  • makes me think of a girl i should of gone out with (married even) in the 80's.oh my oh my what was i thinking when i turned her down.i regret it to this day.

  • I could listen to this video song 1,000 times and never get tired of it. TY, TY, TY for this video.

  • Susanna is the most precious li'l lady in that band as we remember them in the later 1980s. They're all cute; I'd shove none from my bed. However, Susanna was absolutely beautiful. Watch that video again, ye who disagree, and then posit the question: am I being honest with myself? For if you claim one of the others tops Susanna Hoffs, you're just not...

  • @aflacduckquack I would have agreed with you in the 80's when I was much younger, but now that my tastes have refined and matured, I am not presently as inclined to agree.

  • I would drink Suzzanna's bathwater. Then and now.

  • Now I know I should be with you

  • How can you not love this ! hot chicks, great music

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!

  • This would have to be my favorite Bangles song.

  • This track reminds me somehow of "Fleetwood Mach" .-)

  • This and manic monday are my fave bangles tunes. A girl group who write their own songs (yes i know prince wrote manic monday!) and can play their own instruments. God,i miss them! Also susanna was hot but debbie was the best!!!

  • I only heard this song for the first time a few weeks ago. I think it is one of the best rock songs, I have ever heard!

  • Made me wanna jerk-off!!!!!!

  • i did sex with susana hoffs, she very hot in bed than my wife.

  • My fave part was always the splits at 0:56

  • This vid proved that all 4 girls could sing lead. The Bangles hit #30 in Bilboard, 6-24-89. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Shalom, Susanna Hoffs!

  • OMG!!! Susanna was the HOTTEST woman ever!!! She is still great looking in her 50's but is this video...WOW!!!

  • 1.25 is that a bitchy hair pull??

  • still a fave song of mine:D

  • now..the videography.. pretty cheap.. of course, we like susanna's butt but putting a close up on it.. damn cheap and childish..

  • @PSA4716 you were very lucky to be at that concert, I would love to see them and the Go-Gos play live

  • I think I should be with them...

  • love it

  • @skunape Well I would get my liscence plate with the name of my favorite band on it too! and certainly show them at a concert :DDD wouldn't everyone?!

  • An amazing piece of ass I discovered in 1986. Susanna is GOD!!!

  • still a brilliant song after all these years

  • I was at the concert where they filmed this video. Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. They asked all who were there to stick around after the concert for the video shoot. Great memories!

  • Susanna Hoff ,I think i should be with you!

  • @donnie7326 lol i agree. her eyes.. there's something alluring about her eyes

  • Always loved this song. Someone said it was released in 85', wrong!! It was the third single after, in your room, eternal flame... This would have been summer of 88-summer if 89.

  • This one always seemed a bit different from the rest of their songs. I would have loved to hear more along this vein.

  • I still miss them

  • I liked Debbies voice better then Susannas. Micheal drove me insane, her looks and hair made me sweat every time I saw her.

  • @amethyst48 I agree this is a very impressive song so melodic in a pop rock way!!

  • @amethyst48 I liked all their voices better than Suzannah's if I'm being honest.

I was at the filming of this video. It was a concert they did at Santa Monica College. They had to stop the concert, so to speak, and lip synch this song 2 or 3 times.

  • Debbi Peterson should have done more lead vocals! This is the best song ever for me. I love The Bangles but lets face it Susanna was the face! Debbi is awesome!!

  • If time machine existed I would definitely come back to that exact moment in time and place :-)

  • lol @the guy with the liscence plate!

  • @heylilly1 do ya think the guy with the licence plate is for real? :-)

  • they are hot !!

  • How is it that I've never heard this before? Sounds like a good song.

  • This filmclip was the last clip from their Greatest Hits VHS version of the same album. I remember having it in our house in early 1990 and the tape was so worn because they it was played so much. I've seen them 2 times in the last decade, and it's a shame Michael doesn't perform with them.

  • Michael looks absolutely ravishing, even with the hair. Great song of Debbie's. Too bad Susanna and Vicki thought they had to carry on such shenanigans to look sexy.

  • A guilty pleasure of mine.. The bangles were very underrated.. Love the video, love the song! An all girl rock band - one of the True 80's Hair Bands - without the heavy metal - But these girls were Rockin'! Great voices & Gorgeous... The epitome of the 80's in every way...

