that he supports abortion, one of the things he will do is overturn, the partial birth abortion ban. I'm not against people who had abortion, I had friends who had abortions so I want to make that clear. I am honestly more conservative on my views. I do support him now that he is president. I wasn't real thrilled honestly with either candidate but I voted with what I new was right. It had nothing to do with skin color for me personally. I do think Obama has good leadership qualities
Strong words about some one the Repubs would call a poster-child. She's self-made from nothing to become one of the biggest media moguls ever with millions of white christian women in her following. In fact the only problem for repubs is that she's a black woman and a Dem, and not on the darkside.
People say that it isn't about race but now after the election, I wonder. I wonder if Obama was an Republican, would people be as excited about Obama.
I think its the combination of his race, intelligence, upbringing and message that gained him the Pres. But all that said there's no way he could a repub of today talking like that. repubs dont support the middle class.
That is a good point. Republicans don't necessarily support middle class. I didn't vote for Obama for some of his ideas I don't agree with. Now that he is president though, I hope that he succeeds. He has a hard job ahead of him. He has a tough 4 years a head of him if not more.
Totally agree!!!! this interview proves Oprah is a bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!! she is obviously playing the race card here, though she uses selective vocabulary.
I wonder what happens to Oprah's credibility if Barack is a bad president...
Obama winning has changed everything. I can just hear Iran and Russia screaming "I WANT PEACE WITH AMERICA RIGHT NOW!!!" And the stock market has shot up so high since he got elected! And people are coming together with Obama's landslide win of 52% - AMERICA IS UNITED!!!
(stock market has had its heaviest 2 day drop since 1987 since he was elected, Russia is threatening us, and Bush got 51% of the pop vote in2004)
Her words are true. And I'm not American. The feeling of anything is possible to be achieved through hope and belief,is the shift in consciousness . It wont be easy , but this time we will all work together to build global prosperity .Its not only Obama but he can bring world leaders together to solve the global financial crisis .With such a diverse ethnic and cultural background he may just be the one to bring it all together.
Oprah is a true patriot and, of course, has always known that her taxes would go up sharply under Obama. Oprah along with Warren Buffet and Bill Gates are proud help fellow Americans pay for our schools, roads, health care and to invest in better energy sources which mean better jobs. That's true patriotism! And it has NOT been patriotic to be shoveling billions of taxpayers dollars out to bail out greedy stockbrokers/bankers or for a misguided war in Iraq.
I'm glad to hear that, if it is true. Maybe self CONTROL will become popular and we will eliminate a whole heap of problems in this country. Imagine if people were to spend what they could afford, eat what they needed to be healthy, abstained from sex out of a committed relationship....I can think of more. Can you?
I'm ready for that!! Is Jesse Jackson and Rev Al?
I think our new president is ready to do what America needs and not "communities" of any distinction. We are all Americans and we are in this together.
What change are you seeing and when did it start. What kind of community? Large? Small? I'm just curious because that statement can mean a lot of things. Is this change you see in people around you or on a broader scale?
I think Oprah is so gracious. And she didn't talk much during the campaign but now I can't imagine! Yes, I think she more than deserves Obama's time when he has the time!
I cried last night w/ my mom. voting for the first time I really feel like youth votes were a great contribution to this win! Let alone just the history now it will be something I take with me forever.
And much is expected of America not just Barack this movement will take everyone. He is our 44th President for a reason.
wholover, i totally and completly agree...after four years when obama has taxed us to death and has not done ANYTHING to "change" in the positive way he has said, then we can all point, laugh and say..."i told you so!"
I guess we will have to wait and see. I thought in his acceptance speech he was already preparing us for failure and starting his second term campaign. But he is our president now and the office deserves respect. For the sake of us all I hope he does well.
If bad things happen we will go on but we won't be allowed to blame him like GW.
what is your problem? he hasn't been sworn in and you are predicting failure. You are really jaded. The best way to get elected to a second term is do a good job in the first.
Give the guy a break and don't criticize until you have something to critique.
Oh trust me when I say I want him to do well. I certainly don't want to see things keep going down they way they have been. I think just by people having hope is an excellent start but we must be pragmatic. There is a good chance that things will get worse before better.
well the thing is, i bet you havent seen the past democratic presidents. all they did was tax us to death too. you will see. they think the government knows best for the people.
I am 51 years old. I saw it and I did not like it. I prefer to run my own life and keep the gov out of it except where they provide a NECESSARY function. Not everyone feels that way. That's why we have helmet and seatbelt laws and why the government has to ban trans fats.......people aren't smart enough to figure it out themselves...just to name a few.
Well, the problem i have with her is that she self promotes herself. she takes all the credit. and thats whats the problem with this world. do something for someone without showing everyone you did it.
Yes that would be the ideal. Do not let the left hand see what the right hand is doing. I am not a big Oprah fan but there are plenty of celebs out there that don't do squat to help out their fellow man so I have to give her credit. As far as self promotion...well that is what Oprahs whole business is...OPRAH! Right? What else does she have besides her name? She's never invented or discovered anything, she talks and makes a lot of money doing it.
please oprah everything you say your followers will agree its right.

