This is...Stupid. I mean I don't live there and I have a toilet but...They can't just dig a REALLY big hole and put a seat on it? SURELY the effort to dig a hole like that would be worth it, as then you wouldn't have to CONTAMINATE YOUR WATER SUPPLY. I mean, you don't even need to dig a massive hole, if everyone just dug a small hole to poop in and buried it after they were done, they could then wipe themselves in the river. This would decrease the amount of water contamination DRAMATICALLY.

Why don't we stop all medical and hygenic practices then? You make it seem as if it's a battle of humans vs. nature. But it is much easier to work with nature instead of against it. If people knew more about composting techniques and hygiene practices, this 'toilet crisis' would not exist.
