@l3illabong Another good wood to use are chinese chicken trees. They were imported to the U.S. some time ago, and are spreding like wild fire through the sothern states. They are thin, springy, and strong. I just finished making one today, but disided to add some extra stain cause it just wasn't dark enough for me. It shot great though!

This is, in fact, a sling-shot. You were thinking the key word was "sling" while in fact it is the suffix- "shot"

A sling (which i BELIEVE is what youre thinking of) is different than a sling-shot.

A sling is a piece of chord with a pocket for projectiles in the middle, it is used by spinning it around and lettin go of one end.

I bought one off eBay. I had to ask the seller to pull it apart and ship it in different packages coz customs would block it. It is a lot better than any home made slingshot i have ever made. it only cost me $10 as well. if you want a good cheap slingshot and cant be bother making one you should definitely consider getting one off eBay.

you did a very nice job one thing though the way you held that is very dangerous because the rock could hit where the pointer finger and thumb connect there fore even tearing the skin trust me it does no look or feel pretty but any way I used mahogany and it is very good are you in boy scouts? And finally keep it thicker because if you miss aim and hit one of the supporters you'll very likely break it. P.S. Could someone tell where can and what kind of slingshot bands I should get it would help!

The thin sheets is better, tubing is alright, but the thinner the band is, the better. If you want some ideas or tips check out JoergSpraves channel. He's a slingshot enthusiast and he knows his shit. I'm sure if you ask him what bands are good he'll reply =)

that's not the correct way to hold it lad. it looks beautifull thou, and if you can shoot with it fine..

but you need a longer poke at the end to hold. holding it that way might have the hazard of hitting your head. it can make very very ugly bruises if you do. well. at least mine.

if you can get your hands on the tube used in hospital drop (IV -tube or whatever its called) and shape a luggage carrier from a bicykle you can make a slingshot that rests on your arm allowing you to pull much harder. that slingshot shoots through one inch plywood easily

good idea, but i wont. but try it out. the basic shape of it is same as the one shown in in the video: "custom sling shot faldengufalcon". a slingshot with that kind of tube is very heavy to pull though. it must be at least a 100 pounds of pull.
