  • True man...miss you Dale sr

  • 28 clipping his competition. I remember KSchrader (after he knew he was ok) "Yea I saw it was Dale an drove straight for him !"

  • This wreck was much worse vs the 2001 wreck at Daytona

  • 0 dislikes? Amazingly awesome.

It was truly incredible how he got up after crashing that hard. What a driver Big E was, RIP.

  • Actually wetanddry24 he broke his collar bone, that is why he is clutching his chest with his right hand.

  • he broke his pelvis in this crash and walked to the ambulance. that's all you need to know about dale earnhardt

  • I find it hard to believe that he walked away from this crash, but the one in 2001 killed him. I would much rather go out in a crash like this, instead of that one.

  • Me too, i quit watching it after Sr. went on to Heaven. Jr. can't drive like his dad, though, i wish he could. I always liked the stock cars back in the 80's, they just looked more bad ass looking than the ovals they drive now days...ovals meaning the shape of the stock cars are oval. lol

  • @001GenLee

Jr. is a good driver, the problem is he doesn't have the killer instinct that his dad had.

  • @PYLrulz1984 I agree, But Jr is trying this year, He Kept getting 1st in the Bud shootout.

  • you know a driver is a legend when they go airbourne and walk away, gordon, first time in 20 years.

  • thumbs up if Daytona should be renamed Dale Earnhardt Superspeedway

  • @MrCprecordings That's dumb lol

  • If 40% of our nations youth had half that much heart...We would be OK as a nation. This country has been pussified by entertainment media. Fuck michael jackson and whitney houston! what about the brother or sister or son or daughter that died fighting for our country? Where the fuck is there half time show? just sayin.

  • @Revlimiter37

Sadly, it "doesn't sell", or at least some big wig with no concept of reality doesn't think that's the case.

  • that's how the kid,Dale jr learned to wreck all the cars he has on Hendrick.

  • i quit watching when they changed the point rules last year i only saw 5 races and that was daytona 500 the shootout, martinsville, california and las vegas i thought.

  • what i cant believe is this was worse than his fatal crash and he walked away from this one and he died on his fatal crash which was only a wall hit.....in 2011 Jimmie Johnson crashed the wall about the same impact as Sr.'s fatal crash and survived and Dale Survived this one...BUT there's a difference.....on this crash nothing happened to the interior parts and his fatal crash his seatbelt broke. This makes me wonder alot........ but RIP dale

  • its still amazing how he walked away from a crash like this, but his fatal crash didnt look half as bad. i find myself wishing quite a bit that he would have been caught up in the big one in that '01 Daytona 500, then that last lap wreck wouldnt have happened how it did.

  • He Died Doin What He Loved RIP3 i miss him he died when i was 6 or 7 i forget but it devasated me even that young to know he died i know this isnt teh crash that did.

  • this crash looked worse then 01 daytona, but it wasn't, why? Well look at how he hit the wall, it was at an angle, which didn't have as much G-forces as the head-on collision at daytona. Look at the amount of time he had before he hit the wall, probably about 1 second longer then his crash at daytona. This caused him to slow down and not hit the wall at 170 mph, he probably hit it at 140 or 130. All these things contribute to him walking out of the car in this crash, unfortunately not in 2001

  • That day in '01, was the first, and, is the only time i'd ever seen my dad or my grandpa cry

  • And this shit didn't kill him?

    FUCK YOU GOD!

  • @Kranical would you have rather him died before he won the 500?

  • @thosepeeps1234554321 I didn't want him to die, period.

  • I remember this race. Big E ended up with a broke collar bone and was back the next week.

  • NASCAR DID IMPROVE SAFETY GOING INTO THE NEW CENTURY IN FACT THE race where he passed away they had the hanse device but was not mandatory to have he told lil E to use it but did not use it himself never know wut might of been

  • watch labonte in the 5... he runs somethin over and he cant steer. i bet he was like tuuuuuuuuuuuuurn

  • Is this the one where he died?

  • @gsxrbuckeye

No, he died at the 2001 Daytona 500. He broke his collarbone in this one, I believe.

