  • @yvadmil, thank you so much for putting up this video. Do you remember which sanguine pencil Samuel was using? Was it a pastel pencil?

  • @Aiingel Faber castell PITT pastel

  • i loved this especially in the early stages, the near 90 degree cross hatching towards the end flattened some of the form but it's still a very nice result!

  • All right. I have now watched this vid exactly one million times. I'm trying to emulate Samuel's delicate modelling with graphite pencil and I can't come close. So I have 3 choices. One is make a deal with the devil (not my first), two is go to Paris and steal Sam's magic pencils. Three is make more coffee, prop my eyes open with toothpicks and watch watch watch. I choose 3. I think Samuel really got into this drawing, a pleasure to watch an artist in that state of mind. :-)

  • This is an art lessom. Beutiful work by Samuel. I can learn more and more, each time I see him drawing. Thank you Yvadmil.

  • This is one of my favourites. Thank you Samuel and Davy.

  • Thank you Yvadmil, A wonderful lesson in non linear portraiture. I would love to see more of this mans drawings. A master at work! His lost edges on the far side of the face are perfect. That young lady must have been very pleased.

  • @twizzinav - I was very pleased indeed :)
