  • Keith lost his mom at 12 his dad gave him and his brother 20.00 each every week and them played them for it he slept under a table in a place in newport beach growing up once had his pockets slit while he was asleep and his cash stolen,if he would have stayed straight he would have been the best ever,Bucktooth brought him to Reno in 91 92 and he jumped up on a table in the green room and yelled any one you World Champions got the 8 first one to 10 for 10K no one opened there mouth .

  • 2011 woot!

  • hey mc Cready... up your ass with the spot that ok with u

  • These 2 guys is why we have the Show "Intervention".To praise these guys in the world of pool is why the world of pool is in the state it is"fucked".

  • @scsuxci @scsuxci Why not praise a guy who has 5 United States Opens and 4 World Championships??...your kidding right?...he raised the bar for everyone....off the table Earl is a great guy to sit down and talk with......so is Keith..not what you might think.......all of us have flaws...try a little forgiveness and understanding....they lived a very tough life on the road....much tougher than your life has been I am sure...how do i know that?.....you got 8/1 on that bet....all day long!..

  • wow Thats some raw talent right there that McCredy has

  • I love to watch Keith play. Hard times here we come and then the track. Sometimes I even miss it. And all the others too, except Jack, no not Jack.

  • I could watch McCready play all day long.

  • Strickland doesn't break the balls until 1:20 seconds, the video last 8:19 and they play 4 games, ok 3, still. If Ralf Souquet was playing he would be on the 7 ball of game 1 by the 8:19 mark.

  • DAM THESE GUYS ARE SO FUCKEN SO GOOD

  • keller says this is shit!!!!

  • earl is the best player ever

  • lol the info says 1998

  • I agree, Pig. The only good part is no smoke--I didn't like that even when I smoked.

  • never knew strickland was a smoker?? still an animal though

  • Great classic pool video with two really great players. Thanks for posting this video.

  • Great Video!! McCready is fantastic--like he's right out of some novel :)

  • what if he would of missed the 9 in the first rack?! guess we will never know lol

  • Keith claims that his edge is his ability to use inside English effectively. Watch him when he plays balls like that. Try it, very hard to get position consistently.

  • Keith is a throwback, classic hustler, deadly when he's in stroke, but not the technician that Earl is. I'd take the money on Earl, but be rooting for Keith. Word has it that he got about $10,000 for "Color of Money" and blew it at the track in a heartbeat!

  • when keith shot the 7 down in the corner while earl was sitting in front of his shot line he covertly start fumbling with something on the table, making sure to move right when he was about to pull the trigger.. delebirate shark attempt by earl lol

  • @thumper9mm good eye 9, he coughed too!

  • LOL, Earl jacked a smoke off Keith when he wasn't lookin. A classic billiard shot, just a smooth stroke, and noone will ever notice (I've done it many times). Lucky, smoking is allowed indoors here till Dec. 31, 2009.

  • Sidenote: This is a Brunswick Gold Crown table...pockets wider than a front door compared to the newer Diamonds Pro that pros play on today...Its a lot easier to get a good roll in even if you hit it bad...I like playing on these when the Diamonds table isn't giving me a ball, it puts you back instroke instead of getting pissed even more.

  • There is no connection to the brand of table and the size of pockets. The pockets are either single, double or triple shimmed which is what makes the pockets tight or loose. That can be done on any brand table. Typically, tables are single shimmed for the ball bangers that just come in for fun. Good players tend to shoot on the double shimmed tables & real money players or other good players who care about their game play the triple shimmed. That said, these tables may be single or double shim.

  • Not only does pocket size differ between brands, but the angle of the rail cut and the depth of the pocket shelf can also differ. The angle of the cut and the depth of the pocket shelf can affect the way a table plays just as much as pocket size. Sure, you can stack facing on top of facing to make a pocket tighter, but the proper way is to extend the sub-rail. Diamond tables aren't simply "shimmed up" to be tighter than Brunswick tables, they are built to different dimensions.

  • This is classic. I love watching both of these guys play. Fast, effortless, accurate.

  • say that again

  • Now THIS is pool! Couple comments: I always LOVE McCready's style of playing! Not the side arm, but how he moves and approaches shots, fantastic. Also kind of nostalgic seeing people able to smoke in a pool hall back then, shit just isn't the same nowadays. :)

  • Pool halls use to be quite, smokey, there were hustlers all over the place, And the game was basically a gambling game. Now pool halls are loud with music blasting, theres no smoke, instead of hustlers its a bunch of non playing kids with 90 dollar cues, and few people have the balls to play for dough. Well thats just my 2 cents anyway.

  • @pigdisposal i totally agree, I hate the new music theme in the pool halls, its really bad.

  • @pigdisposal so so so so so true

  • Pretty good video i like McCready's style

  • my dad played with keith mccready at fun in games down here in ky

  • The 2-ball was near the 9-ball... all he had to do was shoot the 1-ball strate in and make a EASY 2 to 9-ball combo, thats why keith gave him the rack for a win

  • Classic stuff! I'd never have given away that Nine hanging in the pocket, though - even pros scratch on a carom like that once in a blue moon.

  • Earl wouldn't have played the carom. All he had to do was make the 1 in the side, stop the cue ball, and the 2 was right there for an easy 2-9 combo.

  • Thanx for this post Amiga. And thanx Phantomudd for all the great videos, keep postin' em.

  • Thanks a pleasure to watch

  • sidearm shot very unorthodox....makes for good cutshots

  • The reason why Keith shoots like that is because when he first learned how to play, that was the only way he could reach the cueball. No lie.

  • that hat is the shizznit

  • mannn this shit is classic

  • he gave up the second rack because any decent player can carom off the 1 into the 9 that was sitting in the corner pocket.

  • This is amazing, shows how much the discipline of the game has changed. How come McCready forfeits 2nd frame off the break? Isn't that kind of unsporting in the least? Or is the tone of the game away from anything official?

  • He broke and didnt make a ball, the 9 was hanging and the 2 was near it,Earl just had to draw off the one for position on the 2 and lights out and Keith conceded,it was respect that Earl would get out.

  • Oh I see, it's obvious now you point it out, thanks, respect due

  • When i played Earl a month or so ago,he broke dry i make the one ball and hook myself, kicked 2 rails and missed and he had ball in hand and ran out,i was ready to concede as soon as i gave him ball in hand, ball in hand at the top level usually means your toast.

  • you might as well flushed your money down the shitter. ;)

  • I didn't lose any money,lol.

  • I was jk man, you faired better than I ever would im sure!

  • Earl in his prime. no mouth, just stroke. i like the commentary.... hardly any.

Keith McCready is funny, even here.

  • i noticed that too about earl before a ton of fame i guess

  • This is fucking wicked... I've been waiting for a long time for someone to post any video footage of Keith McCready. I love watching this guy shoot...

  • you are the man for posting this thanks

  • "The impossible dream" I love McCreadys stile

  • This is awesome. Two complete naturals at the pool table. I love McCready's style.

  • Great footage , loved it .

  • Im sure thats grady seasons from the colour of money, the cocked cue action and the limp right hand when he walks around the table.Great footage, love it.

  • yea...dats keith mccready he played grady in the color of money

  • haha...ghetto as heck!!

  • Earl was a cig smoker? never would have thought that. he bashed efren in the race to 120 for his smoking lol

  • dude, thats not earl strickland who lit up a cigarette... that was keith mccready...

  • right at 7.00 strickland goes to his jacket, hanging behind him, pulls out a pack of smokes, and looks like he uses keiths matches 2 lite his own.

  • thanks for posting man!! Love it
