@maxveress Yes, that is what people do with most trophies, or they even take the whole skin to tan. When a mount is made they only use the skin, the body is fake. On fish the skin is mostly put around a foam body built to the size of the animal, not sure what they do with the full body mounts of big game.

Trophy hunting in Africa is a rich mans sport. It will cost thousands of dollars for each big game animal. And you are not allowed to bring any meat home. @maxveress Yes, that is what people do with most trophies, or they even take the whole skin to tan. When a mount is made they only use the skin, the body is fake. On fish the skin is mostly put around a foam body built to the size of the animal, not sure what they do with the full body mounts of big game.

I am a hunter, but do not agree with trophy hunting. If you are not going to eat the meat, then you should not harvest the animal.
Trophy hunting in Africa is a rich mans sport. It will cost thousands of dollars for each big game animal. And you are not allowed to bring any meat home. It is not really hunting, it is more like target practice. The African guide walks you to a bluff and points at the animal to shoot. Not my cup of tea...

For twenty years in Alaska I observed dozens of black & brown (Grizzly) bears & have a 'real world' understanding of them. Bears are the second most intelligent animal I know, with humans first. 1. I love hunting. yes i eat the meat and keep teh hide and shit, but in the end, yes, i hunt for the thrill of the kill. BUT i stay within my permit limits, and only shoot trophies. I hunt white tail deer and ive been dying to see a black bear. You will never see me shoot a doe, or a spike or a cub. Yea i kill animals but i still respect them and admire them. BUT to say we kill a defenseless creature, u try sitting in below freezing weather for 5 hours straight perfectly quiet and scentless
