theres nothing wrong with the seal hunt. seals are over populated anyways and eating all the fish. same with coyotes there are to many. we need to keep the population stable

Seals not only eat cod [the fish you are speaking of], they eat predators of cod; therefore, removing seals from the ecosystem may actually impede cod stock recovery. Seals and cod co-existed for millennia before factory fishing vessels appeared on the scene. Over-fishing from humans has caused the crash of North Atlantic cod. Even scientists with Canada's DFO[Department of Fisheries and Oceans] acknowledge this fact. There are most definitely not too many seals over populating any area at all.

-The Newfoundland Seal hunt is Not a hunt for natives, its a huge industrial operation by white persons. The same ones that hurt native people.

-The Hunt is a Financial Loss, hurting millions of poor Canadians whose pay is docked by taxes to pay for it.

-Seal Meat is contaminated with Mercury poisoning (HG), if you eat it, it causes brain damage. If you advocate it, you'll be hurting people & children.

-The focus of the Canadian Seal hunt is Not for food, its only for old rich ladies furs.

Anyone who needs to kill a seal for food is a fool. There are thousands of other things to eat in any place. Even people who live right on the ice that I've known for years only eat fish and the odd time hunt a dear with HUMANE hunting skills.

If people think seal hunting is ' for feeding and surviving then they need to be shot'. I think that seal hunters should be put in jail for animal abuse. Period.

did you notice how short a time it took for the hunter to come in and finish this seal off? it was seconds. Not a long time and not bad by any hunting standards. Clearly the ideal is that the shot kills it instantly but if it only takes seconds to be finished off thats' not bad by any realistic standards. Also notice that the video cuts off before we can see if the seal is bled as per new regs...this was a good kill by an realistic standards.

i completely agree. Its all within the humane trapping regulations report between the E.U. and other hunting countries such as canada, and i believe most of these anti seal hunt videos are all edited in such a way to portray their side of the story

How the hell can you edit the slaughter of seals. Make the blood a different color? The point of the argument is the seal hunt should end period, not debate how the seals are killed, why they are killed, or how much money the men who kill them make. If they need to support their families, as they say, what do they do the rest of the year? Truthfully, how much money can you make killing seals? Give me a figure.

There are different ways to gain money. This is an easy way to get it and its deffinitly the worst. I do not feel pity for them. Oh by the way its not the cuteness of the seals thats just one point to reach people hearts and make them understand to do sth because injustice is done over there. But seals are a part of the ecosystem of course and thats one mainreason to save them also, as i said before the killing is wrongfull and cruel!
