  • Hi, I'm about to order one of the last Yamaha BB-414 before the new range of BB 424 take over.

I personally cannot see a difference between 414 and 424 other than the 424 has become much more expensive.

Anyway, I want to change the knobs as well ... does it go painless ?

  • Hi! Knobs changes absolutely painless and easy. Just gently hook old knobs with flat screwdriver and remove. And put on a new knobs. It's all you need to do.

P.S. With standard chrome knobs bb414 looks seriously than native (that looks like like toys). Therewith more expensive models (w/active pickups) like BB 614 & 615 have the same small chrome knobs.

  • Thanks for your reply.

By the way, it seems that you have changed the color of the 3-way-switch (plastic thingy) from white to black.

Looks really good in my opinion.

If it was possible somehow, I'd even change the switch to a knob as well.

    Would look awesome !?

  • It's easy, only paint it with black marker for CD-s, will looks better on black instrument, not sure about the same on white&other colors basses

  • @halo2pc Man i agree with you about the knew bb series being so much more expensive. I think the only real difference is that the neck construction is a little better..but thats no big deal. I just bought myself one of the last bb414's yesterday in rasberry red. It was the last one in the shop on display. I wasn't happy about taking a display model..but i knew it was fully worth compared to the price of the new ones coming out. Anyway it only had some dust on it which cleaned up! A great bass!

  • @delitemyheart

Yeah, it's a beatiful instrument. Sounds great !! Congratulations to your new purchase. Did you get a discount ? You should have !!

  • @halo2pc Thanx man. Yeah the retail on it was $649 but they had a reduced sticker price of $525. I got it for $103 ozzy bucks!

I just cant believe how good it is for that kind of money. I dont think there is a better bass for the money. The quality, feel and sound of it is astonishing!

I love it. I hope you are enjoying yours too!

  • @halo2pc typing error lol..i mean i got it for $503..not $103.
