  • bien hecho hombre!

  • 2.20 AWESOME!

  • Tremendisimo! waooo! exelenrte !

  • A wonderful rendition of a piece that set bass players afire and gave us a chance to be "flash" on our instrument! An implied compliment, Jaco's tone, timbre and staccato are ubiquitous! Bravo!

  • Beautifuly played!!!!

  • Jaco and Zawinul are smiling.

    Make a tribute band. Please.

  • You are a hell of a musician

  • That is just so cool!

  • wonderful!

  • this guy is a monster!

  • Playing Teen Town on a 6 string breaks some sort of law, rule or city ordinance.......

    Good sh!t though

  • awesome stuff flawlessly executed with great additions. I'm learning teentown and can really appreciate your great work. Long live Jaco!!! Peace:-)

  • Ya lo dije todo. Neftali entre los grandes. ||| Vengan los pastes hasta Canada |||

  • that was fuckin bangin mate!

  • wow you did it :p

  • Very interesting, very musical, soulful.

  • wooow que buena interpretacion y que buenos arreglos le metiste men !!! ahora si que como dicen los gringos"jaco would be proud" o una madre asi :)

  • nice frets

you should get rid of them

  • Do you have a chorus tone on that bass? When you played the eighths with the horns it sounded like a chorus patch.

  • Really nice Jaco tone.

  • Excellent! You get a great fretless sound on a fretted with some heavy string-bending. Cool! Also, the ideas you express in-between Jaco's original lines rock-- they feel more comfortable than when you're "playing along." They speak to a mature musical personality.

My only criticism: there are a couple spots where you're rushing just a tiny bit, like around the 0:15 mark. It's only natural when playing a difficult head, and it's pretty minor.

    Fantastic vid. Thanks for posting!

  • Hehehe, I heard that 'rushing' too, but even Jaco did it sometimes! :)

  • you are running

  • great job!

  • Hello could you tell me how you got the backing track?

  • I think its just the real track.

  • Hi jacazz, happyslappy is right,is the real track,I'm playing over it,greetings from Mexico and thanx for watching.

  • great job man

  • lol for a sec I forgot I had this video playing, and when it started I thought my phone was ringing (Teen Town is my ringtone lol)

    again, man great job

  • 2:20 till the end is GREAT! Damn, Neftali, you've done it again!

  • Thanx ultima!!!

  • your putting up the T+C on the description is a good way to protect your video. I should start doing that

  • is that rob shneider playin? hahah! nc job!

  • FERA!!! PARABÉNSS!

  • ah your playing is flawless, loved it... keep going, you're doing great!

  • What a sick bass line. You pulled that off wonderfully! :) I don't really think I could play all those fast runs.

  • Obrigado Val,it`s no neccesary, your playing is fantastic!!!I like too much. Still in contac, regards from Mexico.

  • Bravo!! truly good tone and truly beautiful "add on" on a great Jaco masterpiece.

    Bye

  • it sounds like it would be real fretless bass even if it's with frets, amazing.

  • You're very welcome amigo! you deserve praise, you are better the us.

What about this video, especially i'm interested in the sound of it, how did you make the tone, is there something special to turn on equalizer?

  • Hi thanx for watching,I used a ME 50B multieffects by BOSS and I put it through a defretter to create the fretless sound, very simple,Oh,and I turn the knob to the bridge-pickup,that`s all!!!the best judge is your ear, follow your instinct, hehe, greetings from Mexico.

  • And it sounds very familiar to come on come over, we see your influences :)

  • Neftali you're so damn good it's unbelievable.

The part at 2:20 left me speechless. Keep on your good work fellow bassist! :)

  • Bububu thanx again,I`m happy that you enjoy this version, that's cool,I'll be working that way,I think the same bout you, really good videos!!!light and blessings from Mexico!!!

  • ive been told that you should not be afraid of leaving a few beats or even measures of silence in your solos. im no expert but i think that little bit of advice could help u out a bit. your solo section, though AWSOME, seems a little cramped. i dont no, maybe im wrong. just thought id share that with u.

  • so clean. SO CLEAN. great job!

  • I love you man for your very nice job. I learned that video about 6 years but I never played so beautiful like you.

God bless you and God bless Jazz with all their admirers!

  • thanx for watching and comment Amadeus, light and blessings from Mexico.

  • Again, bravo! What are you using to get the fretless sound (if anything)?

  • WOW!!!

  • INSANE!

  • great

  • awesome!!!!!!!

  • jaco is that you ? :P

    sounds just like him...

  • i love the harmonization at the beginning!! and the modifications and ur tone is jaco-esque!!! beautiful 5/5

  • TREMENDO ESTE NEFTALI

  • that's lovely, very good playing :)

  • Awesome !

  • Nicely done! I like the solo parts at the end!

  • wow. that was nasty. great job!

  • So how does that John Myung signature Yamaha work out?

  • Simply great. The "solo" you arranged is very funky and jaco-style in the same time. Awesome job man!

  • Man at 2:19 he straight went beast mode haha!

  • wow!

gorgeous, and one of the few true interpretations of this demanding song I've seen so far, as the vast majority of posts have been note-for-note performances that by themselves are a remarkable achievement ... sadly, my arthritic hands don't allow me to even attempt such an effort anymore, and so my trusty Guild sits in its case, but thanks to YouTube we all get to see some great playing ... outstanding chordal work and lower octave additions -- BRAVO, Neftali!!

  • Doctor thanx for the visit and the comment,I think you love music and at that point, there is no arthritis in the heart and mind,I must say that we all play in lot of ways, and I say BRAVO!! to you, requires courage to confront a disease like you have, not all the people can.Light and blessings from Mexico,we still in contact...

  • NICE

Can you play it on a four string?

  • Very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i've mooved on 6 string bass 2 months ago and i should try this tune...but maybe in a month or 2.first i have to teech my hands how to act on 6 strings :) great job BTW!

  • wow great skills...

  • oh my god!

    PERFECT!

  • I've just listened to Nekrotapok (great fingers) He posted a very good Straight version on 4 strings. Be good to hear you both try "Dry cleaner.." You're a great bassist

  • Thanx a lot dodgyphil,I'll take the tip!!!

  • hey Neftali. I'm teaching my nephew to play and youtube is a wonderful resource. It has given me the opportunity to hear so many good players. It amazes me that Jaco did not have latin blood (to my Knowledge) I have listened to your other stuff and its all good. Bassowman has done a good openning section of Dry Cleaner I've been trying for years, can only do bits it's my Holy Grail. best wishes from UK!

  • bravo .

  • Parabéns!!!

    Good job...

    Toca muito, garoto!!!!

  • Nasty dog!!!!!!!!!!! Wow!

  • Great!

  • Thanx Nekro,I think the same about your playing, regards from Mexico.

  • Your bass is a John Myung signature, isn't it?

(Judging by the infinity symbol on the fretboard.)

  • that is one bad ass bass and a crazier man on it!

  • Excellent. Thanks for subscribing to my videos. Keep it up. You rock!

  • 5 estrellas....muy buena tecnica

  • Man, you're incredible ! Awesome cover !

    Greeting from France ;)