  • they are better than aerosmith and bon jovi

  • When this song was first released about 1985, I was stationed in Germany where it was real popular in their discos. I always thought it was some European disco type band, like Abba or something. Man was I ever wrong.

There's some very recent posts of them playing here in Austin Texas for the SXSW music festival on St Patrick's day.

  • Even though this song didn't chart well, I still think it was a great single to release. I much preferred this to Eternal Flame, In your Room and Manic Monday. I think it was well written by Debbie Peterson and sung. But most important is that the bass line by Michael Steele is outstanding and it is this that drives and carries the song.

  • I twat I taw some Puddy Tats!

  • Comment removed

  • Massive bangles fan especially back in the day! Loved Debbie's songs!

  • Debbie's voice on this track is just hauntingly beautiful.

    "Nuff said"

  • It's easy to use the term "eye candy", but this "eye candy" is extremely talented (I wish Michael would come back!).

  • never saw one of their videos but the talent is there for sure and perhaps the best girl band of the 80's

  • The music of today is crap and horrible. I wish they had music like in the 80,s these days

  • drummer is gorgeous

  • susanna was overrated ..the bassist was the best of the bunch and the hottest

  • Micheal Steele was always my favorite one.

  • es la mejor cancion de the bangles :)

  • Amazing song ! The Bangles are great, beautiful, talented and so sweet !

    Susanna I love you.

  • This video makes my heart speed up, and gets me excited. In the final few seconds, I'm left gasping for air.

  • she may be 56, but you know shes still cool!

  • @poptopia1: 56 and still HOT!

  • 2:34 and 2:58....Gotta love Susanna!

  • @alwmusicful no not really .. and she didnt age well either

  • @boats752 yes she did!

  • Sexy Susanna!!

    That dark-eyed, dark-haired radiant thing - was - then - too much for a man's desire!!

  • Long Live Michael Steele!!!!

  • Each one of them......H....A....W....T !!!

  • Can you imagine that Michael Steele is 56 years old now. This is nostalgia

  • Great song, I would love to see them in concert again. If anyone out there knows when they are around Montreal, Ottawa or even Toronto give me a heads up please, that would be awesome. Thanks JR.

  • Debbi Peterson should've been featured more as a lead singer, right, gang? God bless!

  • Shakira and Beyonce should take note what real pop music is.

  • I agree about them sticking with rock. But, when Prince writes a song for you, you pretty much HAVE to record it. I think it's a law. LOL

  • @vampifan haha well no disrespect 2 prince hes a legendary singer songwriter and has written many tunes 4 many others so kudos 2 him thanx 4 the reply !! But the Bangles were an all playin all singin girl rock group not many girl groups can claim that and 1 of only a few male or female bands 2 actually sound better live than recorded!!

  • HORNY CREATURES......!!!

    :)

  • They should have kept going with rock tunes like this instead of branching out into commercial hits like 'walk like an egyptian' and 'manic monday.'

  • @westnblu I totally agree. But, when Prince writes a song for you, you pretty much HAVE to record it. I think it's a law.

  • Micheal is so hot, love that big wall of red hair.

  • @CherryONeil At last, there are other people out there who thought Michael was hotter than Suzanna.

  • @HFWallaseybus I thought everyone did. At least every man I have talked to did. Michael is beautiful while Suzanna is just cute. I guess Suzanna got the younger boys all hot an bothered and they bought the records.

  • This, Going Down To Liverpool and Walk Like An Egyptian was proof that The Bangles had no "Lead Singer" in that they all could pull it off, but Columbia Records decided to mostly release the "Susanna Songs" as singles.

  • I love it!!!

  • Whatta g;oroius hash of icons

  • me too

    1:14

  • Listen Radio Música para Mimos (search in Google)

  • i love this song!!

  • Suz doing the splits at 0:57... OMG!!!

  • 1:14

  • i respect drummers that lead vocals, esp if they are debbi peterson! this is my favorite bangle song.

  • They truly need to be nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, same with the Go-Go's, who agrees with me?

  • Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!

  • may my boner be with you

  • Comment removed

  • 2:40,what a sexy face OMG

  • @manicir I know right

  • ...0:57 .................

  • This is a good song, ironically the last video they made before the break-up.

