If you have pain over your body, I think you need to look at your entire lifestyle. Do you take frequent breaks? Do you work out with weights to strengthen your muscles and joints? Do you hydrate yourself enough? Is your diet balanced? Are you getting a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio a day? If not, change those aspects of your lifestyle first. The problem may not be your chair at all.
2) Mouse pad and cup holder should be on the same side, unless you are making it for ambidexterous people.
3) It looks cheap (not that I'm saying it is, but you have a really hard competition in this field which doesn't look like yours.
4) marketting in this field must be very hard, trying to contact someone like Kungen from Ensidia or someone like that might get your ball rolling, if they do endorse things like this.
Looks like for a big guy like me it would be very difficult to get out of after leaning back, going on experience. An easily reachable side lever you could pull on to help yourself up would be very helpful. Also, a better solution for the mouse is a trackball which you don't have to move at all (kind w/ the ball on the left or on top), if you can get used to it.
good idea but not quite the thing for us big folks and those who need dual screens and ambidextrous mice. I have an approximation to the ideal with a lazboy and a tilted hospital bedside table on casters to hold screens and speakers. Lazboy arms are wide enough to work for ambidextrous micing.
@dwaynedibbly I believe you to be very correct in your opinion. After a few hours of gaming that person should get up and go do something outside for awhile or just clean up around the home to get themselves moving. I go for walks when the weather permits.
i would like the arm... i am set up in a big lazyboy.. just need something for my keyboard (wireless) i use a 32 inch tv as a monitor... any chance?? thanks
For the same price of this chair(if $995) you could get a decent computer, ergonomic office chair and a desk. Sorry to break your dream but if you ever get one sold, I would buy the stuff listed above. There was really no reason to put in much effort even if the thought was great.
(?) Lounger $35, Superglue $4, Modified Lamp holder $30, Wood $20, time to build + money spend + trying to get over 1000% profit + making this video
= PRICELESS
(the numbers are fabricated but you get the point)
That is a great chair buddy!, the amazing thing is the cup holder, mouse holder and the adjustable laptop stand, but the only bad thing is the jerky laptop stand, your brain will not forgot that, it will be more disturbing when you are doing something more interesting and too keen stuff.
Actually I found out that's just a Lafuma chair ($150) or some copy of it, many manufactures seem to make them. Attaching the Ergotronics arm ($180) is neat idea but I don't don't about tripling the value neat.
@ArchNME Yeah, I see so many zero gravity chairs like that, you can get them starting at like, $60 at walmart or target. Man, I wish I could sell $200, MAYBE $250 worth of hardware for $900. Sucker born every minute. Not saying it's not a comfy setup, but it's a DIY setup and not worth $700 for somebody to drill some holes in a chair and screw together a mouse tray. For that much at least make it look better than a high school shop project.
Shouldn't be staring at your screen for 3 hours. I did that and now my eyes are fucked long distance, now I can go for more then 3 hours seeing the damage is already done :\
@DemonAMVs Well pretty much everyone with a job in an office stares at a computer for 8 hours a day then goes home and stares at a TV for another 2 or 3 hours in the evening. They may take brief breaks in between to stare at the tiny little screen on their cell phone. Like I said, if what you are saying was an actual issue it would be epidemic.
@jeeaaman I had troubles finding the chair on his site also, but found it under the curious title of "Portable Singularity Ergonomic Workstation (PSEW)". Ironically, the URL is earth360[dot]com/chair[dot]html
I like the look of the chair but wonder what postage to Australia would cost?..

Where's the space for books, documents, etc? I'll just stick with a conventional desk.

Excellent! The Lafuma are good but are not the best zero gravity recliners per se. Best value for mioney though.
