Korn, Nickelback, Seether, and about 2-3 dozen more bands continue to drop platinum record after platinum record. Hard Rock, metal, and long hair is very much alive. It just temporarily went out of style, but despite that, Bon Jovi, and Guns N Roses toured almost straight through the 90s to sold out shows. Don't delude yourself

@lotrownsall - Yes, I enjoy slipknot. However, the guy had the assertion that metal died with the 80s. You OBVIOUSLY agree with me in a way. Metal in all forms no matter how underground OR mainstream is not dead. Just because something is mainstream is no reason to discount it, and there are millions of crappy bands that are justifiably underground because they suck. Just because they're underground doesn't make them better than a mainstream brand, what matters is musicianship, I'm with you.

They're about as Metal as Celine Dion, dude. As for musicianship in those bands, it's virtually nonexistent, and I'm going to say underground bands ARE better because they aren't playing music to make money. They make music because they love it, not because they make millions. They put their heart into it, and it shows.
