  • Cracked my screen today... I will definitely be using this to help replace it. thanks

  • what about the glue? do i need to apply some more now that the new screen is on? if so is it available on the web site?

  • @ODDMcCOY174 New adhesive is suggested to keep the new screen securely in place. It is available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • @RepairsUniverse

Where would I go to buy the replacement screen?

  • @Solracian The full screen assembly is suggested, and these are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • my ipod is not turning on, and there is no crack or anything

what type of damage is it? water?

  • @OnOffRebootMe It is possible it is water damaged. I would connect it to a computer and see if it is detected by iTunes. If it does, then the motherboard is likely working fine and is likely a screen issue. If it is not detected, it is likely the motherboard is fried and it would be considered "totaled".

  • @RepairsUniverse Before buying any repair parts from Repair Universe, note the return policy. Items can only be requested for return within 10 day of ordering and you will not likely receive the item for 4-5 days. This leaves 5 days for requesting a return.

  • @RepairsUniverse my lock button to turn the screen on and off wont work its oushed down how do i fix it??? can i fix it???

  • @BaneWolf21 Normally this is just caused by a bad alignment, damaged button, or the button just needing a cleaning. I would suggest following this guide and cleaning the button with a Q-Tip with a small bit of alcohol.

  • @RepairsUniverse how does taking apart the screen help me fix my lock button???

  • @RepairsUniverse what do i do after i take the screen apart???

  • @BaneWolf21 You will need to remove the screen, etc, to be able to remove the button and realign, clean, etc.

Does the button feel sticky, or just "locked" in a down position?

If it is just really sticky you can attempt to clean from the outside, but normally you will need to access the button from the inside.

  • @RepairsUniverse its locked in a down position

  • @BaneWolf21 Likely going from the inside will be the only way to get the issue resolved. Follow this video until you have full access to this button and its flex cable.

  • Awesome

  • @MORNINGBEAR201 Thank you!

  • do you think you can put a bluetooth transmitter in there?

  • @010Aapje Not too much room in there, but with the right knowledge, I don't see why not.

  • sorry that i ask many questions but the srew has 4 3 or flat sides?

  • @bullletrium780 No problem at all. The screws have 4 sides, a "+". Very common screw in Apple devices. Small phillips, size "00".

  • where could we buy new adhesive?

  • @12calitaylor New adhesive can be found at RepairsUniverse (dot) com under our "Repair Tools" section.

  • and how much will it cost? and and what type of screws does a nano have inside?

  • @bullletrium780 We ship all parts out the same day in most cases. Time for shipping will depend on which method is selected. Feel free to check out our shipping policy on our website at RepairsUniverse (dot) com. The Nano 6th uses small phillips screws.

  • how long does shipping and handling take?

  • When I put the new screen on do i have to add more glue?

  • @PlayLoud1000 Yes, new adhesive will be required as all the old adhesive will likely come off with the old screen assembly.

  • ok thanks a lot!!!

  • @mrmeat2222 No problem at all! Good luck with your repair!

  • The main problem I have in following this is getting the screen off at the beginning. I notice your video fades from blow-drying the unit to taking it off. How long should I be heating it for? My screen won't budge!

  • @kalifire Heating normally only takes 30-60 seconds. It is better to heat it more often than to do extreme heat all at once.

  • where can you get a safe pry tool?? I need to fix one and i dont want to use something else and end up damaging it but not usuing the right tool!!

  • @mrmeat2222 Pry tools, including the safe open pry tools, can be found at RepairsUniverse (dot) com under our "Repair Tools" section.

  • @RepairsUniverse where can i find them in a store because i have to fix it sooner then later and cant really wait for them to ship to my house/

  • @mrmeat2222 Possible other pry tools can be guitar picks, small flat head screwdrivers, etc. Safe pry tools can sometimes be found at local repair shops as well.

  • this is funny cuz i used a heater in my house then i used a safety pin to pry it open and i lost on of the screws i also just did it to see how it looked like inside and see how it worked i did it like just 10 min ago the ipod has no harm i was suprised

  • @171108522930776 Interesting way of disassembling. Very creative. The Nano 6th is surprisingly simple inside.

  • @RepairsUniverse ik i thought it was gonna be all like microsoft stuff and all microchip boards and stuff but it had like 4 wires a batter and a smart bored

  • @171108522930776 Yes, Apple did a good job keeping it simple with the new Nano. Makes repairs fairly easy as well.

