(although I question the friend who captured the footage and decided to sell it to tabloid papers in the first place) Even Mary's brother and bff was there as well.

The Dutch, Belgian, Swedish, Norwegian, and Spanish monarchies are in the same boat as the Danes - very popular. Besides, no one can fake being in love or being genuine, and that's how Prince Frederick comes across - very real.

@EvanC0912 That very much depends on what languages you master. If any of those are Norwegian or Swedish, you're well on your way. German or English will get you some of the way too. If you do not know any Germanic languages, there's a long way to go. Usual hardships when learning Danish seems to occur with pronunciation, at least compared with languages where you just have to learn a simple alphabet, and then you're basically done.

yes. i also noticed that danish pronunciation is very challenging. even more than french. and that's my concern since my primary weakness in learning languages lies on my listening ability.

@dramagurl26 Pretty much I think. She had been studying the danish language for a while at that point, and I believe she understood a lot, even if her ability to express herself through the language was still challenging at times. I doubt there was much she didn't understand.

As of late..they are having marital problems....he originally wanted to marry a danish model but his mother objected...and so the queen didnt take to mary so she had her sign a premarital agreement and mary did sign it...to test or perhaps to disuade mary from marrying Prince Frederik the queen had mary sign an even more unfavorable premarital agreement and mary did... the queen wanted her son to marry royalty not a commoner and an australian one at that.

Mary lived and worked in Denmark for over a year before they were married. I think if you have lived in a country for awhile your  going to pick up on the accent and language quicker then you would through a classroom. She also had a tutor I believe after she was engaged and she had Fred to practice on!

I wouldn't be surpirsed if she was able to understand most of what he was saying.
