Duty to discourage! I love it. However I am going to introduce a phrase of my own. Common Courtesy. Whether it’s getting on a lift, or taking a black diamond, common courtesy applies. Can’t get on a lift? Stay on the bunny hill. Can’t do a blue square? Stay on green circles. Point is, if you make a decision to do something, which you have no business doing for lack of skills, and it affects OTHER PEOPLE then I do find it my duty to discourage. Hone your skills where it will not affect anybody.

@gobo760 There is no flaw in my argument. There are places one can practice getting on a lift...most bunny hills have them. Just like greens, blues, and blacks are always a bit overlapping in the skill/ability needed for that run. You get really good at greens, jump up to the blues. However some people would rather skip gaining the abilities they need to tackle larger obstacles, and when this affects other people, then it is an issue with common courtesy.

Even the chair lift is difficult, and when some idiot that ignores the signs that read, "Expert Skier, You Better Be..." before you can even access this area screws up and contributes to an already long line moving even slower, they're gonna hear it. This isn't a family mountain, or some all loving hand holding utopia filled with unicorns and rainbows. It's Hunter.

Most of these people understand what skiing and snowboarding is about. You go with friends to have a good time, drink beer, and mess around. All levels of riders are welcome. Snowboarding and Skiing outside of the competitions is NOT comparable to competitive sports by any means.

Duty to discourage! I love it. However I am going to introduce a phrase of my own. Common Courtesy. Whether it’s getting on a lift, or taking a black diamond, common courtesy applies. Can’t get on a lift? Stay on the bunny hill. Can’t do a blue square? Stay on green circles. Point is, if you make a decision to do something, which you have no business doing for lack of skills, and it affects OTHER PEOPLE then I do find it my duty to discourage. Hone your skills where it will not affect anybody.

@gobo760 There is no flaw in my argument. There are places one can practice getting on a lift...most bunny hills have them. Just like greens, blues, and blacks are always a bit overlapping in the skill/ability needed for that run. You get really good at greens, jump up to the blues. However some people would rather skip gaining the abilities they need to tackle larger obstacles, and when this affects other people, then it is an issue with common courtesy.
