Because of the unique emotional sound of 二胡, I think it will be better if you try to play it on D string and G string, even if you have to lower it by an octave. That'show I do it anyway.

@cannoir Yes. I learned how to play it in two years. My first year was okay. At the end of the high school year, I produced better sound than this other student who had taken lessons ever since she was five. I then took a break and came back to play it better than my fellow students. Yeah, bragging rights while I can. However though, I am talented in learning and have piano and music experience. If you are dedicated, then two years should get you somewhere. It's all in the exercises.

@cannoir I have only learned for 1 year, and i am 12. i bet i can play this. it's not that hard; you just need the determination and a good teacher that supports and pushes you. don't get a teacher just because he/she is nice.

That's what happens when u try to mimic an erhu's expressive freedom on a violin. the fingerboard just kills what the player is trying to play, then it just sounds weird.

But great stuff! I play erhu, and double bass, and i try mimicking erhu on bass... doesn't work too well.. =D