  • How can I fix the glass screen on the 6g nano my shaterd -.-

  • @colingawellover1 Mine Broke to!

If you find out, PLEASE TELL ME

  • @MegaMajorMario I will I promise

  • @colingawellover1 We suggest you replace the full screen assembly (LCD display and glass touch screen digitizer) as Apple has fused together these screens making it very difficult to separate them without damaging the other screen. A full screen replacement will resolve the issue. These are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com this is what he said to me

  • @MegaMajorMario We suggest you replace the full screen assembly (LCD display and glass touch screen digitizer) as Apple has fused together these screens making it very difficult to separate them without damaging the other screen. A full screen replacement will resolve the issue. These are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • @colingawellover1 We suggest you replace the full screen assembly (LCD display and glass touch screen digitizer) as Apple has fused together these screens making it very difficult to separate them without damaging the other screen. A full screen replacement will resolve the issue. These are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • @RepairsUniverse thank you :D

  • @colingawellover1 No problem at all all. Let us know if you have any other questions.

  • What could be wrong if my + button isn't working? Will i able to fix it without braking my screen with heat blower?

  • @chokeonrocks Will the button physically press down or is it stuck? This is normally a very simple fix. Just heat the screen assembly, remove the screen and internal panel, from there you should have access to the volume buttons. They can either be removed or cleaned on the inside and outside. Q-Tips and a very small bit of alcohol work best.

  • @RepairsUniverse could you post a video of how to do that because i have the same issue with mine but the + volume button won't press down?

  • @ENERGYSMYNAME Yes, that is the same situation. I would suggest trying to clean the outside of the button with a Q-tip and a small bit of alcohol. We are sorry, but we have many videos lined up to do currently and do not have time to show this any better than it has already been explained.

  • @NamuPhuchi1 please reply back quick as it's my mums

  • @NamuPhuchi1 We would suggest the LCD with Touch Screen Digitizer. The reason being - the screens are fused together. It is possible to separate them, however it is very difficult and dangerous. For an extra few bucks, we highly suggest ordering the full screen assembly. It will make your repair much more simple.

  • @RepairsUniverse can you find the LCD with Touch Screen Digitizer in another website in England ?

  • @NamuPhuchi1 I am unsure if other vendors are available in England, however RepairsUniverse does ship internationally.

  • Hey, Mi Ipod Nano 6G went to the wasmachine :'(

I let it dry 1 week and it does not turn on and Itunes does not detect it, then I try open it to clean inside and it works, Itunes detect it now but the screen is black without light.

that means the screen is still wet? or is it broken and i have to replace it?

    Thanks for your answer ;-)

  • @halinver Sounds like you got very lucky! If iTunes detects the part then that normally means there is no motherboard damage (that would cause the Nano to be "totaled"). The LCD screens are sensitive to water. I would suggest replacing the full screen assembly, as replacing only the LCD is very difficult as the touch screen and LCD are fused together. Replacing the full screen assembly is a very simple swap and should resolve the issue. These are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com

  • My sleep button is stuck, how can I disassemble my Nano to clean the button?

  • @pinktortue You can follow this video to gain access to the buttons.

  • hey my ipod still works and i can touch the screen and it will respond to touch but it has no image will replacing the screen make it work like normal or could it be something else.

  • @Dyter1 Sounds like a LCD issue. Replacing the screen assembly would be suggested - This is because the touch screen digitizer and LCD screen are fused together and attempting to remove only one screen normally results in damage. The screen assembly is a very simple replacement. These can be found at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • @RepairsUniverse i have the same problem as theowbert but if i put a flash light to the screen i can see the apps and it plays the song its just the screen is really really dark and i need a flash light and its starting to get really boring picking up the flash light and looking for a song please help!

  • @MrSlaytamer Yes, this just sounds like the LCD (backlight) has stopped functioning. Replacing the screen assembly will resolve the issue. These are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • i need help fixing my sleep button its stuck

  • @saaaaaasssssyyyy I would suggest disassembling your Nano and using Q-tips with a small bit of alcohol to clean the button.