  • nascar isn't the same without dale sr, I quit watching it after he passed away. RIP DALE

  • @Glockadeth Same with me... I quit.

  • @Glockadeth Same here... NASCAR just doesn't have that "competitive edge" with Sr. gone. I admit, I'm a Ford fan but Earnhardt was my favorite driver and not because he drove a Chevy, he was an excellent and very distinguished driver, period, no matter what you gave him to drive.

  • @Glockadeth did he die in the hospital

  • notice that something gets under terry labonte's car and lift the front of the car.

  • When we left the track headed for New Orleans I pushed a guy wearing a "Yates Rocket" tshirt to the ground and into the mud. I don't regret it.

  • @Bloomer28 typical earnhardt fan

  • @Bloomer28 you sound like a pussy who THINKS he is a bully, till someone slaps you across your bitch ass face. earnhardt sucked.

  • @Bloomer28 Id love to see you try and push THIS Yates fan! Tough guy!

  • Jesus thats a really bad crash yet the one he died in wasnt that bad

  • Even after that big crash, Dale Earnhardt only miss one race, wow! One tough Customer, indeed.

  • He broke his sternum in this wreck.. And still raced the Glen road course the next weekend!! Tuff for sure!!

  • Doctorwinomod not true explain the daytona 500

  • WOW

  • GREAT VIDEO!!

Nothing makes my day more than finding another Earnhardt ownage...But no one punked him out more than Jeremy Mayfield.

Petty is the KING!! Earnhardt wouldn't have made the grade to serve on his royal pit-crew...

  • @DoctorWINOMD why so angry?

  • I must say, Sterling Marlin must have a problem with Dale.

  • @IndyB25 Every race Earnhardt ever won was by wrecking the lead cars...Many drivers had an issue with Dale, privately...

  • @DoctorWINOMD Yeah....they'd say something out loud you'd have Sr. Nation hating you....cough cough Kyle Busch... Cough Cough.

  • @DoctorWINOMD you should watch your comments on here.dale sr.was the fucking man.if you got in his way he would rub you.but hell he said rubbing is racing.long live dale sr.but lets get it together kevin next year.make sr. proud.29 all the way

  • @hlr029 "watch what I say?"

Dale Sr is worm-chow...history...gone. Petty is the KING, always was, always will be. Kevin Harvick is currently the best driver in NASCAR, bar none... but will never be the KING. Jr, you aren't even in the running.

"Rubbing is racing"? Paint-swapping...Maybe...Bumping the leaders out of the race is not. That's for 12 year olds at a go-cart track.

My late, great 'uncle', Fireball Roberts, would have slapped Sr upside his head...

  • that could of killed him for sure! R.I.P Dale Earnhardt Number. Three Will always be number 1!

  • i cant belive he survived that crash unlike is 2001 daytona crash RIP Dale

  • 0:14 something lodged under Terry Labonte's car and lifted the front wheels off the ground. He basically was on a sled

  • @69mopar440 piece of earnhardt's car.

  • took marlin 5 more years to finally kill him

  • @iHydra Earnhardt drove down on Marlin at Daytona. Looks like another Earnhardt fan can't get his fucking facts straight.

  • @iHydra thats a moronic statement

  • and guess who? Marlin once again

  • What is this from?Ned Jarret 'almost flipped over' lol.Only if we could have seen this in 2001.RIP Dale .

  • @rhbcweatherdude then everyone Will be watching dale jr in the 2015 sautons 500

  • @27darthvader or the 2017 cricket wireless 500 (formerly Daytona 500) at the Coors light speedway (formerly Daytona)

  • That was a message to dale rip

  • What is this from

  • it makes you wonder how this didnt kill him but daytona did. rip

  • I was at that race on the infield between turn 1 and 2 were the crash ended at. got pics of some of the cars involved in the crash including Earnhardt's car. Didn't catch one of himself because of ambulance in the way.

  • FINALLY A GOOD QUALITY VIDEO!!!

  • Ernie was driving the # 28 car and he hit into the #4 car and that car hit Dale. Did ernie do this on purpose or was he just reckless as he always was? you decide for yorself. it does'nt matter now but Dale should have retired after this crash. Swirvin Ernie Irvan finaly got smart and quit, why did'nt Dale?

