Hey man. Thanks for posting your performances. Have you also tried playing this tune the way Tommy does, with the shuffle feel in half time (backbeat on 3), and the verse feel with a displaced backbeat on the "&" of 3 instead of on 4? (when counting in 6)

This is a really great solo. I see a lot of Vinnie Colaiuta and Buddy Rich in you. They may be two very different drummers but they have one thing in common; they can play anything on anything.

I do have one question for you; how did you build your independence so well? Were there any specific exercises you used or did you just pick it up as you went?

1) K a little bit over A. Just depends on the situation.

2)Emad Bass, G2 Toms, G1 Snare. ALL EVANS!

3)Practice slow for long periods of time. Train your brain, and muscles. Then build up when you are comfortable at a certain speed.

Hey man, To answer your question: I have been tuning drums for a very long time. I have fiddled around for years and finally found the pitch and ressonance I want for my style of play. I tune the bottom head a little tighter than the batter head. Just play around until you find what you are looking for. Let me know if you have anymore question. God Bless!
