i don't like the headless mannequin they used to display kate's dress. It's a little creepy. it's like the dress designer made torpedo shapes out of the breast area of the gown. maybe it's just me, or has anyone else noticed that too? She is from the House of Windsor, and all her descendants will go by that name (well Mountbatten-Windsor) unless they have an HRH in front of their name or have the title of Prince or Princess. But, yes, Elizabeth I Regina died several hundred years ago, is currently resting in a vault beneath Westminster Abbey, and is from the House of Tudor.

Prince Philip is of the House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg but Her Majesty is of the House of Sachen-Coburg und Gotha which was Prince Albert ´s (Queen´s Victoria´s consort) family name. They changed to Windsor during the WWI because of the anti-German feelings all over Europe.

The US military is certainly one the biggest, and the US Olympic athletes do win a deal of medals - but compared to the size of their country...
