@SoapStar4Life I think he's going to be joining the cast of Parks and Recreation, so we'll still be seeing him on tv. But I do agree, they shouldn't have killed him off.
@serendipity375 It wasn't the writers' idea, they wanted to keep him, but Rob wanted to leave to he suggested to the writers to just kill the character off.
@SoapStar4Life It's not the show's fault, Rob Lowe himself decided to leave because he was unhappy with his screentime, he was the one who told the writers to end it. The writers and producers were actually hoping that he would return in the future but Rob sort of killed the idea.
@BetaArtemis also because he demanded a large salary raise but the producers said no. he was also difficult in his demands (private jets) and martin sheen even had to dress him down. it's too bad b/c he's not had a role nearly as commanding or awe-inspiring since...
Simply LOVE it when Josh loses it and chucks the guy against the wall for insulting Leo; he looked like he was about to beat the shit out of him right there. I love how loyal all the characters were to their friends.
Oh, and Sam's parting shot was absolutely killer as well. Possibly the best knock-down threat ever delivered. And he would, too. The expression on his face when he said that was truly chilling: never, ever, ever mess with Leo, or we will be out for your blood.
Love Sam and Josh in this, the boys love Leo and they'll stand by him!
I find it funny that they would even get all up in arms about having alcoholics in the White House, I mean, if the Secret Service has screened them all, their records have been scrutinized, then it's obvious that they are't dangerous. What Leo did was in the past, it was years ago, it should hardly have any judgement to who he is now.
It's like saying Obama can't be President because he did drugs as a young man.
@alfirin737 hardly...Sam is an idealist, a purist, arm him with the best staff (Josh would be his chief of staff) and he would do great things for our country.
How many times have we heard both parties claim loyalty to others or to their beliefs or friends only to suddenly deny throw them under the bus. Look at Lieberman or the guy who switched to democrat so he could win next year. Even McCain & Kerry no day without them in the press but they lose an election & their own party pushes them to the back. Tragic & getting worse.
Only on the West Wing would true loyalty always win before personal reputation. The Bartlett senior staff would walk through hell and fire for Bartlett or Leo.
Seems most politicans would even disown family members if it helped secure a re-election. THat's whats wrong with the world today. Noone is loyal & noone takes responsibility for screw ups or mistakes noones perfect espceially celebrities or politicans. Look at Pelolis lol she i never liked her but I think she's throw everyone else under the bus over what she knew about waterboarding but herself. Sometimes I hate californ LOL
This Pelosi situation reminds me of the recent 24 season where Jack Bauer has to face charges of torture. Just like Pelosi throwing the CIA under the bus even though the agency always did the government's dirty work, the Senate Committee/Government tried to stash all the blame on Jack Bauer who has done more to save the country that those squabbling politicians.
These days, politicians will do anything to save their own asses.

Why aren't the subtitles exactly what they say? They get the meaning, but not the exact words..

"You're a cheap hack, and if you come after Leo I'm gonna bust you like a piñata"
So simple and yet so great, the writing in this series is like nothing else I've ever seen on TV.

To think Sams job was deputy communications, yet he was the lawyer the other White House lawyers came to if they wanted advice! Nice!

people now only care about power and control......personal loyalty like what we've seen on the West Wing is long gone now....