Everyone,
Let's Just Take a Minute to Notice that the Haters need to feel like they're in the majority so the same individual signs up for multiple youtube accounts in order spew duplicate tirades of hate, anger and not so thinly veiled comments of racism. (If you look at their profiles--their racism is more blatantly out in the open).

But White America simply considers you black if you have a single drop of African blood. So yes, according to that definition Obama is black. The fact that now everybody is talking about the white side of the family is because some white folks feel more comfortable with a new president that also has white blood. Of course, his victory will change a lot the perception of race in this country.
vioro58 3 years ago
I am of mixed race and proud of my African,Spanish,French and Portuguese roots. I understand Obama because when you are of mixed race you have people in your family you love in all colors and shapes. I had two lovely Grandmas one black and the other one white.
vioro58 3 years ago
Now, it is time to get over the skin issue. This election was not about skin color for the majority of Americans (parents of this younger & more tolerant color blinded generation)
Obama is an unknown. I disagree about his ideals, didn't like his associations and think he is divisive.I really do not give a rat's butt about Oprah anymore because she is a typical Hollywood hypocrit. I remember she was leaving the country in 2004 when Pres. Bush got re-elected. She suffers from PDS as well.

wow how interesting for centuries society said if there was one drop of "black blood" then u r black...throughout the primaries Obama was black as well as during the election now that he has won suddenly the acknowledgment of of his mixed heritage should be noted rofl make up your minds...why is he called black bc usually it has been the black community that accepts ppl of all races and caucasians who would not traditionally..and why is "commie pinko" to raise one's social consciousness?
sponge315 3 years ago
LOL. Good point. I noticed that too. It's funny how NOW folks all of a sudden wanna start mentioning, "you know his mom is white. so he is half white too"
CHEETAH69 3 years ago
Excellent & accurate point Sponge315, in Apartheid South Africa, Jim Crow America, pre Race Relations Act in UK if you looked Black then most Whites didn't want to know & shunned any association with you. But since Obama's win I've never heard so many White people so proud to mention that this African-American man is half White. Perhaps that's a good thing, maybe it signifies changing attitudes & growth, but if he were just an ordinary senator, I doubt we'd be hearing about his mixed heritage!
eugene1 3 years ago
If you are American, Nine times out of Ten you are mixed. Lets get real. America is in crisis & a person of color didn't do it. So color is clearly not the issue. We have World Leaders that openly Won't Shake our current President Bush's Hand At G20 Summit.
So EVERY LEADER is not working with our leader of eight long & hard years. A lot of voters gave Bush the vote to come back when he clearly had messed up. OBAMA's a breath of fresh air.
Praise the Lord!!!
annajanuary 3 years ago
He has mentioned on several occasions that he is of mixed descent and he championed his white Grandmother. He is a person that can bridge the gap, others brown and peach are the ones trying to pull him to one side or the other. The fact remains that people see him as black. I see him as human.
AbsalomPrime 3 years ago
I don't even care about if he's black or not as much as I am sick of everyone making such a big deal about Obama's race and people who voted for him JUST because of it! Why does everything have to be about race? MLK and supporters in Selma, Montgomery, and B'ham already made history and gave blacks the equality everyone deserves. Shoot, blacks often have advantages in today's society. Why can't we finalize equality and be "colorblind" when we look at others?
BamaE92 3 years ago 23
