The German military is upset because the plane is not living up to its original promised cargo weight, and the production has been set back often enough that many of its would-be customers are looking elsewhere.

If you are then post a video of your self pointing to the escape rope that I've installed ( the one with the red straps in the white bag) on the aft rail of the platform that gives you access to the maintance/escape hatch.

C-17 and M-400 are two different designs for two different visions. Europe has tried to find a replacement for the Transall C-160 (former paratrooper, I often jumped from C-160): super short takeoff and landing, versatility, and cost of maintaining reduced. Furthermore, turboprops offer a better consumer / power and are less fragile.
Given the fact that a Brititsh Challenger weighs 68.9 tons and the Max. Payload of the A400M is only 37 tons, exactly what tanks in the European armies weigh less than 37 tons that could fit on this aircraft as shown in the video?
It was never going to carry a main battle tank any more than a C130 can, that remains a capability only the C-17 will fulfill. The A400M will carry a warrior APC and it's that on the video.
As said before it fits between the C130J and the C-17ER, it goes a lot further and with a larger payload than a C130 but for real heavylift you need the C-17.