  • Real girl power, I won't be surprised if they inspired "ayes of base"

  • @jPapa2008 if you think they inspired "Ace of Base", I'm very sorry, but that's apples and oranges dude, you're comparing Power Pop with Synth/Dance Pop.

  • I love the bangles

  • Je les aime bien mais je trouve que ce morceau ressemble un peu trop à "Why can't i be you" de The Cure et "Straight for the heart " de Toto.

  • I think it was easy to be blinded by the fact that these were 4 beautiful women in a band. They were obviously so much more than that, writing their own songs, playing their own instruments, four strong vocalists and harmonies to die for.

They deserved much more success than they actually had. Songs like this one, I'll Set You Free, Following and In Your Room have stood the test of time and still sound fresh and vibrant today.

  • @GazzaCal123 Agreed that they deserved to have more success than they did, but they did have about three years (1986-89) where they were as popular as anybody. There are a lot of talented groups that never got that chance--and the Bangles are still performing today, still remembered fondly, and are still quite lovely. And yes, their music still sounds as relevant in 2010 as it did in 1989.

  • I love the bangles

  • love this song. the bangles are my favorite band

  • They actually look hotter here. They're always pretty, but I much prefer this. Song's a great feel good tune.

  • Sweet shot at 0:56

  • Comment removed

  • All four of these women are Beautiful...But there is something about Micheal Steele that just floors me!!!

  • @83jbolt OH YEA I WANT HER SO BAD!

  • peguem na minha bangle.

  • This song should have gone higher than number 23!

  • ¡Una de sus mejores canciones!.

    saludos

  • Took my girls to see them in 2002ish... in Lancaster CA. They were FANTASTIC! I had no idea these chicks could rock. They have great hits from the 80's, but I found this band has so much more to offer.

They played a rock set that left me in WOW. This band is truly an all time great!

  • excellent!!

  • para ti ruht

  • con esta cancion pase los mejores dias de mi vida te acuerdas ruth fiorella lo que hisimmos con amor manuel

  • blonde dummer girl is hot!!!

  • @boybblue you mean drummer? xD lol!!

  • I was obsessed with them when I was a teenager, they were the original "spice girls", unfortunately I never saw them live in concert.

  • @soapwonder Are you nuts? They were way better than The Spice Girls. Not only in talent; but the fact that they played their own instruments. It's like, The Bangles MAKE music while The Spice Girls MANUFACTURE it. I've seen them in concert/in person, they're even much better sounding and looking.

  • @lakebay972 I said they were the original Spice Girls, not better then the Spice Girls, put on your glasses and read my comment again before you ask me if I am nuts! btw when I said Spice Girls, I meant as in Girl Group!

  • @soapwonder Bangles were ROCK who targeted to young adults (20s/30s) while Spice Girls were POP who targeted to kids and teens. Two different genres of music; with two different target audiences. It's practically an insult you'd even compare The Bangles to The Spice Girls. The Bangles had a ton of hits while The Spice Girls were basically one-hit wonders with "Wannabe." I don't have to ask if you're nuts. You already are!

  • @soapwonder Sort of like saying Led Zeppelin was the original Goo-Goo dolls. I guess I'm over-stating, but hopefully you see my point...

  • @lakebay972 Noo.. The like the 80's verion of the spice girls not really compareing. There just a girl band that was very popular that decade thats how they relate to the spice girls. ^_^

  • @wazburg Bangles had more hits, more talent and better music than The Spice Girls.

  • Best "girl" band ever!

  • Michael Steele was soooooooooooooooooooooooo hot well they all were but damn I wish i was the age i am now (18) in the 80s that would of been awsome =)

I fucking hate the 21st Century =( Horrible people, horrible music everything has just gone down hill and is still falling =(

We need time machines and we need them NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mrtamberineman123

I was that age at that time. The best word I could describe the 80's would be fun! Nobody at the time knew how the 80's music would develop. Many artists tried so many styles, and experimented with different sounds from the keyboards and guitars. Even the outfits and hair was just experimenting with different looks. It was probably the most eclectic decade, but it all worked.

  • @HKevlar1 Good post. I was in college '87 - '91. The music was so good I nearly overlooked the Berlin wall coming down! If I had to take one aspect of music and compare to today from the '80's, I'd say that the vocals were WAY better back then. They HAD to be, without autotune and the like.

  • @mrtamberineman123 I agree 100%. It makes me sick.

