I don't know that we actually found the "true" problem but we just hard reset it and it finally started working again.
He has since moved went through two other phones since this one but they weren't kazrs

I know your troubles, mine is doing the same thing and it is only a few months old. It hasn't been dropped or water damaged. Kinda frustrating. What ended up being the problem?
