There's no place like O'Rourke's anywhere. He's an example of the heightsto which diner food can rise. If you are even remotely local, a visit is imperative. I know of a diner owner in New Hampshire who drives his crew down here to show them what is possible.

STEAMED BURGERS!!! REALLY????.....i hate when they are char-grilled.... the best part of burger is the flavorful crust you get from grilling on a hot flattop griddle with lots of onions cooking in burger fat & juices.....the steamed cheese looks great though

O' Rourkes is actually a pretty fair priced place to eat. their food is pretty damn good. i should know i live in middletown. its a lot smaller than you think its real tiny. i would highly reccomend it

I am so glad to see Brian O'Rourke get another shot with the new diner. It is hands-down the best diner food I have ever had. Now that I live in Maine, seeing the spot on Food Network made me "pine" for the place my husband and I used to frequent. Maybe we'll get back down there someday!
