When I first saw it I thought it was just a entertaining ancient roman sword and sandles epic. However over the years with each more viewing you see more in the film you didn't see before.Ridley Scott only made two movies that were masterpieces of cinema one was blade runner the other is Gladiator.Gladiator deals with many themes, political intrigue, the bread and circus entertainment for the masses of Gladiatorial combat, End of the roman empire etc etc.
Gladiator is an absolute MASTERPIECE, Avitar is a pile of crap. Gladiator is one of my all time favorite. It hase a cast of briliant actory, a good story line, fantasic music and amasing action and scenery. In time it will be a well love classic such as Mary Poppins is regarded today, or in the past. I hope AI is given the same recognition. I have no time for throw away trash such as the Pirrates of the carabiean films or Toy story 3 >: (
