  • just shut up it is the economy if i were there i would have run you over with my dump truck

  • Get a job you fucking bums!

  • Cause you fucking morons decided it would be a good idea to chain your self to one lil material hauler. Your going to get your selves KILLED!!!! BACK THE FUCK OFF I'm SO SICK OF THIS SHIT. GET OVER IT, WERE GOING TO MINE THE FUCK OUT OF IT, AND AIN'T SHIT YOUR GONNA BE ABEL TO DO TO STOP IT. cause let me tell you if your think a politician is going to put a stop it mining, your full of shit, cause the billions in tax money and fines is what fattens their damn pockets! Dumb fucks!!

  • You fucking assholes need to realize that the only fucking thing your doing is causing hard working Americans to get hurt and unable to work, effecting their family their kids, and pushing a mover to cause millions of people to loose there jobs. You guys a fucking retards find something else to do and leave us hard working miners the hell alone cause your going to fuck with the wrong mine, in the wrong state one day, and they ain't going to stop moving their big ass price's of equipment

  • We had dumb asses like your selves storm a surface coal mine in northern west Virginia and 2 miners got hurt and 1 almost died because a stupid fucking green head climbed up on his millions of pounds boom of a drag line (while moving) and he stopped got out of his operators cab and the green fuck climbed down and started fighting with the guy trying to get inside his cad and destroy it and the miner feel over 40' off the drag and landed on the ground and 4 other green heads jumped a worker.

  • You green dumb ass fucks are dumb as shit. What you don't realize is everytime you do what I you did kn this video, your the ones that are committing a crime (trespassing, littering, destruction of property, wanted endangerment, entrapment, ect.) Everytime you storm onto one of these mines or any mine your putting peoples lives in danger, not to mention your own you fucking idiots. I live in west Virginia and am proud as hell to be a coal miner and apart of the coal and mining industry.

  • I woulda just run them stoned fuckers over, these sand run North America...ass fucks

  • I wonder how many of those greenpeace losers you could fit in the bucket of that shovel?

  • @Brenno031 What makes them losers?

  • It is better than getting it from Saudi Arabia...

  • I am a Canadian, and the Tar Sands make me feel so ashamed. The destruction must be stopped. It is important to know that there are people from different generations who are fighting the Keystone XL.

In fact, I saw the video of two young Canadian teenage boys who wanted to see the Tar Sands for themselves.

It's incredibly powerful, so much so that the Huffington Post decided to cover it! Go to their website and search for "Tar Trek."

  • It oil sands not tar sands, there's no fucking tar in there.

  • @117upyours Yes, you know more then greenpeace. you must be right

  • @117upyours You're fucking dumb, oil comes from tar ya dip shit.

  • @WesternStar4900SA whats the problem, it`s still more stable than buying from Iran, Libya, corrupt Russia, I could go on and on

  • @gangesexcavating But this has nothing to do with this argument, of course it's better. But this guy obviously is a dumb ass.

  • Those Greenpeace cunts are so annoying

  • you dumb green peace idiots are to stoned to realize how we need the tar sands

  • @mtb4141 (too, not to) gran a dictionary

  • @mtb4141, wooooow. good argument. I especially liked how you backed up your point. Go back to Alabama, retard.

  • @zandersgay sorry i live in alberta, never been to alabama

  • @mtb4141 We need the tar sands? maybe you're too ignorant to see that as humans we waste too much as it is. and the tar sands are one of the most wasteful ways of extracting energy might as well find another form of energy, the tar sands is like taking two steps forward and one step back, while regular drilling is much faster and cost effective.

  • If u want us to stop producting oilsand then come up with a better solution, trying making car that can run out of air? you guy greenpeace are a peace of shit. Think of the impact that can hurt the country... Your mother or father probly work in the oil industry, why should we stop when we can make a better life for the country and consumer.. Fuck the greenpeace go die

  • JOIN THE FACEBOOK GROUP "STOP THE OIL INDUSTRY"

WE NEED NEW ENERGY IT'S ABOUT TIME THESE MEGGA COMPANIES GET WITH THE EARTH AND STOP BEING SOO GREEDY

  • anti-greenpeace mentality i don't get.. the worst thing about tar sands is that it is so incredibly inefficient in extracting oil, as it requires one barrel of oil in energy to extract two barrels from the sand.

hating these people whose objective is to keep the earth in a state where all manner of life can best be sustained doesn't make much sense. Fact is that the earths population is increasing exponentially while many resources and environmental conditions dwindle.. not hard to figure out.