  • Hey i crack my screen.... =( ... how to replace it???? it looks ugly with the crack X(

  • @Shahrul1313 You can use this guide here to replace the screen. The Nano 6th Gen uses a screen assembly with the LCD and touch screen digitizer fused together, making just replacing a single screen (either glass touch screen or the LCD screen) very difficult. We suggest replacing the full screen assembly which is a much simpler repair. These are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • Can anyone give me some help? I had been skateboarding and I completely fell off of the board and onto the iPod. The screen is shattered completely across, left-to-right. Fortunately, the iPod still works, but plays songs that is not showing on the screen. Any help on where to get a new screen now that I know how to take it off? :/

  • @EMontoya8 Hi,

You need the screen replacement. You can find these at RepairsUniverse (dot) com. We include instructions.

  • @EMontoya8 same happen to me today =/

  • @RepairsUniverse i left my ipod in my pants and it got washed, it wont turn on, but if i plug it into itunes it detects the ipod, however the screen is still off, not sure if it still works or not, but what do you think is wrong (component-wise), how will i fix it, and what will i need (parts etc)?

    thanks

  • @theowbert If the iPod is detected by iTunes, that is a very good sign that it is only a display issue. I would suggest replacing the LCD + Touch screen digitizer assembly available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com. The reasoning for the assembly is that the LCD screen and digitizer are fused together, making it very difficult to replace only the LCD screen without damaging the touch screen digitizer. Tool wise you will only need adhesive strips and a small phillips screwdriver.

  • @RepairUniverse

Hey. I've got the following problem: I've ordered a screen and it has only one contact at the end of that cable thingy thats coming out of the screen. Is it possible to use that screen anyway?

  • @Moa991 Likely you ordered only the touch screen digitizer or only the LCD screen. The issue with this is Apple fuses together the two screens, making removing one a bit of a pain. This is why we always suggest the touch screen / LCD assembly available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com. It is a much simpler repair.

  • I need help. This happened a few months ago. My iPod Nano 6th Gen went through the washer and dryer. I tried putting it in a box of rice, and it didn't work. It will turn on but the screen doesn't have any backlight. You'll have to put it directly at a lamp to see it. Can somebody PLEASE HELP ME!

  • @EointheGuy101 If the device itself is working properly then it is likely you will just need a screen replacement. The Nano 6th gen has the touch screen and LCD screen fused together. I would suggest replacing the full screen assembly. This will make the repair much more simple. These can be found at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • Okay Bro I'll Try Wish Me Luck!. Hopefully I Dont Brake It

  • @MrBoobiesLove Take it slow and heat it up pretty good, you shouldn't run into any issues. Let us know if you run into any issues.

  • @RepairsUniverse Okay Bro Thankx Hope It Works I Havent Still Work On It Because My Friend Doesnt Want Me To Do Anything Because She Think Ima Break It D:

  • @MrBoobiesLove Good luck when you do. Honestly it is likely something simple. We take these apart all the time without an issue. This guide is exactly what we do, so if you heat it properly and do as instructed you should be able to diagnose the issue.

  • My Ipod Lock Broke I Press It And It Wont Turn On And When I Connect It To My Computer It Turns On Someone Help Me Please!....

  • @MrBoobiesLove Is the button stuck or not pressing properly? You may be able to disassembly and un-stick the button from the inside. This is a fairly simple way to diagnose the issue.

  • @RepairsUniverse Okay Thankx Bro I'll Try That But I Doubt It But How Do I Un.Stick It?.

  • @MrBoobiesLove No problem at all. It is always worth a try. It depends on if the button/flex cable is physically damaged or if it is just stuck. If it is stuck you can use a Q-tip with a small bit of alcohol to clean the area (stay away from flex cables and electronics though).

  • @RepairsUniverse Okay Bro Ha And The Funny Thing Is That Is My Friends I Broke Her Ipod>.< Wish Me Luck Bro So It Wont Brake

  • @MrBoobiesLove I have the same problem, the button is stuck, dd you solve the problem??

  • @drak3680444 Not Yet.. How About You?. Its Wierd Right

  • Thank you so much for this video! It helped me so much! I was just wondering, my screen isn't sticking properly, did I just ruin my iPod, or can I use a adhesive? if so, what kind?

  • @PauChiChiBang No problem at all, glad you found the video helpful! If it is not sticking properly it is likely just an issue with the adhesive. I would suggest applying some new adhesive, the adhesive strips available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com have found to be the most effective.

  • Thanks for the video. Greatly appreciated.

  • @cpslomatt No problem at all! Glad you found it useful.

  • My nano is dead guys?

