Some counties seceded from the states that seceded. But little of that makes the history books. The same principle with Racial issues exist today. texas was part of the south side it is considered conquered territory it can't just break away from the U.S legally unless there is a breech of statehood contract on part of the.U.S and if tx breeches the contract then the U.S had the option to boot tx out .at this time tx has the option to divide into five seperate states also.the war between the north and south was not civil because the south had its own govt, president. military and constitution .civil is two sides under one govt
General U.S. Grant held the belief that all original 13 colonies/states had the right to secceed, as did Texas. Those States which were made up of the Louisanna Purchase could not seceed since the lands which made up those states were bought and paid for by the United States.

If the States have the will of their people behind them, State sovereignty and Independence are still possible. When lincoln "freed" the slaves he only did it in the "rebellious" ( which were no longer a part of his country) states not anywhere in the north. Some counties seceded from the states that seceded. But little of that makes the history books. The same principle with Racial issues exist today. There is a stronger sense of racism now in black than there is in whites. Racism would die quicker if Jackson, Sharpston, and the NAACP would just SHUT UP!

@InconvientNecessity As I recall it is the same Constitution that we had in the middle 1850's when 13 states did secede from the Union. Secession, while it may be illegal, can happen as it did then. If the States have the will of their people behind them, State sovereignty and Independence are still possible. Under English law it was illegal for the colonies to declare their independence, happened anyway. Laws are only binding if the people chose to follow them.

Bombs will relieve you of your small arms, and the point behind what I was saying is that they would most likely attack while we where fighting each other during the second civil war. This country is divided between whites that are scared, and mad that they're being out breed by minorities, and the minorities themselves that are trying to better their lives in the face of structural and strategic manipulation fro whs.