  • I think people would be more understanding about his death if it happened here instead of 2001. His crash is just one of those crashes where we expected him to get out and chew out Marlin for wrecking him. But of course, things went awry.

  • @dolphinmagic24fan His seatbelt broke on impact due to it being rotted and old. Nobody seems to remember this but if his seatbelt works on his 2001 crash,he may have survived that wreck!

  • @MrJsmyers Ru serious?

  • @marshalljimduncan Watch it and see how bad the wreck was Dale should have retired..Ervin caused the wreck...Swirvin Irvan was smart enough to leave racing!

  • @MrJsmyers I doubt the seatbelt was old, much less rotted. Those cars are totally replaced every few races.

  • @MartenFe After doing some more research, his seatbelt did hold up on his fatal crash at Daytona. there was a piece in USA today that said his seatbelt was old and rotted. im like you i dont believe this is what happened. If you look up his autopsy it states that his seatbelt held.Im not gonna say anything bad here....It was pretty bad what I read about his injuries in the daytona crash in 2001.

  • @MrJsmyers I browsed through an autopsy account after reading your comment (it was a PDF file which I've no reason to believe isn't authentic). I didn't notice anything about a seatbelt (which wouldn't be cited in an autopsy anyway... Accident report, maybe?), but yes, I do not believe he would use a rotten seatbelt. Even if Earnhardt didn't care, Nascar would have (and, again, those cars are completely replaced every few races or so; I think only the lesser drivers use leftovers).

  • @dolphinmagic24fan I feel the same way about his death, as well as the death of Blaise Alexander later that year, and John Nemecheck. They just didn't look that bad. But often the crashes that look the worst.....aren't.

  • how did he live this and not daytona?

  • Almost got upside down? Cmon Ned you're better than that!

  • This crash at Talladega seemed worse than the crash in which he lost his life at Daytona. It is really unfortionate that Auto racing series did not use these crashes in the mid 90's to improve safety heading into the new century, or we could have a few more drivers still alive.

  • @rjl1184 Great take. I agree with you 100%

  • @rjl1184 I highly agree dale sr and kenny irwin would be alive if they did what you said.

  • @rjl1184 well they did they made the roof flaps and they did have the hans device in 2001 but it wasnt madnitory

  • @rjl1184 It is sad how they have to have the biggest star in NASCAR to die before they start getting serious about safety.

  • @theMstanglover How is the 1997 one kill him?

  • @twistedtornado100 I meant in general not this specific race.

  • @rjl1184: Yeah, I wish I could go back in time and convince them to make it safer.

  • @rjl1184 if they would've added the hons device in the mid 90's then Dale would be alive FOR SURE

  • @hightigh

Dale cracked his skull on the wheel, broke several ribs, and his seat belt failed and broke! All the others his seat belt did not break! If the seat belt worked he would be alive, maybe in the hospital for a week after the crash but, alive.

  • They didnt call him Swirvin' Irvin for nothing.

  • earnhardt broke his sternum in this crash i believe. because i remember being at the brickyard later that year and him needing help getting in and out of the car because of his body brace or some shit

  • If that wasnt fatal,... HOW THE FUCK WAS DAYTONA FATAL!!!?

  • @xJohnx228x Earnhardt hit the wall at a head on angle in Daytona and the seatbelt was loose so his head hit the steering wheel. In the crash he did not. He only broke a few ribs.

  • @TheHoodedCreature RIght! I forgot the seat belt was a factor in that....

  • @xJohnx228x So when Earnhardt struck the wall in 2001, what was it that exactly killed him? I mean did his head fly forward and hit the weel or did his chest hit the wheel?

  • @TheHoodedCreature Im not sure... My friend works for nascar. He said specific welds on the chassis broke on impact and they're not supposed to.

  • @TheHoodedCreature I believe it was a bunch of factors. Dale didn't wear the HANS device. When his car shot left then back to the right, he hit the wall head on at 150 plus miles an hour, a split second later Kenny Schrader hit the right side of his car so his head went forward and to his right at the same time. Needless to say that was it.

Dale Earnhardt: The best there (is) was and ever will be.