  • look. if you like driving on pavement or walking on rubber soles then all you are are hypocrites. without the tar sands our economy would be destroyed and for some reason you think thats a good thing. also for your information the fort mcmurray tar sands suncor site is the first in the world to retreat tailings water to dramatically decrease the footprint left. also if you didnt know the tar sands have been in operation since the early 1900's! why dont you go hug a tree in someone elses backyard

  • next time they do that why not just block them in? i mean they have to run out of food if you cut them off so make a circle around them and let them starve it out. or put a second chain around them with another lock just to piss them off. and P. S. OMFG YOU STOPPED 1 TRUCK AND A SHOVEL OOOO THAT DID ALMOST NOTHING TO THE COMPANY. go home you green hippie losers.

  • @VoltismProductions I agree. Chain them up to the truck with your own chain and lock, see how committed they really are to this protest. The company wouldn't have let them onsite if the protest made any large difference to production, that truck was probably broken or something

  • ya sounds like a great idea, no not really but thanks for trying to get rid one of the biggest exports for Canada. if knowlege is power, than green peace is just dust in the wind.

  • P.S. I see the hippies have cellphones and cameras. Does greenpeace know where plastic comes from?

  • Give a little sympathy here, from someone who actually lives in alberta, all these oil companies are just trying to maximize profits and do their jobs. If they use the energysands to do it, so be it. If we can keep these 'green' socialists out of the way, then the koolaid will keep flowing to shareholders, and americans won't have to deal with exorbitant gas prices. It's a win-win, but greenpeace doesn't help by spreading lies and doomsday theories about so-called 'greenhouse gases'.

  • Remember, when all of our ecosystems our destroyed, we can always eat all of the money. We've got to keep pour priorities straight. Money first, actual life second.

  • Cool! A couple hundred years of letting the energy, mining, timber, and cattle industries control our ecosystem agendas hasn't served us too well. Down here in the U.S., its actually starting to threaten our democracy.

Contrary to the general sentiment on this message board, not everyone wants to be a slave to corporations and accept whatever poison future decide to give us. SOME OF US ACTUALLY VALUE OUR FREEDOM.

  • Sure are a lot of anti earth idiots on youtube.

  • this is what white people are wasting their lives on while immigration destroys their lands forever.

  • How many gallons of gas did Greenpeace use to film this video and conduct the protest? Oh, that's right. Natural resource use doesn't apply to them. Just everyone else in the world.

  • Bravo Greenpeace

  • LAWL their driving silverado HD's haha 6.0L v8's or 6.6L duramax diesels. id just run their trucks over im sure you could find a d11 there somewhere

  • more misinformation compliments of greenpeace....the oilsands are spread out across an area the size of england (not going to displace an area the size of england....duh!!). only a small part of it is accessible by strip mining. most of it is drilled, low impact might i add. do some reseach you greenpeace idiots before making fools of yourselves!!

  • Bloody greenpeace. Dont know their arse from their elbow, climate change IS BULLSHIT! ALL LIES MADE UP BY SCIENTISTS AND LEADERS TRYING TO MAKE MONEY OUT OF IT! WAKE UP ASSHOLES!! WHAT YOURE DOING WONT MAKE THE SLIGHTEST BIT OF DIFFERENCE! If you realy want to target somebody, go kick the shit out of scientologists!

  • I wonder why they dont protest China and Japan about this since they both have invested billions into this project? Oh yeah, China doesnt care.

  • You guys are so cute. The 18th century called-they want their village people back.

  • How did tar sands folk ever survive before production began? Maybe they just consumed less.

  • Its Dec 27 2010. The most snow Eurpoe has seen...EVER ...... 12-16 foot snow drop in North East USA. Snow storms in California...... must be Global Warming? Wake up slaves. ClimateGate!

