Pete, you're a stammering dufus. I designed the retro-stang back in the late 80's and Mays told me "No one wants old cars, kid." Now I think it's because I would have made all of you look stupid. I also discovered we should be running our cars on booze. That did not fly well. Today, I run on Aqualline, 60% water, 40% methanol. You guys don't even know what's really going on inside the cylinder. They're steam engines, and we're using gasoline to make the steam. Dang sleepwalkers.
Whether or not the SHO will be a success doesn't matter. What does matter is that replacing larger engines with smaller turbocharged engines makes sense now that turbolag is almost gone and direct injection eliminates mpg loss in normal driving.
Direct injection in the cylinder is definatley the future of the auto industry. Diesels have had this luxury for awhile and finally we can put it to use in gasoline engines.
First, they Peaty got the name wrong...it is not the Taurus SHOW...it's the Taurus S.H.O.
Second, it has two turbos...not one like is implied.
Third...Eco-boost is a joke...nothing ECO about it. The Hyundai Genesis gets the SAME mileage (17/25) as the SHOW. And it has a MUCH more desirable 4.6L, 375HP V8.

Why would you compare the MKEdge to a sedan?
And there is no "high demand" for a $40K Taurus.

Well...thanks for proving that Lincoln's stupid alphabet soup naming scheme needs to go.
I know the Taurus will outsell the Genesis...but the SHOW won't. It is overpriced, underdelivering, piggish, and bland...just like the original ones.
The original SHOW didn't sell because of those reasons...and Ford managed to keep that formula with the new (faux) one.

I'd prefer true luxury and performance with the Genesis.
The Lacrosse is nice while the Lincoln MKTaurus is a joke. Nowhere close to even a near-luxury car.

Uggg...where to begin...

Fourth...Reyes is a moron.

so we have a 24 year old einstein calling the chief engineer at Ford a moron. Lucky us, we had your comments to learn from, I won't buy a Ford now.

24??? HA! Not even close.
And common sense doesn't have an age.