  • @hightigh Agreed 100%. I use him in my NASCAR Thunder Games. ^.^ Would he be racing today if he survived?

  • @TheHoodedCreature I would say he would have kept racing until he felt he couldn't get it done any longer. So... Yes.

  • IRVAN STARTED A LOT OF CRAP, ALL YOU IMMATURE BABIES SAYING CRAP ABOUT STERLING SHOULD SHUT UP HE DIDN'T CAUSE THIS OR THE 01 WRECK ,GOD!

  • Ernie Irvin is a destroyer

  • To be fair, the #28 car hit the #4 car.

  • I remember this race running late and they cut it off in my city to show golf. I was so pissed!

  • @NigarT yup

  • Fucking sterlin marlin suck a asshole almost killed dale sr

  • @Matthewtheechidna He was the main problem in Dale Srs death wreck to.

  • I was born 9 days after this :D

  • Oh and since he gave us a thumbs up... I gave you one for being awesome Dale =)

  • Glad Dale was okay... But he was sliding more sideways than he was at Daytona which was probably part of the reason he walked away from this one... Still a horrible crash but certain elements helped him that day... Daytona... Sadly he that was the last we'd ever see of The Indimidator =(

  • If the world saw 0:45 on February 18 2001, well you get the idea.......

  • "Almost got upside down" lol Ned.

  • Is this from the movie "Dale"?

  • is there an extended live video of this crash(replays, on-board cameras, etc?)

  • @ddebramms I think it was a seatbelt thing...

  • Don't understand how he survived this wreck but died on a smaller wreck at Daytona.

  • @tboneboy2010 Dale didnt "break his skull" as you put it.

He had a basal skull fracture, which basically separated the head from the spine.

And the car didnt do its job to protect the driver, because the roof had been caved in on him, which led to the "Earnhardt Bar" in the center of the windsheild section of the roll cage.

  • i dont understand how that didnt kill him and his missly crash in daytona of 2001 did.. i just dont get it

  • @Looktowardsthesky It was just his time.

  • @crb2011 thats crazy bro... i mean ur a hundred percent right but like just to realize that when its ur time its ur time u know...god works in misterious ways

  • i dont understand how that killed him and his missly crash in daytona of 2001 did.. i just dont get it

  • He ALMOST got upside down?

  • Dang that hit into the wall was hard!

  • ouch

  • Because of this crash they put in what is now called the Earnhardt bar to keep the roof from collapsing at the windsheild as it did here.

  • @ThomasJowers0 I thought that was installed after his death?

  • @rhett443 That was HANS and the SAFER idiot.

  • @ROBLOXdude95 Don't call me an idiot because I made a false statement that technically wasn't even a statement it was a question you fag.

  • how the hell is the quality so high

  • 'and eardhardt is on his feet'

if only we could've heard those words feb 18th.

he wouldn't let them cut the roof off, said he was getting out on his own.

servin irvan turned marlin into earnhardts #3

  • :20 seems so much like his crash in 2001, man....

  • This crash was horrifying. It's amazing Earnhardt survived.

  • This is a clip from the 'Dale' movie clearly.

  • @RyDogRidesTheBus no, this crash was real.

  • @Bluestorm5 I know that, duh! You've never heard of the 'Dale' movie? Where they take moments from Dale's life and put it into a movie. This is one of them!

  • @RyDogRidesTheBus I've heard and watched that movie.

  • man, marlin just had it in for him

  • Earnhardt was one of the best.

  • im kind of surprised that he died of something which didnt look fatal

  • @SPAZZY1912 thats what i mean, this crash is 10 time more wild than is fatal crash! Its stupid!

  • dale jrs crash at daytona this year was almost like a lesser version of this wreck..

  • @xmn86 try 1997 daytona wreck

  • @xmn86 Ummmmmm not even close.

  • @xmn86 I personally think that the Earnhardt Jr. crash in the 2010 Nationwide race was more similar to Dale's crash at the 1997 Daytona 500.

  • This music makes it seem like this was his fatal crash.

  • @Monkeyball480: It's from the movie Dale (if I'm not mistaken)...

  • damn that was bad