  • @GITMONATIONNORTH I think you confused snowfall with temperature. Snowfall is measured in feet or inches. Tamp is measured in degrees. They're very different. Also, no one is surprised that winter still happens.

  • Youtube should do something about trolls and 12 year old kids

  • @ribar3 Then youtube would probably only have about a couple hundred thousand users.

  • Fuck these guys blow their own horn, cant just be a shovel, its a GIANT shovel and GIANT trucks. Wish they'd show greenpeace they mean business and accidentally smash one of there pickups. Sorry, thats what you get for trespassing in an active shovel pit. clowns

  • Hope You douche's all got charged with trespassing.

  • Try intelligent protesting, you might get a better reaction. You probably flew in planes to get there, drove pick up trucks to get to sight, helicopters to film from above, uniforms, hats, banners and paint all made from petroleum that is coming from the exact sight you are protesting on...sure hope the 19,272 views was worth the cost of gas for your.."protest"...

One volcano eruption produces more toxic chemicals than decades of human consumption of oil....

    Thanks for the chuckle...

  • @GITMONATIONNORTH 19 306 as of today

  • Lol Yep

  • Very true. Don't forget they are funded by millions of Grandmas ignorant to the fact that Green peas is working to drive up energy prices. Go Green Peas!

  • @GITMONATIONNORTH it's not as bad as america.

  • @GITMONATIONNORTH, ... Yeah? and what the hell have you done to spread the word about the issue? have you ever spent money and most of your money on simply spreading the word, literally knocking on ever door in every neighborhood of every city you've been in?

And who the hell said anything about 'toxic chemicals'? We're talking about too much carbon... learn how to argue intelligently for a change.

Try doing something other than hating and actually make a difference, dumbass.

  • Green Energy Future... so those are the guys paying you for this ?

  • They're not going to shut it down, because they've already started developing it. What they need is a nucular reactor to provide clean energy, so that the process of extracting the oil from the sand will be a lot cleaner, and more efficiant. Although I'd prefer we start moving away from oil, and todards renewable energy altogether.

  • go an save the whales you moron.

  • get a life you idiot.i am a coal miner in australia.mining is essential for everything from the car you drive to materials in a hospitals that save your puny life when you are sick.climate change is a natural phenonima

  • Greenpeace Sucks!

  • @richh2009 no , you suck !

  • we wont save the planet, we will save ourselves. the planet will go on and life will evolve to adapt to the new climate. these people need to really understand what there so passionate about.

  • @rider4343 Yeah well guess what, it's never gonna happen. As long as there is oil we will never stop so stop trying to make a difference.

  • LOL If I were drivin that rig I would have ran over their banners.....Opps didn't see the bullshit *cough* banners.

  • Comment removed

  • Say no to the refugees and yes to stop the damage of people right here fool!

    Weak cause.

I need food or I'll be in bad shape. I know I'll work in TAR SANDS

You never help where you shhould help and you help the wrong people for the wrong reasons.

    must be a dumb Canadian.

  • i like how the countrys he mentioned have a fraction of the mining rescources and are smaller than half the provinces in canada, anyone think about that?

  • fuck greenpeace!

  • A Lot more people will die if there is no fuel to plant crops or fertilizer to grow them Wake up and get the facts!

  • isnt it ironic that the dirtiest people on earth aka hippies bitch about the " dirtiest oil"

i find it humorous....as theyt jump into their escalade afterwards.....

    jerk offs get a job...

  • How did these stupid bastards get to the Tar Sands? perhaps they flew up there with their gums flapping.

  • Save the whales, save the snails I'm sure George Carlin would of had something to say about this.

  • Go save the gulf now dumbass!!!

  • No it is not enough - you will never win - oh and by the way the apes are probably offended - I will be happy to participate in eraticating you eco terrorists with any price you need to pay

  • RESPECT to Greenpeace. People that stand up for this type of destruction to our planet should be rewarded. All you other short-sighted apes can fuck off.