why does mentioning his race bother you so much? What in you feels uncomfortable? Better that we ignore the elephant in the room and just say he won because he's the best man for the job? I'm thinking in a perfect America without the savage history of racism and slavery, we'd be able to have that type of conversation. And despite what you think happened in the 60's MLK didn't give "blacks the equality everyone deserves."
CHEETAH69 3 years ago
It's funny how people like to say Obama is 'only half black', like him having a black parent doesn't mean anything. Not only is it insulting, it's degrading to say a bi-racial person is 'only half x'. It doesn't matter if Obama is half black, a quarter, or 1/16th black. He faces all of the trials our society forces upon it's black citizens, and to deny that is ignorant.
Raeshena 3 years ago
Since when did this big fat bag of hot air become America's voice. Ok, again, the reason why BO Rocks Obama won this election was because of the current economy, not , NOT, NOOOTTT, because any shift to some kind of commie pinko socialistic ideas this big fat, rich asses cow seems to think!!
starVol 3 years ago 13
The reason why we continue to call him BLACK is because according to the laws of this nation anyone with more then 16% of African blood is indeed a BLACK AMERICAN in the country. Now while we're recently started recognizing bi-racial as another ethnic group, we all know for a fact the USA will continue to see a Black man as he's been viewed his whole life. Don't try to take this away from us. Our President's Black!!!
PJTubes2 3 years ago

I wonder if Obama was an Republican, would people be as excited about Obama.
ginter1963 3 years ago 10
I think its the combination of his race, intelligence, upbringing and message that gained him the Pres. But all that said there's no way he could a repub of today talking like that. repubs dont support the middle class.
Childrenscneterh 3 years ago 6
That is a good point. Republicans don't necessarily support middle class. I didn't vote for Obama for some of his ideas I don't agree with. Now that he is president though, I hope that he succeeds. He has a hard job ahead of him. He has a tough 4 years a head of him if not more.

It wont be easy , but this time we will all work together to build global prosperity .Its not only Obama but he can bring world leaders together to solve the global financial crisis .With such a diverse ethnic and cultural background he may just be the one to bring it all together.
The main thing is that history has been made!

I guess we will have to wait and see. I thought in his acceptance speech he was already preparing us for failure and starting his second term campaign. But he is our president now and the office deserves respect. For the sake of us all I hope he does well.
If bad things happen we will go on but we won't be allowed to blame him like GW.

jmuschalek2 3 years ago 2
Oh trust me when I say I want him to do well. I certainly don't want to see things keep going down they way they have been. I think just by people having hope is an excellent start but we must be pragmatic. There is a good chance that things will get worse before better.

I am 51 years old. I saw it and I did not like it. I prefer to run my own life and keep the gov out of it except where they provide a NECESSARY function. Not everyone feels that way. She has enough, it won't hurt her. Besides, she has lawyers to deal with how to avoid paying taxes.
She gives so much to people I wouldn't be too hard on her.
ramama57 3 years ago
Well, the problem i have with her is that she self promotes herself. she takes all the credit. and thats whats the problem with this world. do something for someone without showing everyone you did it.

Yes that would be the ideal. Do not let the left hand see what the right hand is doing. I am not a big Oprah fan but there are plenty of celebs out there that don't do squat to help out their fellow man so I have to give her credit. As far as self promotion...well that is what Oprahs whole business is...OPRAH! Right? What else does she have besides her name? She's never invented or discovered anything, she talks and makes a lot of money doing it.