    /watch?v=2b9vBMk1aAk

  • i dont understand why the 6th gen repair parts are so expensive its so small.. i recently got an ipod nano 6th gen from my friend he said it doesnt work i got it to work but the touch screen doesnt work on it everything else does can someone help me with a cheaper way please

  • @gvitalie420 Just because the part is small does not mean it is less expensive to manufacture. In fact, in many cases it is the opposite. Also, many models Apple has produced lately has the LCD screen and touch screen fused together, making it very difficult to replace only the outer touch screen or the inner LCD screen. Check out RepairsUniverse (dot) com for our current parts and prices for the Nano 6th generation.

  • Can someone tell me how to fix it when the on button gets jammed

  • @jdmbeaner182 You should be able to disassemble and dislodge it from the inside. You may want to (carefully) us a small flat head screwdriver to do this.

  • A REPAIR universe THanK you 4 The Reply But it Wont Be none Of thAT i Actually Got Mad At it anD Broke iT Entirely lol dIDNT rEALLy cARE

  • is there a way jus to change the screen without changing the digitizer.?

  • @SoStuckUp12 The glass (outer) touch screen is also referred to as the "digitizer". If you mean the LCD screen, it is possible, but not suggested. The touch screen and LCD screen are fused together and are very difficult to separate without causing damage to the other screen. We suggest replacing the screen assembly, it is much simpler and safer. These are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • Is there a way to fix the volume buttons? Just lastnight my volume button to turn it up got stuck and now when I click it. it wont make that clicking sound. It wont turn up the Ipod. I need Help =(!!!!!!

  • @fridayman123 I would disassemble and attempt to figure out why the button is not clicking, possibly you may be able to dislodge from the inside.

  • Can't I just go to the apple store?

  • @tforkirbiie Apple does not want to repair your device, they want you to replace it. Usually this includes ridiculous repair costs directly from them.

  • A Repair Universe How DO you Fix a white screen ON the 6 gen

  • @MrQbeezy It depends on the cause of the white screen. It can either be an issue with the motherboard, or LCD screen. If iTunes recognizes the iPod, then it is likely that the LCD screen is faulty, and when replaced, the white screen will be repaired. If it is not recognized, the motherboard is likely at fault.

  • Just had a look on eBay for replacement screen and on the conector strip they have one conector whilst on your video there are 2 conectors you disconnect from the mother board????

  • @Chis100970 PLEASE NOTE: the touch screen and LCD screen are fused together and therefore, quite difficult to remove without damaging the other screen. The item on eBay is likely just the LCD screen or touch screen. This repair can be done, but is fairly difficult. We highly suggest the screen assembly, which removes the entire process of separating the screens. These are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • @wilfulcrow Replacement screens can be found at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • where can i get a new screen for it????????

  • @lilgargy Replacement screens can be found at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • @ilyaschneider98 Happy we could help!!

  • how do u glue it back on?

  • @cocopuffs6511 You can reuse the adhesive or reapply fresh adhesive strips. These are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • @RepairsUniverse you guys do not carry adhesive strips for this ipod nano....wtf..

  • @LONGxLIVExTHExSTANG Check the tools section. These are the adhesive strips to use for the nano 6th.

  • have you noticed that this ipod nano 6g don't crash like the ipod classic

  • @JediMark05 We did notice this as well, the Nano 6th seems surprisingly reliable.

  • my ipod nano screen is cracked not the lcd, is that mean i need the replace the lcd screen too?

and how to glue the screen back on?

  • @OnOffRebootMe The glass and LCD on this model are fused together. Because of this we recommend the LCD + Touch screen replacement. We have these at RepairsUniverse (dot) com

  • @RepairsUniverse If one buys only the lcd replacement is the same as nothing?

  • @2000ursul If you are patient you can remove the digitizer from the LCD screen without damage, however this is a risk we prefer not to take with our repairs. The assembly is much quicker to install.

  • if someone broke his ipod touch 6g and cant repair it dont throw or break it send i to me or mail me even if its broken i want to have one just for fun!!!!!!!!!

  • is their anything that can help one that went through the washer?

  • @PinoyG94 Put your Nano in a bucket of rice in a warm area overnight. That should absorb the water left inside. Then try using it and see if there are any issues. Sometimes theres damaged to the touch screen, motherboard, or even headphone jack. It all depends. Thats what makes water damage so difficult. You can find replacement parts at RepairsUniverse (dot) com if you can figure out the issues (if any). Good luck!

  • any way i can get the clip repaired mine randomly snapped of

  • where do I go to get the tools and the new screen?