  • GREEN PEACE ARE STUPID AND SMART AT THE SAME TIME - SMART CAUSE THEY DO NO WORK FOR THERE MONEY AND STUPID BECAUSE THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW THAT WE DO NOT PRODUCE TAR IT IS A MAN MADE PRODUCT - DON'T LET ME SEE YOU OUT THERE YOU WON'T MAKE IT OUT ALIVE

  • @MsToby12345

    "Tar sands" is a misnomer.

Please do some research before you blather. :P

The extraction of the bitumen, which makes petroleum and crude oil, requires enough energy to heat over 40, 000 homes per year per barrel of bitumen. Over 3 barrels of water is needed per barrel of oil, and the water is not reusable. The pools which contain the used water are highly toxic. Over 4 tonnes of earth is dug up per barrel of oil.

    Isn't that destructive enough?

  • Alberta oil sands are the most overt example of the human insanity of GHG generation. Their exploitation must to be eliminated immediately, and extreme pressure must be applied to the Canadian government to do so. It is terrifying that moronic comments are still made denying climate change and wishing death on those that try to focus attention on the tar-sands atrocity. Go Canada ?? More like Go to Hell Canada - and as a new Canadian I expected better than an aping of red-neck American Rapture.

  • I would have ran them over!!!!

  • Dumb fools, got nothing better to do with their lifes.

  • Dismayed as ever at the stupidity, shortsightedness, mininformation and tendency towards crude bullying of the average youtube poster.

  • get a job and contribute to the real world

  • Oh Green Peace, where are you dumb Marxist-Fascists and why aren't you cleaning up the real mess which is in the Gulf of Mexico? You people are as fake as a three dollar bill.

  • @oldieschick6

The Gulf of Mexico is a huge oil spill, yes. But it is also our fault for letting that happen (BP was responsible for another oil spill disaster, mimicking the GoM one over 40 years ago in Alaska- they didn't learn their lesson).

The Alberta tar sands, and others like it, are like a 50+ oil leak. It's JUST as disastrous as the Gulf of Mexico. Just because that's getting media attention, doesn't mean you have to ignore the other destructive projects.

  • @Fabricated1337 What a foolish statement: "The oil sands are as destructive as the Gulf of of Mexico leak". They will not be able to stop that leak. Don't you realize how huge that mess is going to be? I live in Alberta and know for a fact that the companies operating there have systems in place to restore the land. Do your research people. Stupid stupid people.

  • @oldieschick6 "They will not be able to stop that leak"- it's called relief wells. There was a similar spill, like I said before, in Alaska. Oil doesn't gush out forever in one spot continuously. Yes, the mess is going to be big. I never said it wouldn't be. And yes, companies have 'plans to restore the land'- into what? Toxic pastures that used to be Boreal forest? Go ahead, eat some poisoned bison. You first.

  • @oldieschick6

I live in Saskatchewan. I know the impacts. I also know that the Premier of this province plans to excavate the oil sands in SK, which are larger than AB's.

There are plans by the oil companies to 'recover' the tailing ponds, by putting them below ground into abandoned mine shafts, and then cover it with clean fresh water. And then they plan to introduce aquatic life. Their science tells them that somehow this will make the water clean and reusable again.

  • @Fabricated1337 Now you are down playing the disaster in the Gulf. That spill could very well poison one third of the world's ocean water, and you are complaining about the oil sands! Maybe you should put your dingy into the Gulf of Mexico and float around for a while and then tell me its not a huge problem.

  • @oldieschick6 Would you please read the private message I sent you..? My whole message would not fit into the comments section.

I believe you issue you have with me is the fact that I disagree with your... uh, decision, to place all disasters on a scale of what's important, and what's not. Wouldn't you agree that every single disaster, on our shared home, is terrible? I'm NOT implying the GoM disaster isn't something to blow off- I didn't state that anywhere. :) I likened the tar sands.. (cont)

  • @oldieschick6 ..to a 50+ year oil spill, likened the one in the GoM- it's just taken many, many years for the 'spill' to leak all over the place.

Again, I didn't state, "hey, let's ignore the Gulf".

    --

Also, BP is responsible for yet another oil spill disaster, this time once again in Alaska.