  • @mrtamberineman123

Yes, well, let's not forget Milli Vanilli. Point taken though, there were exciting things going on. As far as today, The Like is pretty cool.

  • @mrtamberineman123 Don't wish your years away, my friend. I'll be 50 this year - 20 doesn't seem that long ago. I don't think there's 30 years left for me - certainly not of young, vibrant, healthy life! Like Rodney Dangerfield once said: "I''m getting so old that they'll have to donate my parts to science fiction!". If you're 18, enjoy (but not too much!) the babes around you.

  • Probably my favourite Bangles song - not that I don't like Suzanne, but it was great that she wasn't on lead vocals for this :)

  • excelente tema!! the bangles ídolasss y susana es bellísismaaa

  • The three bangles songs people remember the most are "walk like an egyptian", "Eternal Flame" and "Manic Monday" but I think there are so many lesser known songs of theirs which are much better. They are brilliant !!!!!!!

  • So freaking excited to be seeing these excellent performers live in October from the front row!!! Hell yeah! And Pat Benatar!! Bring it ON!!!!

  • @sandy2172

Lucky you, sounds a great gig.

  • 1:40 to 1:58 > the best

  • awesome video--i saw the tour promoting this album in Chicago in 1989

  • Finally, a chartin' song with Debbi Peterson singin' lead on it. Just as good a singer as the other 3, right, gang? God bless!Hit# 30 in Billboard.

  • @DaveWollenberg I agree! This song's one of their best!

  • I cannot stand it they are too hot

  • do any of you all hear the kicking bass riff in the beat? thats miki doing her thing carrying the rest along

  • it's pretty sad that there were more female dominated bands in the 80s than there is today.

  • @tealaced The Bangles, the Gogo's, HEART, Bananarama, etc.

    seriously...

  • @tealaced that's not true at all

  • @gmodesike I am talking about mainstream bands today. I can't really think of any who have had mainstream success, as in, you would see them regularly on TV etc.

  • @tealaced ha..kinda figured you were thinking that way..i see. the music industry has changed sooooo much in the past years..do u like nin? i ramble :)

  • Debbi has sung lead on 2 of the Bangles singles, Going down to liverpool and Be with you,. Michael sang lead on Following, and exept from Walk like an egyptian Susanna sang lead on all the other songs released as singles,.

Vicki is the only one who has never had a lead single released,. too bad,.

the fourth single that was going to be released from the everything album was Make a play for her now, written and sung by Vicki,

this video was shot in a afternoon, not much work behind it

  • What a great song and great video.

It might be my favorite Bangles song.

    Great video.

Actually, the girls are lip syncing the song from the record with crowd noise added in, it is not a live recording, but who cares, it's awesome.

How about a Bangles Reunion Tour!

    Susanna, I love You!

    Awesome Band!

    Peace and Love,

    Rob

  • While it goes without saying that we all love Susanna, for me the highlights in this video are Vicky and Micki. They look absolutely stunning! <3

  • When has there ever been another all girl band thats written awsome tunes like this and actully play instruments. All girls, all hot,all talented would love to see another all girl band like them around.

  • 45 years old and STILL in love with them. Had the pleasure of meeting Susanna, Vicki and Debbi back in 2007. GOD, WAS I NERVOUS!

  • Debbie Peterson's singing voice almost sounds like that of Christine McVie (Fleetwood Mac).

  • In the last twenty-five years, how could I have not ever once thought that? Forest for the trees, huh? Wow, right on comparison...

  • @rpmangin I've always thought that, too!

  • one of the most under rated bands in music history.

  • @){++++++++++++

  • love this song...thanks for posting.

  • Loved the display of legs in this video, especially at 0:57. Nice to see Debbi singing lead.

  • Yeah one of my fave Bangles songs or should I say one of the few I ever did like. More upbeat than just about all of their other songs I've heard. Their other song I really liked is their cover of Hazy Shade Of Winter. Nice video despite it just being every damn rock stage antic cliche.

  • AMAZING...................

  • uffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff fucking hot girl's !!!!!! 80`s !

  • great video, very sexy girl band,i idolised them in the 80,s

  • damnit susanna hoffs I LOVE YOU

  • My fav song by the bangles

    it's perfect ♥

  • Best girlgroup ever...

  • HOTTEST VIDEO EVER!!!