  • @TheSanShyn You can find all the tools required and the replacement screen at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • Very clear instructions. Thank you. One question, what do you use as adhesive to attach the new screen to the iPod housing ? And is it included in a full repair kit ?

  • @pumpkinhubby We recommend the adhesive strips. You can find these in the "Repair Tools" section at RepairsUniverse (dot) com

  • @RepairsUniverse i accidentaly dropped my ipod nano 6g today and the screen cracked.. but it still works, it didn't really alter anything. but do you think i should still get it repaired? will it work for longer if i leave it cracked?

  • @filikix11 If you have cracked the touch screen it is possible to still use your Nano, this is classified as a cosmetic issue. However the cracks can spread quickly and is prone to more damages easier. It is likely you will eventually need to replace the screen. You can check out our replacement screens for the Nano 6th Gen at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.

  • my screen is cracked and plus everything is fuzzy.... it kinda still works....can this be fixed or repalced ????

  • @daprohecy11 Replacing the touch screen and LCD screen will resolve the issue. At RepairsUniverse (dot) com we offer a LCD and touch screen digitizer pre attached which makes installation quick and easy.

  • also only the glass is cracked, while the actual sceen display functions normally would i only need a new digitizer screen or would it be recommended to replace both?

  • @USAWres222 Because they are fused together we recommend the full screen replacement. It is easier to install.

  • Hey this has been by far the most comprhensive and direct video which identifies my issue with my ipod. I was hoping to purchase a new screen from your website and was wondering when would be the soonest possible time you guys would restock in screens.

  • @USAWres222 Thanks for your kind comments. We hope to have these screens back in stock in 1-2 weeks.

  • @RepairsUnivers,,, i have the glass broked but i dont kow wich i have to buy, the touch panel or the screen?? Y can use the ipod as always but i dont know :( help me

  • @hiluxps The easiest way to fix this is with the LCD + Touch screen digitizer replacement. We have just ran out of stock @ RepairsUniverse (dot) com but hope to have these back in soon.

  • what is the digitizer?? mine works fine, the screen is the only thing that is broken, but i keep hearing about the "digitizer"........help!!!!

  • @1Pueblito Digitizer is basically the glass with the touch screen. The glass has the touch screen fused to it.

You can find Nano 6th Gen screen replacements at RepairsUniverse (dot) com

  • @RepairsUniverse ......so what is sold on repairs universe dot com i believe is around 29 dollars is that the digitizer......i see on your website the screen with two connec tions coming out of it, is that the digitizer?????

  • @1Pueblito Tee screen with 2 connections is the combined LCD + Touch screen digitizer.

  • Get~~'IPODS'",Now.'"

    Copy`,.The,'~URL"",

  • what if the screen is just cracked can you replace the ldc and keep the digitizer? so replace just the cracked screen?

  • @kenneth23a I would assume no since these are probably adhered together like all the latest apple products.

  • This is a strange problem...but the screen actually apears to be peeling off, can this damage the iPod?

  • @MrAndrewjs The screen is glass. How can it peel off? Is it a screen protector or something you have on the glass that is peeling off?

  • @RepairsUniverse

Ok, let me rephrase - the screen is 'lifting' out of its case, as the screen is raised it probably got caught on something. It may actually be a glue problem...

  • @MrAndrewjs Yes, the screen is held in with adhesive. If it wont stick back on its own you will need new adhesive. You can find adhesive strips at RepairsUniverse (dot) com

  • @RepairsUniverse where do u buy the screen?

  • @maxbdipset You can find the screen replacements at RepairsUniverse (dot) com

  • @RepairsUniverse where do u buy the screen?

  • mine got washed in the washer and ik it works but how do i fix the screen the light wont turn on but it syncs and i heard it say low battery

  • @drewbykinsey Sounds like the LCD screen is damaged. A replacement should fix this issue.

  • Does your digitizer include adhesive to put on the new one?

  • @gamer25000 No, but we have the adhesive strips in the tools section on the site @ RepairsUniverse (dot) com for $2.99

  • yo can you help me my ipod wont turn on and when i plug it in it does nothing how can i fix this?

  • @hakedsup How did this start? Any water damage, fall etc?

  • i went to 5 places and radio shack and they even didnt know how to open the fucking thing...thanks for the video

  • @anubisswift No problem. Glad we could help. Its pretty easy to open once you know how.