  • @oldieschick6 I've also noticed that you've 'trolled' other videos of this same subject (going against tar sands)- I understand that you're probably against everyone against tar sands. :D

There's no point 'rationalizing' with you, because you're too thick-headed to understand that we've abused the planet for too long. I doubt it'll sustain us for another century or two the way we're going at it (not to be too cynical! Watch 'the Road'- beautiful, haunting movie starring Viggo Mortensen).

  • Bunch of pasty attention whores trying to make yourselves feel better by "Helping the environment" breaking into the tarsands and trying to act like badass rebels by chaining yourselves to bigass pickup trucks that just so happen to be burning fuel from the very source you are trying to stop... The only thing you are getting out of this is criticism from the mass public and probably a nice fine or lawsuit

  • How much oil did you burn to get all the greenpeace members there in those big trucks in the video, and nice job helping your own cause by using giant pieces of paper, and the paint on the paper i assume was harmless as well. You guys are a bunch of rejects. Society doesnt like you bc you are losers. We understand you, we understand what jokes you are.

  • dear hippies

quit, because a bunch of whiners with banners aren't stopping a multi-billion dollar operation so save your breath and go pilot a massive diesel powered anti-whaling boat or something equally as pointless

  • Um, but didn't everyone from Greenpeace drive up in full ton trucks to the pit, and that gigantic banner I'm assuming is 100% recycled material? Lol. While I agree with your argument (I work in Ft. St. John) and the oil is dirty and requires way too much to extract, your main focus should be on anti-consumerism as you will never take down the companies as long as there is a demand. Attack the root cause, otherwise you are just getting arrested for practically nothing.

  • @bloej97

That's why they said they wanted the world leaders to look into other sources of energy. The way we're at now, no one can live without oil. No one. Even the products you buy, if you live completely on renewable energy, was made with oil and gas.

The main objective is to wean ourselves off oil, especially tar sands oil, which is harder and takes more energy than conventional oil drilling. It's called 'unconventional' oil for a reason. But you already know this.

  • greenpeace is a joke. protest the users of the oilsands, not the oilsands. without the consumers, there would be no demand, so there would be no oilsands.

    idiots.

  • DRT 2 OIL

    Alberta rocks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Those freakin oil sands leach tons of bitumen into the watershed, I see this more of cleaning up toxic Oil Sand and using the Oil then anything harmful.

  • @shinestorm please get your facts straight...bitumen naturally leeches out of the soil up there...take a walk along the river...gobs of it going into the water with no human assistance.

  • stupid action. minerals and resources are all useful and we all use it in some ways.

  • why dont you target the consumers as well? fashion industry, luxury vehicles ....las vegas?

tar sands are just an economic response to demand. fight the demand.

  • @Drcvet carpet bomb the demand

  • wow, stopping that one haul truck (out of around 400 on site) sure made a difference lol, also the haul trucks use diesel electric motors and the excavators are purely electric........ einsteins

  • My favourite part is when they drive up in gas guzzling GMC's

  • What an idiot. He has no idea what he's talking about!

  • i've been to the tar sands.where the hell is the security force that is there ? They checked all thru my tractor before i was allowed on site and I had a escort the whole way in and out

  • We will need to turn to sustainable resources in order to have a stable energy supply 100 years from now. Oil, gas and coal are not an infinite resource. Yet I don't think humans are completely to blame for the greenhouse effect. If you look in history, in time scales of tens of thousands of years you'll see that it has once been way hotter on earth. Besides, at the moment I'm freezing my ass off!

  • @R031v7

the usa alone has enough coal for 500 years. if we keep using more power like the old trend, of rising ever year. but with more and more energy effiencient devises, we are useing less than the old trend

  • Good point, yet I do think that energy prices will rise as resources will become more and more difficult to mine, even though the technology to do this will improve. Alternatives will have to be found for the energy problem such as nuclear fusion, solar energy, geothermal power, etc.. But then again, I agree with you, before we run out of fossil fuels, let's say in 500 years, it will take a while. In that time technology will have made other energy supplies available.

  • @R031v7

    agreed and i hope so.

  • i would have run thier asses over!

  • fuckin hippies!, tree huggers!!!

  • You People need to get a life and a real job. People need oil and gas and people need well paying jobs, the Alberta Oil Sands provide both. The Oil Sands will go on if you protest them or not, you guys are simply wasting your time. Heres to the Oil companys and Banks that help finance the oil sands and help provide canadian with well paying jobs. There 's NO WAY YOU CAN STOP THE OIL SANDS!

  • My V-8 needs cheaper gas so I say giver! Plus look at all the jobs we create! Go Canada!

  • Wonder if anyone ever counted the number of ppl whos deaths can be atributed to greenpeace? hom many millions have died from malaria because ddt was banned? how mantystarved because of the us forcing a certan percentage of their grain/corn harvests have been deverted to make ethanol. these idiots have no idea about the ramifications of their actions

  • There is going to be implementation in place to divert the grain crop for ethanol, and the reason why the government banned DDT is so people like you and the ecosystem doesn't consume contaminated game because of the bio accumulation of poisonous DDT.

  • Thank you Greenpeace for putting pressure on Canada and the US to Stop the Tar Sands! Keep up the fantastic work.

  • I want to know where they get these numbers.

  • Comment removed

  • Socialism does these things.

Canada has no money, the US has money. US buys tar sands.

  • @TexasOutLaws1 you are..... oh wait, you're texan... i dont even have to bother with you. you're already hopeless. there is more to life than money and oil eh? educate yourself.

  • Comment removed

  • To bad the dump trucks didn't run over them

  • these fuckin hippies gotta go back to the 70s cause this is our life up here in the mac, go hug a tree you stupid fucks!

  • A Global Climate crime? Are you kidding me? This is pathetic, grow up you greenpeace treehugger idiots! Global Warming is NOT REAL. No wonder the economy is in a devestation, you're all ruining the damn world!! God, hopefully this all ends and people start to realize that Climate Change and Global Warming is the biggest scam ever perpretrayed in human history! Oh wait! People are now!

  • fuck u i love fort mac and oil

  • I bet those Greenpeace idiots have no problemo driving their cars or warming their houses or whatever with fuel from the tar sands. We should throw them out in the middle of the Yukon with no warmth or vehicle and then they'd be kissing the asses of people in charge of developing the tar sands. Greenpeace now knows (that global warming is a hoax yet they continue to harass people who are trying to move the world forward. Greenpeace is the bowels of mankind!

  • Greenpeace uses extremest actions to exemplify change directed towards environmental issues that would otherwise become unnoticed. Because of this organization, many controversial issues have been brought to the table to be discussed and new polices have been implimented (for some).

    So, thanks greenpeace!

  • @kmori991 ya , tell that to the relatives holding a 4 yr old dying in subsaharra africa of malaria. greenpeace banned the use of ddt, in the 70's (cause a bird was dying), also kid dosent get a last meal , because greenpeace made the us shift a large precentage of its grains , to be sent off to make fuel instead of putting on open makket, driving food prices up round the world,,,thanks greenpeace

  • Greenpeace are more interested in vandalism and self aggrandisement, than finding real solutions. The green movement is all about money, but little of it is spent on solutions

If it were up to me I'd declare open season on them, or maybe even offer a bounty. They are all passion and airy fairy ideas, without a single practical solution between the lot of them.

  • How do they get past secuirty in the mine???

  • Fucking hippies, you are all retarded

  • They should wait until the hippies are chained in place then hit them with large doses of OC spray. The keys would come out at record speed. Hahaha

  • i really like what you guys are trying to do, but Sun-core, which is i think where you were in this vid, employs my dad. if you succeeded and shut down these places, my dad would have no job.

  • GreenPeace = Hippi? asd

  • I'm confused now. I saw other reports saying that global warming is cyclic and not man made. Lots of the info I read was pointing towards trying to tax people on all carbon emissions to include breathing.

  • They should stop addressing the problems and find a solution

  • Greenpeace used gas guzzling trucks in their stunts.

Dont they know that this shows HYPOCRISY?

Supposedly campaigning against oil refineries and fossil fuels, but happy enough to use them in their stunts and daily lives.

    Again,HYPOCRISY.

  • Comment removed

  • What?? Where did you pull that from?? Greenpeace rented the trucks in Fort Mc Murray, the gas for the trucks came from Fort Mcmurray and there is NO place in Fort Mcmurray or Northern Alberta to purchase ANY type of Biofuel.

  • OK maybe your right, but you see I'm alawyer and we say things to get the ball in our hands. But anyways the problem is definitely serious and we cant ignore that.

  • lol, okay. Then your objection to my comment was over ruled...:)

  • haha...still global warming is very much there....and it does not hurt to do a lilttle wrong to get the big evil crushed.

  • and so what is the solutiion. quit talking and get it done!

  • I am doing what is possible by me in every way!

  • Bunch of looneys. Greenpeace feeds off fear. They create fear and blow things such as climate change out of proportion. We have seen what fear can do (PATRIOT ACT), and this is the bread and butter of greenpeace.

What do these people have a degree in? Honestly? Do they even know the physics, and limitations of "green energy".

Without the tar sands oil could be a more expensive commodity and the standard of living of the world could potentially drop. But lets dream of rainbows and unicorns!

  • beastmasterification dont you know that those are to block and for your information they won shell shut down the plant for a month so you can go cry in fear because your such a pussy

  • I have no idea what you are trying to say.

  • it takes the burning of 3 barrels of fossil fuels to produce 4 barrels of fossil fuels from the alberta tar sands

  • viva greenpeace and please do not STOP..

  • i love this greenpeace shit. everytime i see these welly wearing morons makes me want to go into work ( a power station ) and tweek up the nox and co2. coal and gas isnt the answer but the big power generation companies really are pulling out to find alternatives.energy conservation starts and ends with the individual, be it turning off that light or turning down your heating. no usage equals no production.

  • You would think being greenpeace you would have car pooled instead of each one of them taking a truck.....and you are also showing terroist how easy it is to get on site way to go greenpeace hope suncor wins in this court battle ...

  • I find Green Peace to be an organization that offers the world ideas, but a poor way of promoting them. They have put themselves at risk with the recent Alberta blitz. They have also put others at risk by making work sites dangerous. We know that Tar Sands oil is not perfect, but the environmentalists used hydrocarbons to get to this site! Grab some brains soon!

  • For each of you maroons that cant comprehend the bio diesel trucks and the blokade they provide you get some brains

  • Well said, the people cant make out a chalk from a pen

  • Fools, your focusing on the supposed poster child for pollution. Poster kids never get more than a wrist slap. Besides there's never less than one poster, get my drift. The end result of global rape is the thermination of the human race, Nough said, we should continue doing what we've been engineered to do... consume.

  • I find it funny.... If I was the bulldozer operator I would have........... (fill in the blank... I know what I would hve done to those yahoo's!)

  • just woundering how did u get there. did you float down the athabasca, ride bicycles, walk or go on horse back to get to the oil sands ???

  • Industry for production but, in all honesty we still kept on truckin' and numbers were still rolling. Yes we pollute, so does china, Japan etc etc so set your banners up there. You're only wasting your time by trying to stop the Oil sands, it'll never happen in our lifetime especially with Shells new expansion, we're full steam ahead for the next 50-70 years so expect pollution levels to increase.

  • I've worked in the Oil sands for 16 months now with Suncor and now I'm working with Albian Sands (Shell). We can complain all we want and try to come up with solutions to stopping this globally funded project but in reality it will never happen, well at least not for another 70 years. The recession of 09 was probably the slowest time in the Oil sands...

  • And then we still did not mentioned the synthetic chemicals that are emitted into the atmosphere every year. There is no research done on those their number is appx. 100,000. And what about the methane that is 23 times more potent and released during the melting of the permafrost?

    THINK THINK THINK!

  • There will be more intense hurricanes. Uneven water deposition and more fresh water ends up in the oceans and become salt water (no surplus stored in ice and snow). And technology seems more like the cause of the problems than the solution. Look at the data from the industrial revolution. Now at the case of tar sand in Canada. The question is not co2 emission. It is the degradation of the topsoil and contamination of water supply.
